Seems like the easiest solution would be if XP calculated was based on the parts of the plan actually used in the update onscreen and offscreen, would that work?
Not really, because then the QMs are still using spoons to calculate what actually happens as a result of all our actions. Honestly, if we make a big plan that costs us xp but then the next few votes are all "Continue with previous plan" that gain xp for being so short, it probably balances out alright in terms of both xp and spoons.

I'm just waiting for three weeks from now when somebody needs to pull something our of the Hyuuga deep archives and stumbles across Neji's forgotten, desiccated corpse.

Y'know, he probably doesn't know anything about what's happened. We should be nice and send Keiko to explain the situation to him.

Are we going to do anything about the chakra monkey spies on the compound? It might be relevant if Asuma is going for the hat.

You didn't address the issue of Mari's mental fitness for the position, though. She's a mess, and she'd have to be at her best to hold together in a shark tank of politics where she doesn't have the raw power to enforce her will if manipulation fails. Unless Kagome suddenly reveals he's been hiding his powah level something fierce and has the might to make up for his lack of social skill, he's no good either.

So the clan is in an excellent position, but lacks a candidate who can actually handle the job. Boy, I dunno, maybe clan Goketsu should adopt Kurenai and support her in taking the hat! Hah-hah-hah-ha.....

....

Hmmmm.

Hmmmm.

Adopt Katō Yūto

I was thinking, maybe there should be some sort of rule of thumb about a good number of proposed scenes to include in a plan? Like two, maybe, or one for something really complicated?

Wait, the what?

Were those in an update? I thought we only confirmed out their schedules in the QM chat.
I'm pretty sure you're joking, but this quest being what it is I can't be completely sure.
Mari looks tired, but she won't admit it. I don't think she's sleeping well, what with all the running rings around those Leaf prissy-pants wives, keeping Hyūga in his place, and fussing over me. I keep telling her I'm fine, but she keeps dragging me out to meet people, have lunch in restaurants, that kind of thing. I know what she's doing—wants to convince me that Leaf is part of the team so I'll stop trying to blow them up. She's such an optimist; people who are on your team don't try to have important votes without telling you, talk bad about you behind your back, spread rumors about how you're traitors just waiting for a chance, or send chakra monkeys to spy on your house. They think I didn't notice, but I did. Need to upgrade the security again, add anti-monkey defenses.

Ah. Thank you. So...probably just Kagome paranoia. Probably.

Does someone want to make a note to ask about where he gets the meat for his dishes? I have a bad feeling about what he does with the monkeys after his defenses are done with them.

I'm really looking forward to Lord Gōketsu intimidating a scrub chunnin into letting us send a message to Ami

Edit: we can even frame this as us doing a favor for Ren by getting Ami out of her hair for a while. So Shikamaru, Kei, Ami and, Ren will owe us a favor

Someone on Discord proposed having the wedding be...well, not in Konoha. Which is a possibility, though we'd need either special dispensation from the Kage (who is dead) or be on a mission. I'm wondering if we could sponsor a medium-term mission which we would then take for the wedding's duration, that would also let us fulfill some other goal like contacting Jiraiya's spy network.

Do we know this actually applies to all ninja, and not just Genin?

Possibly?
The guard captain looked at him as though Hazō had spontaneously grown a second head. "Yeah, no. Nobody leaves without a mission stamp."

Keiko cocked her head in surprise. "Does this mean that civilian merchants require a mission stamp in order to take their goods to market outside the city?"

The 'brand new second head' look was transferred to Hazō's sister. "Who cares where civilians go? Ninja don't leave without a stamp

No what I'm saying that as lord Goketsu there is no higher authority. So we can approve whatever mission we want for whomever we want. The point is that right now we are in charge
Which is...what I...suggested?

To be clear: I am proposing that we order and/or provide funding for a medium term mission to <LOCATION> which we take, allowing us to attend the wedding and simultaneously do some other goal out of Leaf that we want to accomplish (my example involved contacting Jiraiya's spy stuff he left us).

"Kagome paranoia" has become a far less compelling reason to dismiss lately, especially with regards to things he has seen with his own eyes.

Very same update:

Fifi is doing well. The mice are terrified and the voles are gone. She brought me a vole carcass yesterday; I pet her for twenty minutes and she looked all smug, then went to sleep in my lap. Put the vole in the stew for dinner and gave her some. She said thank you.

Huh and who is currently giving out those stamps

Hazou, as soon as he uses his bloodline and high calligraphy score to forge them.

Wow I'm dense sorry

You know, that one line could be interpreted to mean that Fifi literally talks.

Maybe Fifi likes Hazou so much because she can smell that he's related to the Uchiha.

And as we all know, cats love the Uchiha.

Ruminations on the Hatvote...

Hyuuga votes: 9/17

  • Hyuuga - Self
  • Kyosho, Amori, Motoyoshi, Kurusu, Hagoromo - Solid leverage
  • Uchiha - Weak leverage
  • Aburame, Inuzuka - Sincere belief

Sarutobi votes: 3 - 8/17
  • Sarutobi - Self, maybe?
  • Minami - Animosity towards Hyuuga (?)
  • Yamanaka, Naru, Akimichi - Sincere belief (?)
  • Senju, Gouketsu, Uzumaki - Hivemind influence

TODO:
  • Make sure Sarutobi is willing to take the hat
  • Set Naruto to prying Uchiha loose and making sure Minami has reasons besides animus to oppose Hyuuga
  • Make sure ISC is opposed to Hyuuga and set them to prying Aburame/Inuzuka loose

Arguments opposed to Hyuuga that we can use to preserve our coalition and weaken Hiashi's:
  • Akastuki is still at large, not clear what they will do with Pein and all the powerful 'Kages dead. We should not expend military force against other villages with so many hostile S-rankers floating around. Hyuuga is a strong military leader, but Sarutobi will be strong w.r.t. maintaining positive relations with Mist and Sand.
  • ???
