So, Hazō too good for Akane? Is that what Akane thought?

I am confused.
At the end of the day, she doesn't want to be a Pawn (or Knight or Queen) for the Hivemind to steer around the board. Because of us, and the terrible knowledge that all these people are just clusters of thoughts and numbers that we must steer to derive our prefered outcome, we have inadvertently crippled Hazo's ability to be complascent and value things for their own natures, rather than as stratagems to pursue the mythical Golden Ending.

We've basically become Elder social specced Solar Exalted, who're reordering an entire society just because it'll look shinier to us that way, only we're having to channel all our cosmic apathy and genius through a fifthteen year old boy with mild-to-moderate neurological difficulties.

Okay, on one hand, I'm sad for Hazo. I don't even particularly like Hazo x Akane, but I'm a romantic and I wanted them to be happy. On the other hand full steam ahead for ruthless minmaxing of relationships, Hinta x Hazo go!

And this is why I didn't say it was a scenario I really liked.

Oh for fuck's sake, Mari-sensei's not even here. She's retired.
No, nonononoo. The point is that Akane likely bled too (especially given how she was targetted by them), and eaglejarl made a comment on how much of a bastard Jiraiya can be. Do you not see where I'm going there?

Ehh, Hazo is the sum of our goals and biases. Which I certainly hope is not sociopathic.

Well, not quite. Hazou is his own person, but his self-image has been strongly shaped by having our plans appear in his mind presented as his own thoughts. Due to the nature of this being an RPG for us, we're going to plan in certain ways (and the word "plan" is important here -- this is a game of intrigue and cunning, so the things we put in Hazou's head are intrigue and cunning) and the ways in which we play are going to be more reflective of an RPG than a real life. Think back to the last time you played D&D. You were probably more focussed on getting a shiny thing (new spell, new sword, etc.) than you were on things that you would focus on in your real life (such as maintaining human relationships) and... frankly not nearly as much plotting and agentic behaviour and power-grinding goes on in real life than in RPGs (especially mfd).

Ignoring the impracticality of beating a Hyuga with pure Taijutsu...I really want to beat her with pure Taijutsu.
Akane did it. Smacked her around like a rag doll.

Do not be fooled into thinking that Hinata is friendly with us. She is an enemy, full stop, until such a time as the Hyuuga are no longer aligned against the Gouketsu. And that's Hiashi's call, not hers (for the foreseeable future). Hinata may or may not like us, but she is still an enemy until Hiashi abdicates or changes his politics.
You're certainly free to go there, but as a point of information to factor into your planning: There's differences between "rival", "opponent", and "enemy".

On the topic of bloodline crosses, does that mean that Bloodline A x Bloodline B = No Bloodline, but Bloodline A x Non-bloodline Ninja B = Bloodline A?
Bloodline inheritance is complicated. I will note, however, that at some point these bloodlines came into existence. Perhaps the Sage did it ex nihilo, or perhaps they were the union of two non-bloodline people.

before Danzo (I'm assuming) did some heinous act that demanded his head on a platte
Hey, Danzō died because he didn't check the defensive seals on his perimeter and some chakra beasts came in and ate him. It's his own fault for being so careless.

Surprisingly enough, the only person who left blood was Mari-sensei. Hazou got a dislocated shoulder and Noburi got some broken ribs, and Akane got some un-stated head injury...but no blood. Just Mari-sensei, and just from the post-MEW fall itself.

You're arguing that Jiraiya's planning on killing Akane because the Kotsuzui-nin has her scent? But that doesn't make sense because, as Jiraiya's said, we would already have an international incident.

I don't get it, Akane was not wounded during the SCK event. Can you explain?

And for the sake of my sanity, this better not turn out to be a Diabolus Ex Period that those guys are somehow capable of smelling. <_<

In the long term, this is probably one of the better outcomes. In a funny way, Akane is breaking up with the hivemind just as much as she is with Hazou. No more EM nukes for us boys and girls.

I do think she is being a bit unfair in accusing Hazou of not having internalized the fact that they're not on the same team anymore. It's obviously true, but cuts both ways - Team Clanless was included in STL specifically because Akane was on it, and she was one of ours. If she wants off Team Uplift, that's fair and her prerogative, but let's not pretend she was unfairly exploited.

She got a hit on the head there. Hits on the head generally bleed a fair bit whether blunt force or not.

We could just order her to. You know, completely unlike the accusations she made against us. Never let it be said that Hazou is capable of learning!

Oh dear. But then again, they haven't started shit officially so at least they can't be 100% sure it is her.

And now that she is out of the running, there is even less chance they can confirm it.

Or: Something is stopping them from going through official channels. Mist probably has a lot to lose should WW4 break out and they happen to be Hotspring's closest ally right now.

Ow. I can't even say Akane's wrong, because she's totally right; to us, everybody is a tool for us to further accomplish our goals, especially ourself. It does hit one of Hazou's long persistent issues: "I'm a windup doll until I remember to be human again", except told to him directly by one of the people he trusts most.

On a completely different note, it's hilarious how Haru genuinely thought Hazou was there to gloat over his girlfriend being eliminated. It's like he sees Hazou as some kind of cartoon villain.

That was a well written breakup. It was very emotionally mature of Akane to do it the way she did. She's not even really angry. Just cognizant about the problems what having a relationship with Hazou has.

The downside is that she was the best at keeping who Hazou 'normal', I fear we might see way too many lists and flowcharts in the near-future.

You know, didn't we have plans to team up with him after the exams to build some rapport and do some uplifting? I vote we still do it but this time as his superiors and make his life insufferable while twirling our evil mustache.

Haru wants us to be cartoonishly evil? We will gladly oblige.

On one hand, I'm a bit sad that his prejudices haven't changed or gotten any more nuanced. On the other hand, it means that Hazou's always going to have good openings when they start debating, and if Haru sticks to the same lines every time Hazou can apply rhetorical pressure with good points until Haru can't avoid them anymore.

In retrospect this is fantastic!

We now have a plausible IC excuse to go Darth Hazou until the end of the exams.

Really the other ninja should be pissing themselves.

AKANE WAS RIGHT

YOUR NINJITSU DISTINCTIVENESS WILL BE ADDED TO THE LIST, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE
