The Eagle Strike Rune can be paired to one or four corresponding seals. If in single-fire mode, one seal is used as the target location, upon which a [big explosion] occurs. Done far enough away, the payload is basically undetectable. The targeting seal could be buried or otherwise hidden as well, such that the explosive is offset by some distance so as not to destroy the targeting seal.

If in bombard mode, four seals are used to define the blast zone. Inside the area of those four seals, [big explosions] will occur over the course of a minute. In the event the payload is not big enough to cover the whole blast, random sections (a specific offset away from the targeting seals) of the blast zone will be subject to [big explosions] for the duration.

Swap [big explosion] for whatever power we can most comfortably make with Runes, and we've got teleporting artillery!

This is over-featured. It's nice to have writen out as something to build towards, but bad for our first prep day.

Start with a prep day on the MVP, to detirmine if the basic approach is feasible. If it is, we can throw a second prep day to see if a full-featured version is with our skill, or if we need a rune chain.

this is great. perfect minimal test for a prep day.

And even the minimal version can put in work, which is a great sign. With good areial measurements (and if Kisami isn't at the rift site) we could tunnel to a point about a kilometer down and a kilometer away from the rift site, make like 40 of these runes with minusculely different alignments, and open the combat by bombarding the shit out of the rift site, akatsuki, and cultists, all from extreme range in a hidden underground position. then let the Leaf Essies and summons fight the survivors as they flee. that's a great start.


But can we please change the name? Telefragging generally means killing a solid thing by teleporting another solid thing into it, and that's just not what this rune does.
How about "Artillery Rune, MK I" or "Remote Explosive Rune"?

One way this effect could be achieved by spatial manipulation is making a rune which momentarily (for e. g. less than 1 second) yet dramatically shrinks a thin line of space between itself and some distant target. (E. g., shrinking a spatial volume defined by a cylinder 1 mm in diameter and 100 meters in height down to a cylinder 1 mm in diameter and 1 cm in height.) This would create a set of paths through space along which the target would be sitting "right next to" the rune.

That, in turn, would allow us to project basically any effects from runes and even jutsu and seals to that distance! Just plug in some rune/seal/jutsu, point it at the direction our space-shrinking rune would target (i. e., for the payload's effect to propagate along one of the "shrunk" spatial paths), set them up to activate at the same time, and voilà.

(Though of course the whole "shrink 100 meters down to 1 cm" thing may not be easily doable.)

Prep RARS. Difficulty Result: Chūnin

A single seal won't have the oomph to activate a rune, but Hazō can conceive of a design where dozens of seals work in concert to activate a rune remotely (via MARS). As Hazōpilot would know that the single-seal version wouldn't work, he directly prepped the multiple seal version.
Seems pretty doable, even.
 
My thinking was that artillery (to set an explosion far away) would need to precede a trigger with no activation delay. Otherwise SC!Hazo will explode himself the instant that the Rune is set off.

For example, make an explosive rune that you flood with chakra to "prime", but add a weight component to it such that the rune explodes only when 10kg of weight is put on the rune.

This would let us actually activate runes instantly like seals, instead of having to wait 30s.

If this works, we can also try to deploy the time-slowing runes with the same mechanism.

The following is a transcription of several medical-focused VD stunts that were floated on Discord as possible things Noburi could be learning under Tsunade.

Breath of Life

Noburi floods the chakra system of a recently clinically dead (but not brain dead) ninja with a large amount of chakra. Kickstarting their heart and lungs. The patient must have been dead for no more that VD AB minutes. This is enough for Noburi or another mednin to make yet another roll to attempt to stabilize the patient. QMs discretion on what that roll is.

Vampiric Healing

Using his advanced knowledge of medical ninjutsu, medical knowledge and Vampiric Dew Noburi can use tiny amounts of chakra drain and infusion to help wound healing. He can now roll VD level in addition to Mednin and Medknow to treat injuries. On success of both VD and Medknow vs wound TN heal 4x the Mednin shifts instead of 2x.

Medical Vampirism

Using his advanced knowledge of the human chakra system Noburi has learned to drain more effectively. On the Resolve vs VD level roll to drain chakra, Noburi may now also roll Mednin vs Resolve, on success he drains 2x as much chakra as he would otherwise. (VD level + difference between the two rolls) The amount of drain per round using this technique is capped at 4*VD level

Vampiric Touch

Using his advanced understanding of medical techniques and the Vampiric Dew Noburi can project medical chakra through water to a limited extent.

He can project chakra scalpels from the WW and use it to heal / perform surgery etc. Rolls are capped at min [WW, Mednin].

Total range of mednin chakra projection is VD AB meters

Vampiric Assistance

By selectively draining or filling chakra in different areas (cells?), Noburi is able to improve the efficacy and precision of treatments. He receives +Mednin AB to mednin rolls while actively using the VD.

Vampiric Sensing

Noburi can gain an understanding of ninja biology rivaled only by fellow sensor-nin as he has studied and identified every teeny part of a body through internal (on the patient) VD use. Noburi gains +AB to Medknow for rolls on any species that he has mapped out with the Vampiric Dew.

Vampiric Disruption

Using his knowledge of chakra coils and their behavior, Noburi disrupts his enemies chakra systems using an injection of medical chakra mid combat.

Some combination the following occurs: active ninjutsu/genjutsu can't be maintained and disappate, and/or the enemy can't cast nin/genjutsu or chakra boost for the next Round.

This requires he inflict minimum one stress with medical chakra active.

Vampiric Regeneration

By carefully flooding the patient's cells with medical chakra, Noburi can induce gentle regeneration for recent injuries. Generating additional shifts to reduce wound TNs and total shifts, only applies if medical treatment is available <4 hours post injury.

Roll VD level vs Wound TN and add those to the shifts generated by rolling Mednin vs Wound TN for the purposes of reducing Wound TN and number of shifts.

Vampiric Bath

After extensive study of the human chakra system Noburi is able to reverse the direction of drain and feed the recipient's coils with chakra as swiftly as the cast of a jutsu, allowing the recipient to cast ninjutsu as if they had direct access to Noburi's full reserves.

This requires a Full Round Action from Noburi, and bodily immersion in water from the recipient. In addition, Noburi must be touching the recipient for the transfer to work.

This Stunt was designed by Tsunade to allow Noburi to assist the chunin Summoner corps to Summon their Bosses in the defense of Leaf. As it's useless in combat otherwise

Vampiric Soothing

Using his mastery of the chakra system from VD, Noburi can reduce the severity of Consequences taken by overdraw and overcharge by one step if he provides prompt treatement (<10min from the injury). This is instead of triage rolls.

Roll Mednin and VD vs TN 20x Consequence severity, if both rolls succeed reduce it by one step. Example:

Hazou overcharges by 50% to Summon Cannai, this causes a Moderate Consequence. Since Noburi is present he can roll both Mednin and VD vs TN 40 to reduce the Consequence to a Mild. He rolls VD 50 + 3 and Mednin 49 - 12 and fails. Hazou is stuck with his Moderate at TN 20 and 200 shifts.

Let's not overspecify.
Maybe it's easier to twist space. Maybe it's easier to just cause the effect at a distance.

Applies a perfect copy of said writing/diagrams/etc to any paper pressed to the surface of the back side, consuming the internal copy. Preserves color. Cannot store more than one copy at a time. Can do this however many times you can accurately press paper onto the surfaces during the X hours it stays active. Cannot(*) detect or replicate the chakra pathways in seal ink.

To save us months/years of work transcribing lootboxes etc. And maybe replicate seal blanks if people want to try that with a rune.

I'll admit to being somewhat skeptical about this. It seems to require more intelligent ability than we've seen seals be capable of (insert EJ's "smart chakra/dumb chakra" statement). But, that said, runes channel more chakra than paper seals, so maybe they're capable of more?

Feedback:

Might want to do something akin to "It scans the light/dark coloration of a paper placed upon Side A of the Rune, and then chars a paper placed on Side B of the Rune in a perfect resemblance"

This would make the computation of the rune much easier, and it's not seeking to intelligently recreate graphs and charts. Instead, it's merely scanning the paper, identifying the white background and the darker ink, and then creating a copy of that on a separate paper through a mundane tool (discoloring the paper through finely burning).

Basically turns it from a Word Doc software into a more mundane Early 2000 Printer rune.
