At the start, the legal people were trying to pull a kangaroo court and just sort of shove Canary into the Birdcage, regardless of whether pr not she actually deserved to go there. The greater scrutiny has prevented this outcome.
The ironic thing about it is the fact that despite having much less allegations against her, she ended up being immediately Birdcaged. Note, in this fic, due to the Master allegations around Apeiron, some people started looking further into the other well-known Master, aka Canary, and they ended up discovering that not only had Canary's managers known about the mesmerizing effect long ago, other concert-goers had known about it enough that more people than Canary's ex-boyfriend ended up being led to do things with unfortunate consequences while under Canary's effect.
And again, this led to greater scrutiny and therefore a more nuanced response. In comparison, in canon, nobody knew about all these other victims and those that took advantage of them, yet somehow Canary got the more severe response. That's like being given an execution sentence for having robbed a store, while a scam artist that stole millions of dollars from thousands of people ends up just getting jailed.

I think at least part of the difference in this fic is that, rather than being able to pin it entirely on Canary as the Big Bad Ebul Master, now there's other people (the managers you mentioned) that should have mentioned it both to the authorities and Canary herself, who didn't do so because they could make more money this way.

They also treated her pretty horribly like having her in high rated brute cuffs chained to the floor, not letting her bathe and having a full on muzzle on her to stop her speaking to make her look bad to the jury. They also weren't being subtle about it being a kangaroo court with stuff like her lawyer not even attempting to defend her or do anything to let her testify.
Now though while the number and scope of the crimes has increased the studio and her staff are on the line too which I believe is based on the pho sundays thread about someone later finding and releasing less edited Canary tracks than finally released and them having a noticeable effect on listeners. However, between the extra attention and some of the people who were throwing her to the wolves now being on the line and facing consequences for it too there is an effort to defend her and they probably couldn't get away with all of what they were doing. Plus it's also now being done in federal court.
So I've been reading some Science Fiction and discovered this neat little theoretical Material called Neutronium.
Can Joe create something like that and more importantly keep it stable enough to profit from the fact that 1 cubic centimeter of it roughly equals 100 Million Tonnes?
At this point it's probably not a Game Changer, but with Gravity Technology and Enhancements it's likely a good step towards becoming the proverbial immovable Object.
In general wouldn't enhanced Armor (as in divinely constructed Defenses not just strapping a durable Piece of Metal to yourself) be a good general Defense against Annihilators?
Or is the Shards equals Magic Mechanic making all Annihilator Effects effective against Magical Defenses. IIRC Sting was.

an argument could even be made that every date in one of her shows was a rape
every guy selling water bottles a mugging
every single billboard near the show coercion
none of those arguments would lead to legal action but they definitely can be brought up as philosophical and ethical arguments
if the PRT wanted to spin this as a win they could say that this is why capes should do power testing with them
"Because if your power hurts people we will tell you to stop, we don't have a profit motive, we won't lie to you and cause you to hurt hundreds of people without you even knowing"

Yeah-yeah, no actual long term consequences from exposure. As if they would know that. I highly doubt that PRT ENE checked long term effects of her aura and didn't just rush to slap the friendly heroic cape with a less hazardous staple. After all, they already had precedent with Gallant.
Still working on the next chapter, so I won't be able to do a longer response to the thread. I just wanted to get my thanks out for contributions and proofreading assistance before the next chapter.
Thank you. Fantastic work. Something about the manner actually makes me think more of her civilian persona than how she presents as a cape (probably the outfit). Absolutely incredible, and thanks again.
Missing word somewhere near 'would perfectly', also reminds me of poor Chris and his assumption he's a junk tinker
Missing endquote.
had handled herself.
Wonderful chapter, love Tybalt being a dad to zoid-tooth tiger and the other miniature forms for the Zoids.
So their forms are zoid-style mechanical with weapons; robot unicorn attack style shiny and rainbow; semi-conspicuous vehicle forms; and the silver kitten, phone charm and prized coin? Lovely stuff
EDIT:
Nah that one was on purpose, he'd just mentioned an 'unstated' argument in the sentence beforehand.
Is it? I think it's based on it, or perhaps a proto/simplified version of it... but I don't think it's certain that it's shardcomms... If it is, and Joe's decodes it, things could become very strange story wise, since he could start on communicating with rebel shards, and stuff...
In other stuff, would anyone like to help me identifying where each thing is from? At first look and without googling With help from other forumers:
Missing letter. You wrote "suit" (a set of outer clothes designed to be worn together typically consisting of a jacket and trousers or a skirt) instead of "suite" (a set of rooms designated for one's own, or one's family's use for a particular purpose).
A very enjoyable chapter. It's good to see the plot moving forward again.
Now, I guess this is technically fine? But, the structure of "could obtain could provide" is just a teensy bit awkward to me. Maybe rephrasing it might be a better idea. Or just say "what we could obtain might provide victory" or something.
She could hear him breathe on the other end of the line. Like he was building up to something. "Yes, why? Why do I need to explain that my sister tearing me down in front of my parents, while they say nothing, on the worst night of my life is something I can be upset about?"
I had assumed he was just outlining the perk's details by itself and forgoed thinking about perk synergies outside of the divine theme since he was both overwhelmed by the 600CP perk gain and still in a conversation with Uppercrust after he dropped the "Everything." offer. Plus, he'd probably get to it later like with how Secret of Steel's synergy with Exotic Compatibility was explained later.
I also assume there is a difference in its degree/scope of effect. Exotic Compatibility treats stuff as iron "until you begin building with it" while Craftsman of the Gods applies to anytime you make something from base components so it'd activate even when there's no prep, treatment, or forging involved.
With the meeting finally concluded, I gathered Survey and we said hasty goodbyes. Once we exited the suite I surreptitiously grabbed my wand, her comforting presence was welcomed as a surge of concentration displaced us back to the Forge. I really wanted to get inside as quickly as possible, because I could feel the Reach starting a new crescendo. I didn't want to have them see another "Trance".
Earth Bet, Tri-State Area, Danville, The Flynn-Fletcher Home, Approximately 8:00 AM
In the geographical anomaly known as the Tri-State Area, currently under stringent watch by one of the few competent branches of the Parahuman Response Team, there resides a town known as Danville, an anomaly within an anomaly. Despite being on the ocean, it is still well within driving distance of Mount Rushmore. Within Daville, there is a certain street, 2308 Maple Drive. Along this street sits a home with yellow walls and a brown roof, and it is within this home that our story begins.
Seeing this from Uppercrust's perspective really helped spell out how rediculous dealing with The Celestial Forge, and Apeiron in particular, would be. Like, just casually handing over a magic tinker drafting workshop that sparks insights into your power and has crazy storage.
He said it right himself, Apeiron is casually handing out things that would make a low to mid level Cape's career.

nigh-unbreakable or nigh unbreakable.
Also, those water powers are very funny. I like that he got all of them in one update.
Jacob's Ladder searched for the requisition form that his boss had asked for. Apparently he had made an additional deal with Apeiron, the Enigmatic Artificer, that permitted him to request any materials from the Celestial Forge.
Thanks for the omake. Reminds me of the joke about mixing up Y (Yotta, 10^24) with y (Yocto, 10^-24). One is for counting atoms, the other represents a considerable portion of a planet's mass. Always remember to be careful with your capitalization.
Honestly it might be a long run from an "apocalypse" but at the very least, on the short term it would be a major statewide, if not nationwide, disaster once all the milkshake starts rotting and creating all kind of nasty stuff!
Edit: NO WAIT, 100 YOTTA GRAM IS LITERALLY AROUND A SIXTIETH OF THE MASS OF THE EARTH, THIS IS AN APOCALYPSE
Compendium of my obsessive thoughts on this perk and its effects
Jump Topic
=50 WP, Requires The Titan's Mall=
[After every jump concludes, your mall gains a general store specific to that jump's reality that carries commonly available consumer goods and pre-packed food items indicative of that reality's culture and cuisine. Think convenience store bentos or carry-out Chinese food. Also carries spare parts for mundane equipment from that reality. If you've used More for More to upgrade the general level of your shops, the Jump Topics will also be improved, carrying higher-end goods
based in some calculation I've done on discord, the jump shop should be of ~3 hectares in size, similar to the largest shopping malls on earth, that would leave 100 m² per perk, a reasonable number

Common magical items:
magic tattoos (unbelievably useful in any circumstance, even cantrips make for formidable parahumans)
"No. NO. Aisha, listen to me, NO. Your Dad would kill me. I'm a Demigod, immune to anything short of straight-up annihilator powers, and your Dad would literally kill me. Garment, stop making designs for her. Tybalt? Stop laughing, and help me keep the teenage girl away from the tattoo parlour!"
Cool, I've been having cravings for Slurm, I don't know why...
Maybe I can get a pack of bacon flavoured gums too...
And then, I'll get me some Popplers, man those are the shit!
HAH! That would be the kind of perfect anti-ending, that would make a great April 1st post...
...
That, being that April 1st, 2026 falls on a Wednesday, it could be the perfect point to have the story ending...
...
It would just be 3 more years and a half of posts...
...
So at 4 posts a month, 168 posts remaining, a rough average of 14.5k words per post, we've got approximately two million four hundred, thirty six thousand words left to read of this story.
They also treated her pretty horribly like having her in high rated brute cuffs chained to the floor, not letting her bathe and having a full on muzzle on her to stop her speaking to make her look bad to the jury. On the other hand, the whole thing was orchestrated by Cauldron to not so subtly force all parahumans to jump in the hero/villain game and train their powers in battle, for the final Scion battle. Pacific, safe parahumans run contrary to the PowerMongers plan
Heward's handy spice pouch: (present to Tybalt, this version can make spice melange)
Cloak of many fashions: ( Garments ultimate weapon, she can wield this cloak better than any D&D protagonist can use their weapons)
Ioun stones (gift for Survey) fit Amazingly with her aesthetics, whilst providing a modular magical item to any abilities of choice, as well as being distracting to the enemy despite not being that essential for her skills, as everyone will assume the halo of gems is the videogame weak spot
boots of speed (Gift for Fleet) Joe can make these a 2x multiplier regardless of already existing speed, just to compare that is the difference between a lion and a cheetah
magical stones
magical stones are an interesting thing because they work without any external mechanism, meaning joe could use all his powers and still have these effects added to whatever he makes, these aren't game changers but they will be boosts for already existing projects
Stones from 10 to 50 gp, so definitely in range of what exists in the Forgotten realms store, heck i found some of these on my home town mall
Agni mani: This gemstone could absorb a small random portion of an explosive blast [imagine joe having that against bakuda]
Augelite: magically-induced injury was slightly lessened within a 10 ft (3 m) radius around an augelite
[an excellent choice for joe a great defense against annihilators, as their damage output is not infinite, only immeasurable]
Alestone: A being wearing one or more alestones was slightly less likely to be hit by projectiles
[Great of Tybalt as it cover the one "weakness" he has]
Azurite: prevented all injury by normal heat sources and reduced damage by fire or open flame by half.
[this would make fleet immune to 99% of air resistance damage with a ring since his aura protects form the fire]
Bloodstone: [good ring for tetra, as it cures blood, and could probably diminish her blood consumption a small amount by pre-processing blood]
Carnelian
This gemstone was used in the crafting of luckstones and in the creation of devices that offered protection from evil or from bodily harm. Carrying or wearing a carnelian generally improved the owner's luck by a small amount. A properly prepared and enchanted
carnelian could be sacrificed in dire need to gain a second chance at some failed feat of strength, ability, or survival. The person had to immediately touch the special stone, which then disappeared in a flash of bright light, and try again
[this one is the absolute ideal for Aisha, as the only thing that can really be a danger tk her is unpredictable events and blind luck, say a cape blasts in all directions and she is close]
this gems were sensitive to scrying and would give off a soft glow and a gentle vibration when subjected to magical probes such as clairaudience/clairvoyance.
Malacon
Malacon gems could be used to store a spell and release it at a later time, making them ideal for pranks, surprises, defenses, or death traps to those who knew the modifications necessary to cast a spell into this gem. The spell could be released in one of three ways: by physically breaking the gem, either by striking, dropping, or crushing; by the caster touching the gem and exerting his or her will to call forth the spell; or when a predetermined interval, set during the original casting of the spell, had passed. In the first case, the caster had no control of the spell, it went off with the gem as the origin or center of the spell. In the second case, the caster had full control of the spell as if he or she had just cast it from memory. In the third case, all the spell's characteristics, including the time delay interval, were fixed and unchangeable at the time the spell was cast into the malacon. In all cases, the gemstone was destroyed or harmlessly vaporized when the stored spell was triggered. It was possible for someone other than the caster to take control of a spell stored in a malacon, but it required great skill in the use of very specialized spells
[like holy shit imagine this with fate gemcraft it would basically ignore the counter force]
Phenalope
Phenalope extinguished magical flames within a 60 ft (18.3 m) radius and prevented them from igniting or re-igniting
Smoky Quartz
When bones were immersed in a solution that included morion they became hard as steel and immune to hostile necromantic effects. For example, a magic item made with morion-treated bone could not be affected by a rival necromancer who attempted to disrupt its magical function by targeting the bone material
[basicly a magic wolverine, probably even more lethal, but non-metallic, based on how it works a thin layer might give the bone a 4x resistance boost regardless, good for the servo skulls if we ever revive them]
Tchazar
This gemstone was important to those who feared magical scrying because tchazar interfered with scrying devices and spells, rendering anything within 2 ft (60 cm) of a tchazar stone blurry and indistinguishable. The effect was the same regardless of how the tchazar was cut (cabochon, facted, or natural crystal) so it was used to adorn many personal items and locations where privacy was of utmost importance. This magical smoke screen effect was lost if the tchazar stone was shattered
[Do I need to say why this is important ?, he can now make something that might stop the simurgh with a rock, a literal rock, a paper weight that blocks the simurgh and that is undetectable to all normal humans and 99.9% of capes]
Goldline
Goldline had a use in enchanting metal-bladed weapons. It was held in an open flame while the appropriate spells were cast, consuming the stone and giving a plain knife, sword, or dagger a small bonus. Fortunately, greenstones were relatively common and easy to obtain
[another sword boost for his summoned blades]
Hyaline
Hyaline was sensitive to magic and would give off a blue glow whenever magic was activated, triggered, cast, or passed within 20 feet (6.1 meters) of a hyaline gem
[magical detector, always useful, and maybe a parahuman detector]
Nune
Nune stone powder was an essential ingredient of the ink used to scribe dispel magic scrolls and it was added to the immersion treatment when preparing to enchant a wand of negation.
[dispel is always useful]
sharpstone
This stone could be used to increase the area of effect of a spell with a corresponding decrease in damage (or duration if the spell did not have a damage effect). Any size or amount of sharpstone could be used and was consumed in the casting
[joe can now scry the 9 from outside their range, by simply burning a lot of sharpstone and though acceleration to do scrying pulses]
webstone
This stone offered a wearer protection against airborne pollutants and gasses if worn in direct contact with the skin. Some jewelers fashioned tumbled webstones into armpit bands that were worn around the shoulder to maintain skin contact. When the wearer was exposed to poisonous gas, smoke, or airborne spores, the webstone would vaporize in irregular bursts, protecting the wearer from the harmful effects until the supply was depleted or until the exposure ended. Unfortunately the efficacy of this protection varied greatly—from complete protection to no protection at all—between samples of webstone, seemingly at random. This unreliability prevented webstone from having a much higher value.[5]
[useful against bonesaw, nilbog, poison apple, cinderal and others that use gas, smoke or aerosols]
woodbine
This gemstone could be used as a "residual magic" detector, more sensitive than detecting magic and other similar spells. When woodbine was brought into contact with another gem, stone, or metal, it would darken in color if that item had been previously enchanted and had since released its magical energies. The color change was temporary and repeatable.[4]
[always useful having more detectors]
Tempskya
Tempskya was a substitute for the material component in all arcane magic spells dealing with petrification. It was also used as a component when enchanting items that concerned petrification
[petrification is a very useful form of stasis, and a useful non-lethal tool if readily reversible]
meerschaum
Using a unique spell called stretchbone, meerschaum could be transformed to look like real bone, suitable for replacing missing bones in a skeleton. The animate dead spell required skeletons to be mostly intact to be effective, and as long as there was at least one real bone in the skeleton, the rest could be made of meerschaum and it would still animate.
[if we ever decide to revive the cyber skulls we now dont need to make then with actual bones]
iris agate
A sufficiently large slab, screen, or statue made of iris agate reflected all spells cast upon it back at the caster. Treasure vault doors or other areas that might come under magical attack were sometimes lined with iris agate or had iris agate statues strategically placed for defense
[lol, imagine facing a cape and just reflecting an attack back to sender, what an amazing display]

Well, exploits in Elder Scrolls are part of the setting, after all you can become a God or the absolute God by simply having the right knowledge and mental disposition. The Skyrim Restoration glitch had never been patched despite being known for ever. It's part of the setting reality that a smart enchantress and Alchemist can become unstoppable and all powerful. As the teacher at the school used to say "Restoration IS a perfectly valid school of Magic!"
