Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Apeiron could use the water for humanitarian stuff. With Uppercrust and various other kinds of shielding he might have such as 40k's voidshield, he can protect the area and buildings that are part of the sites he'd be working at, and with Titans for example and other kinds of security forces he can build he can protect it even further from any attempted takeovers from local capes

Besides water, the only liquid that he has any significant supply of is Immulsion - which will remain under indefinite containment.
Also the magma and lava from his volcano, but still, does he have any other liquids to use this with? Or any other liquids in V1 of the celestial forge for him to even gain ever?
I hope he eventually gets around to safely studying it and is able to find some use for whatever he learns from that.

Eh, it's still at a scale and speed that by the time Bastard Son cracks the higher levels, either Apeiron began the uplift or Bastard Son ends up destroying himself with human transmutation like Victor

The "lower levels" are a good resource for Bastard Son.

It allows him access to resources.

I think turning a city into a small red stone will be Bastards sons end goal, not raising the dead.
Not yet.
Until someone tests Human transmutation they should not know of soul/philo stones yet.

Ah, another wonderful chapter. Many thanks to the lord.

Just enough time for a quick reply to some questions.

which constellation is divine weapon from?

Capstone

So, question from someone who doesn't know a lot about Tolkein 'Deep Lore'(TM), what does Thurin-Is stand for? Or does it not have a meaning and this is just something that the author extrapolated for the story?

Answered in chapter

Yellowjack looked something up on his tablet as he replied. "I know Apeiron has indulged in such references before, but I wouldn't have expected…" He paused. "Found it. Secret Lore. Thurin and Ist."

It's still not going to be enough especially since Apeiron has unleashed Uppercrust on the rest of the Elite with a target over the likes of Bastard Son and his kin. Like, technically yeah, it is a threat and a force multiplier at that. But even Aisha took essentially a year of dedicated training from Joe himself to be able to really apply Alchemy to Tinker principles outside of the base analysis + deconstruction combo, and that's with him outfitting her with the best tools. Bastard Son will take at least a month to reach a fraction of that level, especially without the small boost Viktor got from Aisha to skip the discovery of the basic steps of alchemy. By that point, Uppercrust would probably have dealt with the rest of the Elite with help of more dedicated support from the rest of the Celestial Forge.

An important thought really to keep in mind with Alchemy is that it's a very complicated branch of science, and even geniuses are known to take years to study Alchemy to be able to use it with enough accuracy, much more on the field or with complicated work. Victor could cheat it because he was conveniently the sum of the knowledge of countless experts from multiple fields, and even then he ended up falling into a trap on his own since Apeiron wasn't there to guide him on what not to do. Thus in terms of a time scale, learning Alchemy is not even in the scope of affecting the plot that much.

It's not an automatic thing that happens whether or not he wants it to, but it is something that he has been making a standard part of everything he makes since he got it.
It helps that Heretical Adaptation will never develop in such a way that inconveniences its wielder. Sure, it may develop in some truly unexpected ways, like with Ren developing the ability to manipulate colors from the Prismatic Laboratory, but it was never deleterious.

Be careful! There is an unknown effect that causes readers to grin nigh uncontrollable for several minutes. In worst case up to several hours with recurring and diminishing returns of the grin.

Secondary effects include but not limited to; fluffiness in your stomach, excitement and wonder.

There is no apparent detrimental effects to the readers. Still, it's advisable to be careful indulging in your material.

Thank you for your time.

Thankfully even at it's worst, Alchemy is woefully underpowered compared to a lot of stuff the CF team has access to. 70% of the team has the capability to destroy the planet on their own, the only exceptions being Fleet and Survey funnily enough.

Now that he had the health and physical ability, what would he pursue as his first objective as a healthy man?

"Hamburger." He said.
Years of a restricted diet, plate after plate of bland, inoffensive food came flooding back to him in a wave of gray nothing. He knew exactly what he wanted.
I'm sure anyone here can agree with that. After years of a bland diet a small indulgence would not be too out of place.

Just read the chapter a second time. By accident. I went to reread one bit about Thurin-Ist, and ended up going through the whole thing.

Quite enjoyable both times.

Alchemy. Bastard Son is working on alchemy. Interesting.
Oh yeah baby, finally! It's time for something to spread far and wide beyond the locked chest of Joe's workshop.

Bastard Son isn't gonna do that shit. Even before they realize the risks, he's just gonna pay all those scientists he's bringing in to do the transgressive experimentation. Exploiting the labor of others is evil business 101.

It's been so many pages since I first mentioned the idea, but I have a dream. A dream where an evil son of bitch like Bastard Son discovers the existence of the Truth… and feeds a steady stream of suckers into the human transmutation wood chipper in order to get more information on it, as well as info from the gate of truth. FMA Alchemy doesn't "punish the person whose really responsible" or anything like that; Bastard Son could totally just sit back and reap the benefits of forcing others to encounter Truth. I wanna see this shit get industrial. I wanna see this shit get fucked up. I wanna see whatever knowledge he gains spread to other people just like the initial alchemy info came to him, and I wanna see horrible theological crises get generated by the confirmed presence of an apparent god-entity.

No guarantee I'll get any of that, but a man can hope.

A thought just occurred to me about Heretical Adaptation. It's likely been incorporated within every tier 1 nanite that he's created. The Matrix probably appreciates that they'll maintain their relative quality to an extent rather than just slipping behind as new nanite generations are devised.

... How did he get Alchemy info?
Some knowledge of alchemy has managed to leak to the world at large. Enough that thinkers have managed to pull stuff together.

Your concerning thirst for crimes against humanity aside, you have missed that the entire point of the post was not on whether Bastard Son would do any of that - because he would if he could - and more on how by the time he even begins to scratch the more advanced principles of Alchemy, it's game over for him already.

Well, if he wants to build a city in his space he definitely can now, infinite power and effectively infinite water.

I absolutely loved Uppercrust being caught off guard by the obvious signs of being a very fit and healthy adult male.

It's literally translated in the chapter; see the quote below.

Yellowjack looked something up on his tablet as he replied. "I know Apeiron has indulged in such references before, but I wouldn't have expected…" He paused. "Found it. Secret Lore. Thurin and Ist."

I just realized that when Apeiron uses his Noble Phantasm, it scarily looked like a parody of Aizen's Absolute Hypnosis

Aizen: Look at this katana
Aizen: *Activates shikai*
bam, under hypnosis

Apeiron: Manifest the Cosmic Hammer
Apeiron: A ring of pure note, then a flashes of miniature sun
bam, some items and also you will feel awe

I'm curious how far they're going to go with FMA alchemy. On the one hand, it's not a trivial power and at the extremes can be extremely powerful, but on the other hand the barrier to entry is quite high as well since it's literally an entire new field of science. On the other other hand, FMA's alchemists didn't have access to Thinkers and their hungry, hungry shards...

Uppercrust might have more work in front of him than we thought. Imagine one of Bastard Son's thrall with something along the lines of Lieutenant's Armstrong's gauntlets. Or several of them. Yikes.
