i personally really appreciate that the author informs us when the chapter isn't ready on the days when i'm expecting/hoping for there to be a chapter. it tempers the expectations a lot better than just saying nothing and letting us wonder if the chapter is coming out in a few minutes or if he needs another day/week/etc to work on it.
