On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

we have a due date? Who is setting this due date can't we complete the school whenever we want?
We can finish the school whenever we want the due date starts ticking down once it's finished since we only have so many turns after its completion before an end cap needs to be presented.
That's the plan, just one 5 action turn on the first eligble turn while the hearthguard/karstah/favors chip away at the university over the next few turns. We can get it down to 1 action left and 5 action it for gigaoverflow with just passive actions and still have a lot of free hearthguard/karstah actions left over.
And this is the current plan. Where we grind down the school until it hits one action in about seven more turns before overflowing it ourselves starting the timer, and good luck convincing the thread to delay the almost completed school months, and months from now.

Fair, I'm hoping we can still try and fill in a lot of favors for the Cult of Valaya, since we can now use if we wanted to, use the collected favors with them, to finally finish Rune Metal pt. 3B. But I'm hoping on saving a lot of favors for that first and foremost amongst other things for the next couple of turns so yeah. It'll if nothing else, calm down the hackles on everyone in the rune tech line if nothing else.

And if not, then we can use it for other very important shit should the need arise.

I've got a plan in mind that next turn does Rune Metal pt. 3B with 2 actions and Valayan Favor (also cleans out that lingering 5 Brotherhood Favor we've had for like eight IRL months or something). Should be useful for the War. Leaves us with 105 Valayan favor for other stuff too, like Rune Metal Part 5 later down the line.

I feel like it was stated we couldn't do that for this project, though I couldn't swear to it.
Nah, we can just dump 5 into it on turn 52 when completion opens up. You might be remembering that it had to take a minimum of five turns to complete?

so we don't have due date then and could u quote where soul says that after we complete we only have some many turn to complete the capstone? Also tbh we could very easily just delay the complete date for it by just not using karak drak favor on building it for a turn or 2 giving us more time to do other stuff and would not be hard at all

very small #DiscordDump since it will likely be relevant to you. I'll also post it in the update itself but here ya go.

Does Khorne's anti magic also cover Runes?
All things are hated in the eyes of Khorne. So yeah. Effects aren't as bad as a wizard not being able to cast spells, since Runes are both more enchantment-y and more stable, but if Khorne wants your magic gone then he has ways of making it so. #Runes #Combat #Theory

Master Rune of Sky's Hate: A true bolt of lightning--a 50,000 degree flash of fire and death, rather than the "mere" strong electricity of current runes--flies out with a burst of hate and rage, killing whatever it strikes as it is raked with plasma and charge, flesh burning and fluid boiling in an instant. It is a Lonely Rune, and furthermore, there are stringent standards on what structures it may be placed on.

"Lightning and thunder may not be beloved by the Dawi; but there are those even among that dark people who understand the might of the skies."

Master Rune of the Fate-Claimer: A strange, and somewhat esoteric Rune. They that bear it are drawn to the most violent parts of their destiny, to the fiercest battles, to the harshest conditions, where the fate of peoples are decided by the meeting of steel on steel. They are granted great strength and skill by it; but in turn it is all but invariable that they shall meet their death in these battles.

Does the Rune make the fate, or the fate make the Rune?

#Rune-Ideas time again.

Master Rune of the Moonkiller: A thick storm of mist or snow or sand (or whichever form of storm is most appropriate for the environment) emanates from the bearer at their command, choking the battlefield and killing any light, so bleak and harsh that neither Mannslieb nor Morrslieb above could be seen. While it is not a pleasant environment to be sure, the storm itself is not directly murderous and does not wound the foe.

Hearing rumors of a "Knight" (whatever that is) that was not simply strengthened but made invincible by the touch of Morrslieb during and after the incursion, the Runelord Valka the strange created this Rune to more properly fight the monster. The battle was still difficult but much easier than it would have been.

Okay I can add it as a Future Rune, I assume armour or banner? And that the mist is hard to see through even using magic.

Sky's Hate: Added Rune, gonna change it to be a bit more sustained and prevent that energy from grounding out. Very scary.
Fate-Claimer: Spooky. Future Rune, may never even get developed. I'll need to tweak it a little bit, and say it guides the user towards key points in a battle, strength growing proportionate to how much victory hinges on it at the cost of vastly increasing the odds of mortality.

Rune of Grounding: Redirects lightning away from the bearer, grounding it safely. Reduces secondary effects such as heat and sound. Also protects from static.

I believe this Rune may already exist. Ill add it if Im wrong tho.

Oh hey, runes! I've had a few kicking around so here:

Master Rune of Igni Skyspite/Master Rune of Cloud Breaking (Engineering): Before the Brana had been discovered and joined in friendship with the Nothern Holds the sky had been the sole domain of enemies of the Dawi. Like many others Igni Skyspite developed his own runes for dealing with pesky airborne menaces. Projectiles fired from war machines explode into clouds of piercing shrapnel upon nearing enemies or upon reaching a set distance from the weapon as determined by its crew.

Master Rune of Flying Shocks (Engineering): Yet another creation of Igni Skyspite. Projectiles fired from war machines fire bolts of lighting against enemies within limited distance along its flight path.

Rune of "Az in hand" (Banner): Allies beneath the banner are found more difficult to disarm or lose their weapon in combat.

Rune of Pincushions (Banner): Hostile projectiles such as arrows and crossbow bolts are drawn to held shields, shields under banner take reduced projectile damage.

Master Rune of the Great Wall (Banner): When allies beneath the banner raise their shields in formation they project a directable wall of energy that scales with the size of the formation.

Rune of Proper Height (weapon): When activated any non-immediately lethal damage dealt to a foe is instead transferred to the enemies legs. Smashing knees and slashing ankles while showing the foe the hubris of being larger then proper dwarfy height.

Basically a rune to help dwarves lead up to a coup de grace on big or tough enemies by well smashing their legs out.

in regards to finishing up the rune university quickly, think one of the reason for it was to try to get the attention of the ancestor gods before they leave

Either way, a 62. Not bad, but not to great either. So probably something involving a keeper of secrets, and presumably the slaanshi city.
