On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Remember how some of our best works have been made by trading for Runic knowledge? Taking that forward with a higher tier of Runelords promises even greater creations and skill.

Barak Azamar, by far the most useful of our creations until our cloak (and arguably still), was only possible because we had the respect and contact with other Runelords.

Fine. Fine. If the idiots are choosing to be cheeky and finagle a way to stay in your home, they're going to at least pay for the privilege! It will require a good deal of work, and cost a pretty penny both in time and effort, but if it's going to be done, then it's going to be done right. Your southern colleagues may grumble and growl, but when have they not? You're over a thousand years old, they can suck on a particularly porous piece of pumice for all you care! Unlocks further options.

Gain title, Member of the Burudin. Options Unlocked. Yorri is too plagued by his mysterious old hurts to see the truth. Accept Alric's offer, and join the Burudin.

This is truly a divisive vote. I think we should join and if they turn out as bad as Yorri says they are. We'll just quit, apologize to Yorri and spend the rest of our lives hearing 'I told you so' from him. Don't even point out Snorri is younger than him. We all know that Yorri is going to outlive Karstah for ancestor's sake.

Also a dwarf flying on a Brana, I can't imagine a more uncomfortable place to be then the sky for a dwarf.

Speaking of which I can't wait for the next radical dwarf that figures out how to make a mountain float on water. If the dark elves can do it, dwarfs can do it better.

I have skipped all the discussion and arguments because I really don't want to read 22 pages of that stuff. That said, it's clear that Yorri has a Grudge involved with them, and he's helped us out far more than such an organization has thus far.

You grunt and no, gesturing at Karstah to go collect the necessary documents.

Moira's mourners are not as numerous as Otreks were, but that can be more attributed to the fact that there is a war going on and not from any lack of respect for her position.
Otrek's
If memory serves you had entertained the idea of making a staff as payment for all she's done for you, but now that opportunity has passed.
Wasn't it a banner we were thinking of?
"This can wait," he chides her, "You have lasted admirably, but the bags under your eyes and the wobble in your steps are proof enough that you need rest. Now off with you, I swear I will not continue until you are as healed as I am. Is that understood?"
Is this supposed to all be italicized? Snorri's dialogue wasn't italicized earlier in this POV.
"Controlling? Manipulative? Politically inclined wazzoks who have wormed their way inside and distorted the purpose of Durin's order with their schemes and beliefs?" Yorri offers
*wazzocks, I think?
Aye, banding together they have enough sway that only Thungni can deny them, but that's all theoretical because none have ever done so," you tell her matter-o-factly.
*matter-of-factly
Nice update!

You've got a space in your voting bracket there that'll mess with your vote.

Anyway, this sounds interesting to me, and I like reading about twisty politics and such anyway (even if Snorri wouldn't be nearly as pleased about encountering that).

The better the throughout the less time we have to spend on them.

The "less time" options would either be maintain or leave them too it. Embrace gives us actions we will have to spend favor/actions on. Sticking them in Khazid Okraz won't mean we have to recalibrate our home to accommodate them and more likely than not has a lesser action cost then what the thread will inevitably vote for.

Huh, This is getting really intense at this point, honestly.

I do like not having to spend extra actions on them while still accomplishing what we generally want from the gaggle.

I'm in favour of regecting Burudin membership, and instead creating an Academy of Runes out of workshop.

Trollwarts?

That would be extremely awesome. The north is going to be filled with even more rune creators that way. Imagine what so many of them in the same area will be able to achieve
And it's never going to happen. One of the few clear rules thungni put down is the need to vet apprentices before the teaching can begin. Snorri already skirts that rule partially by being liberal with who is worthy of his minor runes. But it's still eating into his time and he has to do it alone because other runesmiths have different criteria for their knowledge. It be a academy with one teacher and the strictest entrance exam ever conceived. Which is no different from what we are doing now.
