On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Ahhh. Guess that makes sense.

Poor healing vodka is just not gonna get done.
Rune metal is more important. More standing means more chances of not having to personally do some research because people are willing to share their results with us.

Odd places often gets fitted in ironically because we don't have any action bonuses that might apply to it.

I'd be up for doing it next turn. I do want to get rune metal (at least partially) done in time for the armour request but we could do 1 action completing odd places 1 finishing the tatties and 1 starting the chain. Then even if we don't get an upgrade to SotO we could finish the first part of the chain chain with 4 actions turn 34.

but we could do 1 action completing odd places
The very first Odd Places action was "Odd Places 1/10":
[ ] Odd Places 1/10: Look on Master Yorri's map and try and discover one of his marked locations. The locations will certainly be odd, but whether they'll be useful remains to be seen. [Cost: 1 action] Roll for usefulness.
The one we're doing as part of the winning plan is "Odd Places 8/10", so we'll need two more actions to complete the Odd Places sequence - one action for "Odd Places 9/10" and one for "Odd Places 10/10".

The nice part about odd places is that even if we don't get research mats out of it, every unique resource has narrative weight since it increases Kraka Drakk's wealth and prestige.

[In driest most emotionless monotone imaginable:] Oh no. Imagine if we won't find a new research project. I'm sure we will complete it immediately if only the roll is good.

you can NEVER go wrong with ignoring the End Times , for it is always a correct and good decision to do so
Say what you want. It is what it is. End Times was needed after years of mismanagement. Could it have been done better? Yes.
For what its worth, Grombrindal is still alive in Age of Sigmar. He and Grungni are so old they forgot their exact relation they just call each other grandfather.

I was under the impression that Dwarfs (or at least Runesmiths) had eidetic memory. And even if that's not the case, Grungni is for all intents and purposes a God, Him not remembering how he relates to Grom is odd.
It has been THAT long. And forgetting one detail is still pretty good. Grungni is still a god and Grombrindal is still called the White Dwarf despite the successor race being called Duardin. The Old World lasted from around -15000 IC (4493 AP, Dwarf Calendar, is 0 IC, Imperial Calendar) to 2527 IC. Sigmar then spends a long time clung to Mallus's core before Dracothion finds him.
Gotrek gets spat into the Mortal Realms and remembers with no detail loss as he subjectively spent less time.
Grombrindal also jokes with Maleneth (Witch Aelf hanging around Gotrek waiting for him to die so that she can take a Rune that was put on his chest, she also shows him around and explains what is what) in one of the Gorek books and says he used to be best friends with a certain Dark Elf.

Pray to the White Dwarf if you must. He might be around being the paramour of Valaya.
The paramour thing is purely mythological and based on that his cloak was woven with love.

Which is true as far as we know, but there is romantic and familial love both. And it's a very traditional mother thing to make your child wear a warm thing if going out. It may be a hyper high quality magic resistant cloak, but, well.

Dawi.

The light distracted you for a moment bringing your thoughts on a more positive path. Heh, that was a fun trade with Valma. You might have overheard one of your hearth guards who had heard of one of Valma's dwarves that she had looked over the notes for your runes and promptly got very drunk indeed.

So the story went, she had come to the conclusion that the runes that she had worked so hard to discover, you unravelled even as the trade was taking place, Their secrets revealed to you by her mere discussion of effects. That was supposedly why you felt you had to give her so many runes in recompense. Several drinks and the Bryggeroot Matron running the bar made the mistake of handing Valma a mug with the silver prosthesis you had made the matron. Valma had grabbed the matrons prosthetic arm looked at it for a long moment and then threw herself sobbing into the matron's arms. Wailing loudly that you had just been humouring her and know all the tricks already. Apparently, the matron finally got her to stop making a scene by promising her stone bread cookies if she washed up now and went to bed. Valma apparently said "Yes Mother" wiped her eyes and drunkenly followed the instructions.
why is it that breakdowns from the Dwarfs make me laugh the most? Especially when they feel like someone is taking pity on them?
