Why is the emphasis on Ami and Snowflake/Kei to find solutions? Shouldn't Noburi (medic-nin, Kabuto's apprentice), Ino (Yamanaka clan, mind-people, CAUTION BECAUSE THEY MAY HAVE A BAD REPUTATION IN THIS REGARD), Mari (grandmother had brain-sickness), or that one retired estate Chunin with early signs of dementia be the first people to talk to?

Because Vel enjoys writing them more, and by including the others in the offscreen, we still get the information while maximizing QM happiness.

I don't object to the general idea but this seems very roundabout. Would it not make much more sense to just sanity check with Mari, then ask Ino and maybe Tsunade for medical advice, and then if we have confirmation that we have any workable approach we can ask Kumafuwafuwa and then (if he doesn't object) Mareo? Aka.
  • Medical advice for Mareo
    1. Sanity check with Mari
      • Mostly concerned about security wrt. aiding foreigners
      • Any suggestions of who else to ask?
    2. Ask Ino and/or Tsunade
      • Explain the situation, but don't mention Mareo specifically
      • Do they have any medical advice?
    3. If successful, check with Kumafuwafuwa
      • Mention what we've been advised
      • Ask permission, don't impose
    4. If AOK, talk to Mareo
      • Relay advice, offers to help
      • It's purely discretionary
The rest seems of questionable usefulness.

I have concerns about talking to a person that we want to help them after we talk to other people to find out how to help them.

That's fine, I don't really agree but you can just switch the order of the points around.

My claim was mostly about how much stuff was added into the plan that didn't fundamentally advance us towards the goal.

Updated action plan. Removed the part about Ami, included a fluffy wholesome moment with Tenten. Tenten is cool and deserves more screentime. She used Hiashi's Unlimited Wish (the thing that got Neji Gai's Scroll) to make Neji, personally, swear to protect Kei.

I repeat: Tenten is cool

This could be interpreted as too bold, but it's been a while since we've overextended ourselves and Shikamaru took it okay (also, I'm not actually sure Hazou knows or suspects much in-character.)

I think this could do with some reordering and reframing: Ino should be talked to first before we offer to help Mareo out. It can be in the same plan, but having it ordered like that feels like it assumes her help.

I also feel like bringing it up to Mareo should be done with a lot more, well... thought put into it than a single line.

Lastly, I don't... really want to work on CATEARS prior to MARS.

Backronym aside, we can get the same benefits with lower chance of sealing failure by researching MARS, followed by a chakra adhesion activated activation seal (Leaving out the relay part).

I think that actually is the intended function of the seal - you activate a stack of chakra adhesion triggered seals, since they all activate at once if they're in a stack. Name probably just doesn't actually fit... (Only Hazou needs to know!)

The intent of asking permission before we ask for help is because of privacy. Mareo is a ninja and ninja are suspicious and paranoid. I think @faflec made a good point when he said that we shouldn't blab about Mareo's disabilities without his permission.

As for the implication... I'm not quite sure that I agree. The current plan stresses that our friends "may" be able to help, and very clearly warns against premature/false hope. If it still worries you, I could add further clarification?

I admit, the Mareo/Kuma conversation could use more words. Any ideas?

I don't think that we need to worry about privacy if we're asking generally. We don't have to say his name or anything, and if Ino asks directly who we're talking about and if she can go see them now then we can just say that we're checking if she can help before asking if he wants it, and do not wish to broach trust by bringing someone he doesn't know or like.

This makes sense to me... @faflec, how do you feel about this? This played a role in your initial vote, and I don't want to surprise you by changing it without notification.

If the concern is someone overhearing, then maybe we could ask from a place of high opsec? One of our underground, anti-byakugan, air-domed, hand over mouth Hiding Like a Mole/Tunnel-Caves?

(Though, in the case of Hazou and Ino, putting hands over mouths may lead to an altogether different thing).

Action Plan as of now. Swapped CATEARS with MARS, did some basic cleanup earlier to make it easier to read.
 
I suppose we could always ask Mari about the dilemma, and sanity check it with her? Potential False Hope versus Potential Breach of Privacy?
 
imo the best order is just "Mareo/Kumafuwafuwa, my village may have resources that can help but I'll need to ask permission. Are you interested in me pursuing this?" and then ask everyone for relevant permissions. To me, it seems like it would be weird to ask them without knowing if Mareo even wants the help

That's the nature of chakra adhesion activated seals. The chakra adhesion permeates the entire stack. That is why you can't put a bunch of Rocket Boot seals at your feet and trigger them one at a time. A single use of chakra adhesion would trigger the whole stack at once (probably destroying your legs).

With chakra adhesion triggered ARS, you could pair a dozen seals to a dozen CATEARS and trigger the entire stack of CATEARS with a single, free action use of chakra adhesion so long as they are all in one stack.
