@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped Do we need to have the chakrasealing/sealhacking/minatosealing stunt in order to continue learning minatoseal 9+? Or is having TH alone enough at the moment? It's fine either way, I'm just amused at the thought of it jumping from no TH needed to TH 40 being needed.

It's all fun and games until the research project you're working on suddenly needs you to get a second Bachelor's in STEM :p

Oops. Lost track of my quote here but the point is that I just wanted to comment on the impracticality of cracking Paperclipped's message hash from the discussion after the chakravore chapter.

Assuming that there are no bugs in the hashing algorithm, the fastest way to crack it is to create a database of possible texts, hash them, and then look up the unknown hash in the database. There is somewhat of a shortcut to this process, called a rainbow table.

Rainbow table - Wikipedia

It is important to note, however, that doing this in the present case has two major problems. One is just that there are so many more possibilities with a message like this than there are with a typical password. The other is that there are actually an infinite number of texts that may generate the same hash (a hash collision). This is not a problem for password cracking since you can authenticate with anything as long as it gives the right hash. Here you might, or actually probably, will tend to find all kinds of gibberish instead of Paperclipped 's original text.

He still raises a valid concern that should probably be addressed by any chakra-drain idea rather than just hoping bignumber solves it.
Oh sure but we can do something like drain chakra in X area, or for X amount of chakra or or or... there's lots of solutions. That said: I think this is more likely to work in runecraft or minatosealing than baseline sealcraft.

Hey, just checked the character sheets, had a couple observations.

1) Noburi is stagnated in 1 area, but his XP rate is 0.3. Shouldn't it be higher? Like, 0.7 or 0.8? And I don't see the Water element synergy stunt that we bought a while back on his sheet, or an effective level section for his water techniques to reflect that.
@Velorien @eaglejarl @Paperclipped just want to check what's going on there.
1.5) SC is going to use up his XP for a little bit. Which is a shame, because I'm reminded that Hozuki's Mantle is quite good, he does use it often enough, and we really should get it up some.
2) Hazou is stagnated in sealing. We really need to start cooking on those good projects.
2.5) Can we PLEASE get time dilation and a protective dome up, if/since we're here for a decent length of time, after the next update?
3) I feel like there was a reason we were holding off on investing Kei's XP. Can someone remind me what it was? Otherwise, we really should invest it (like, in a wind Ninjutsu and wind journeyman, for wind barrier, or better athletics).

Nope, check the stagnation barriers, his total XP count is 12900ish and he's been stagnated since Combat at 12k, that means he's fully stagnated in that domain, since his Medical domain is unstagnated he defaults to the 0.3x rate.

Depending on how his clones turn out (if 1 CP internal) we might just have him abandon FOOM and then we'd have him get HM 30 next

That's the plan, Water Runes or FDs to unstag, TR150 in the alt slot.

We've lost something like 18 hours max from not having a TR up since we got to the cave. Without long updates it can't matter since updates are measured in subjective days.

At first we were unsure if we'd trigger golems in the grotto, so it didn't make sense to set one up. Arguably we should have set one up last plan, but again, I wanted to ES the grotto first.

Next plan we'll ES the grotto and get it going.

We bought the combo stunt for Wind + RRB in July and it was never added to her sheet. That 100 XP, the rest will be spent raising CotWG to 40, which costs ~350 XP, and there's no benefit to intermediate levels. Makes more sense to bank it until we can buy CotWG up in one go.

Ah, so two barriers for one domain counts as two as well, I didn't realize that, thanks!

But, what about Apprentice Waterbender stunt? I know that one got passed at some point, and could matter for another HM usage or something.

Cool, sounds good, just wanted to make sure there was a plan for that soon.

I feel like a Noburi with 1 CP but a capacity of 40 is decently likely. Though, then Noburi could make his own less expensive jutsu-casting clones, which would be rad, long as he could refuel between fights. Though if we get to that point, boosting athletics goes up on the priority list.
I will also be interested to see if Noburi gets the excess chakra back or not (and if it goes to his barrel, or super overloads him, or what else happens).

The time lost doesn't reflect the time to get to the cave, or to get to the pool, or anything else, but I take your point. I'd still prefer to get it going, then ES the grotto, if only to give us an initial edge if we DO wake something deeper up.

Ah, okay, those make sense, thank you for explaining.

I don't recall this, whatever happened with it, likely the XP was spend on medical stuff and we never purchased the stunt, a shame.

What do you mean by a capacity of 40? A capacity of 400 CP (reflecting his CR 40) or a capacity of 40 CP (reflecting ????). I agree that it's a possibility. But unfortunately the part-surgical nature of the VD and several statements Nobs has made about his kids being civvies without some Wakahisa clan juice seem to point to him naturally having civvie reserves. Since without his bloodline he would have been born a ninja with normal coils I could see the case for SC making his clones with normal reserves, but it could go either way.

TRs have no combat effects. If we need to flee the cave I'd rather not leave behind a TR. It's the matter of hours at most.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped

We were discussing on Discord potentially evolving couple of Hazou's Aspects since they don't really fit him anymore.

(Formerly) Marked for Death ->>>> ((Formerly) Formerly) Marked for Death

Combat invokable. This is since we went missing again lol, no diff just funny as fuck.

Lord of Clan Goketsu ->>>> Mad Clan Lord

Social invokable, Sealing(!) invokable. We've been hearing about this for a while, it's our nickname in Leaf, we went crazy looking at the GS and the Pangolin Scroll, Hazou's advanced enough as a Sealmaster to have 2 invokable Aspects I feel. He has crazy ideas and they work (sometimes). He neglects his duties as Clan Head to go do sealing research (remember the Jashin denounciation).

Open Mouth Insert Foot ->>>> Pretty Damn Far

Combat invokable (if family present), social invokable. This is the new Trouble Aspect. I don't think Open Mouth Insert Foot has fit us for a while, we've made a significant concerted effort over time for Hazou to move past this. I know as a plan writer I take care to avoid this whenever possible. This one causes Hazou trouble when he goes too far for his family, both in social situations (alienating people who otherwise would work with us) and combat situations (why is the squishy Sealing spec also Taijutsu spec???).

docs.google.com

aspect ideas

Hazou, Current: Creative Idealist - Invoke when: Hazō has an unorthodox idea or gives an impassioned speech. Earn Fate Points when: Hazō values idealism over practicality or isn’t taken seriously due to the apparent naivety of his beliefs. Open Mouth Insert Foot - Invoke when: Hazō's painful sin...

May as well share these again ig, tho I made them a while ago

Combat invokable (if family present)
Would caveat that they don't even need to be present so long as the conflict was clearly on their behalf (so fighting a bunch of leopards wouldn't grant it (unless Hazou gets a lot more attached to the Dogs I guess...)), but fighting e.g. Ritsuo for insulting Kei it would still be usable even if it's a 1v1 since it's in the defense of a family member.)

Ah, so two barriers for one domain counts as two as well, I didn't realize that, thanks!
I think this point of Sir Stompy's was misunderstood. When you are stagnant in a domain twice, it does NOT count twice. It only means you need to clear two barriers to not be stagnant in it.

When you have only 2 domains and are fully stagnant in one, your rate is 0.3x. If you're stagnant in both domains, your rate is 0.1x. I think you thought it would be 0.7x for only one domain being stagnant but this is incorrect. Stagnancy is very punishing to those who cannot clear their barriers (mainly essies but jonin too).

unless Hazou gets a lot more attached to the Dogs I guess
Unironically we already treat them like family, how much more attached can he get?
Get TYS points when they die :^)
When @DanZapman said that Hazou treats the Dogs like family...
Rats. There went Hazō's disposable trap detector.

Eh, he could always make a contract with some other dog.
I'm not sure if they meant in the "TYS-inducing-deaths" direction.

How do we treat them like family? When they die, we shrug and move on, I don't think I've seen a single person suggest we try to resurrect Canaut -- died because we didn't treat the Dragons with due respect.

Or even Canzon and she died because we fucked up. Some other HCs died there too and I can't even remember their names.

Contrast this with Akane....

We could hardly care less IMO. Like we don't treat them as disposable because that's not useful, but I am not attached to any Dog, except Cannai, and maybe Cansaku -- but that's just cuz he's an elite jounin-killing gigachad.

You realize Hazo recently just dumped all his family members except the most useful few of them to go do an insanely risky mission because he felt he had to save the world? We treat the dogs exactly like family.

I'm not sure if they meant in the "TYS-inducing-deaths" direction.
Correct, the ones we would get TYS for are more useful alive.
