Kranz Martial Check: 83+26=109
Khan Martial Contest: 80+55+8+10 (Duck Rage)+7+5=165
Khan Success! (All's Right With The World)

The two of you reach the toon and, by silent mutual agreement, begin beating him senseless.
Let's see:
A buff man and group find a small mystic item of power.
The sudden yet inevitable betrayal by one of the members to seize the said item.
The senseless pummeling on the wacko of the item.

Did anyone else hear the "ORAORAORAORA" while picturing Khan and duck Max pummel Kranz?
Kranz Martial Check: 23+26=49
Khan Martial Contest: 17+55+8+10 (Duck Rage)+7+5=102
Critical Success

With an overwhelming "WAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!" of rage, Max pulls the talisman out of Kranz's fingers, winds up, and sends the toon slamming through four walls, two trees, and the top of a mountain. Through the holes, you can see the distant form of Kranz rapidly disappear into the night sky until it is nothing but another twinkling star.
He even have him the Lars's orbit express.

Considering what Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz has accomplished in this quest, is it really a surprise that the dice seem to like an underdog?

It's pretty mixed and both sides seems pretty equal, but both seems to agree that after the auction Max will not be on Quest anymore unless he is needed for it.
Indeed. But for now...Well, we're probably bringing Vanessa and CERTAINLY bringing Janna, and, hopefully, the presence of the other members of the Doof Troop will convince him to give it a shot. Plus, I get the sense it's not so much that Max hates Quests as that he hates ADVENTURE. Basically, the types of Quest he hates is specifically the outdoorsy, Indiana-Jones-type stuff.

Quest: You Made Me Love Xanadu completed!
A gargoyle beast has decided to follow you home! He may be assigned to a hero on a quest for a bonus to Martial, but only if the quest takes place at night!
Ancient Mongolian documents have been recovered! You might want to let someone take a look at these!
Ancient Mongolian relics recovered! Temujin feels more at home now that he's recovered some treasure from his homeland.
Jī Talisman of the Shengxiao Set recovered! This talisman grants its wielder flight and telekinesis!
Max's preferences have been revealed! Max Goof wants a quiet life and greatly dislikes going on quests to the far reaches of the Earth! Can you blame him?
Oh, so that's whom the previous chapter was referring to! Poor, poor Mr. Blue Sky--I mean, Max. But hey, at least he got a chance to shine and impress Khan! It's not like we plan on sending him on another quest right after. That would be crazy talk...

Seeing the thread reaction to Max I am becoming a little bit uneasy. I want the Dooftroop to be on the auction as it would be very interesting. They are teenagers surrounded by magical items that they could potentially have, it would be just like Harry Potter. Hell just look at my comparison, it's perfect.

Max=Better Ron
Vanessa=Goth Hermione
Janna=Alt Harry
Doof=Dumbledore
Felldrake=Volderduck

yeah we just need to not send him out into the wilderness.

maybeJanna can convince Vanessa to convince Doof to let her come on expeditions?

anyways

Out door quests big city adventures should be fine

Meh, I'd be against that. He wouldn't have much use for it. While we may or may not be able to send him on adventures that we deem mundane enough in the future, it'd be kind of a waste of an artifact while also being something that he wouldn't really care all that much about.

Speaking of artifacts, are we still going to give the wings to Hego now that Khan is done with Xanadu?
I'd actually want to hand off the medalion to Vanessa, on the simple basis of "she could use the stat boost". We could give it to Max, as he's well earned it, but I don't think he wants it.

Said boys organization is also apparently a successor to ancient organization that protected Library of Alexandria. So it works out.
It really doesn't. Gate-locking knowledge behind gender is uncool.

Edit: unless the Chikadees have an equivalent, and we just don't know it.

Kranz Martial Contest: 92+67(joking around reroll on 90+)+26=185

Well, ain't this the most fascinating thing? Wonder if this is the same trait involved in Judge Doom's expanded range for exploding dice.

We actually know this one thanks to our employees. Any roll done by a toon has a 10 points lower crit-success threshold...And a 10 points HIGHER crit-fail threshold. Toons make life just that extra bit more interesting. This guy and Doom are just evidence that power can be used for evil. I mean, real evil, not cartoon evil like we do. "Commit genocide for a quick buck" evil, not "make everyone's voices high-pitched" evil...Look, you get what I mean!

Whatever Kranz happens to be packing, it is different to Coyote's trait, tho. Coyote does not have expanded range for exploding dice, which Kranz does.
