Damm Dice Gods. With the number of Toons around they sure didn't hold things up. Though when Janna turn Max into a Duck....didn't she rolled higher than Kranz? Then why did Max still becomes a Duck? Anyway as for the name.

I am afraid I don't get the reference.
He could technically probably help on "mundane" ones like the auction, assuming nothing spectacular happens there beyond just buying and talking, but it's best not to jinx it.
A theoretical Gala quest where Doof merely attended the Gala and no one heisted it would also probably fit under "not too exciting," but he would probably find that one boring rather than horrible.
Technically speaking, he only made it clear that he hated the one trip to the jungle where he explicitly took the brunt of the failed rolls. Those who thought that maybe he just needed to have a "good" adventure where he doesn't become the brunt of the joke weren't necessarily wrong to assume such as a plausible answer.
