Well, those two chapters to wrap up this interlude were pretty interesting to see.

The Rooster Talisman is definitely a useful tool to have which could be useful with certain tasks as well as combat; e.g. using it could be a bonus against the catle moving DC since it could hadle some of the finicky placement of parts.

so if that didn't raise khans diplomacy what will? they may not be a diplomacy hero but they still rolled really well in diplomacy.

Should we give it to Doof as a tool/personal weapon? (Probably also do the Darth Doof impression in his downtime.) Or is there a better candidate for the talesman?

...you know what?

Give it to Ludivine.

I understand science and magic are not the same thing, but if anyone's gonna be able to figure out some wacky applications of levitation and telekinesis, it's gonna be our 40 Learning hero with the heart of a mad scientist and the attention span of also a mad scientist.

if it can be traded among people freely it would probably be smarter to give it to the people going out on missions. So doof may use it during a mission.

Edit: or as aprocrastinator said if it can be used for science then our science hero units might do good with it at times too.

For information purposes, here are the powers of the Talismans...The Rat brings inanimate objects to life, the Ox grants superhuman strength, the Tiger splits people into Yin and Yang (Basically Id and Superego), Rabbit is super speed, Dragon is fire, Snake is Invisibility, Horse gives a healing factor, Sheep gives Astral Projection, Monkey grants the power of shapeshifting, Rooster (the one we have) is Telekinesis, Dog is Immortality, and Pig is laser beams. So...A lot of powers, yes. But it's not quite that simple. For instance, the Horse was once used to repair a ship, and the Rabbit can grant speed to vehicles and objects, not just people. There's a lot of interesting possibilities. One of my questions is what happens if we give one of these objects to someone who has already has that power. Like, if we gave Hego the Ox when he's already super-strong, would he just get STRONGER? What if we used the Rat on, say, Buzz Lightyear? Would it not do anything, or would it make him "real" in some other sense, say, turning his lightbulb-laser into a real laser? Or...OH. Here's an idea. The big weakness of Gargoyles as a species is that they can only operate at night, and during the day, turn into stone statues. If we gave a Gargoyle the Rat Talisman...Would it nullify that weakness? That'd be fun.

I'd actually want to hand off the medalion to Vanessa, on the simple basis of "she could use the stat boost". We could give it to Max, as he's well earned it, but I don't think he wants it.

I think you're all forgetting something:
"We are not thieves. Long ago, you entrusted us with your treasures, Khan, and never did you break our pact. These items we kept from your unworthy successors, we will return to you."
The talisman is Temujin's personal property. He should get to decide who wears it.

It really doesn't. Gate-locking knowledge behind gender is uncool.

Edit: unless the Chikadees have an equivalent, and we just don't know it.

we don't want her to have it as Doof will not allow her to be in a situation to use it.

Doof himself should have it during the auction and we can pass it around as needed defaulting to Doof to give him a measure of self defense ability

Bear in mind that we've been told explicitly that the Talismans are like, but not necessarily identical to the ones from the Jackie Chan cartoons. On the other hand, at least one of the Talismans does indeed have pretty much the same power.

Like, if we gave Hego the Ox when he's already super-strong, would he just get STRONGER?
Presumably he would. On the other hand, that might not benefit him as much as it would someone with merely human strength.

The Rat Talisman did exactly that in the show to a Gnomekop plastic toy, so that probably would be one way to get the real Buzz Lightyear. Although toys in DVV are a tricky enough concept that I'm not sure what to make of them, since Toy Story... well, we don't know if it's canon or not, I think?

Friends, countrymen, other word useful for my rehtoric! Lend me your ears!

Amur sounds more like the name of a kitty-cat than Khaldun does. And it is for that reason why I, and you, should - nay, must vote:

Edit: Ok, you can have your ears back now. Threads and needles are on the table... I'm gonna go wash this all off. It's kinda ick, ngl.

I *think* it was implied that Toy Story is canon to DVV Gridlocked, because in the Doc paragraph about Monsters Inc. it was mentioned that Scarers are starting to face resistance from Toys protecting their kids.

Dunno how canon that is to Doofquest, though.

I hope if its canon its more like toon creation of particularly imaginative children or toy creators or proximity to sapient toys becoming sapient due to said creativity. Also hoping its in a similar scale of there being hundreds of thousands at most and not every toy everywhere.

Yes, but no.

Even assuming 1:1 power equivalence to the JCA Rat, we would need a man-sized Buzz Lightyear toy (see giant Gnomekop vs normal action figure Gnomekop).

In the other hand, it seemed to create a picture perfect clone of the Chinese man who sealed Shendu in the first place when used on his statue. Dizzo Quetzocoatl.

That's sorta what i'm asking. Since Toy Story are already technically alive, in a sense...my bet would be that there's no APPRANT change, Ie buzz is still a toy...but now his laser is real.
