@Made in Heaven

Okay so I feel like I have to ask.

Would it be possible to invite Shego along as our plus one to the magic auction?

There's strategy to having her along and briefed on the Magic situation and Toffy's danger.

But mostly I want to keep the misunderstanding of Shego and Doof dating going because it is Hilarious.

Should coyote do the acme delivery one to (potentially) help with the castle next turn?
The problem I see is that, unless I've flubbed the math, ACME Delivery is a relatively risky action to try normally. It has a DC of 95, so with Wile's +26 and Doof's +24, we're looking at a 56% base success chance. If we spent the maximum amount of XP on it our success chance is kicked up to 66%, which still isn't that great. If we could put our Personal Attention on it the odds look better, but we can't really afford to lose the 3 Personal Actions that would take next turn, not with our spellbook, looking for summer time evidence of P+F, and wanting to grab the detective agency.

I do agree that it's something we want to get done relatively soon, because Malifishmirtz would be great to have as a Hero, but we just aren't set up well enough to do it next turn, I don't think. We need either a stronger Stewardship Hero or enough free time for a Personal Attention, and right now it isn't looking like we'll have either.

But who knows, maybe Roger will have a Stewardship in the 30s for managing to keep a town as weird as Danville running smoothly, or we'll find some other unit with a Stewardship stat large enough to make it viable before next turn starts. But as things are now, it's a bit too difficult for me to feel comfortable attempting without a reroll.

George might be dead? He does get shot in the movie after all. Though as I haven't seen the movie and only read what's on the wiki... Maybe a depressed broken hearted George is out there thinking about Ursula being married to not him. Ape would fit right into Doof quest as a talking animal.
Well, the secondary villain's motives were to capture Ape to make a show in Las Vegas. So if he's in the world, he's probably in Kronos territory.

Rereading Janna's personal actions.

... Does this worry anyone else?
Yes, but we think we already know what the problem is (Toffee), so it's at least a well-understood worry.

We need her learning, but like, some verrry interesting options here. Marian Robot is some sort of hero unit?
Maybe, but I suspect the Martian Robot will go through a 'larval phase' of passively boosting Ludivine's Martial and maybe Stewardship (since the robot faithfully executes general tasks unquestioningly) before reaching that point.

Alright, I don't want to put this off anymore; I think we should reach out to Shego and see what we can do about this drug ring.
The problem is that reaching out to Shego precludes our double-action action for Diplomacy and we really don't want to delay that any longer. Also, bluntly, the drug ring is still her territory's problem, not ours. And there's a distinct chance that Shego's behind it in the first place, or at least involved. Look back to the update where we bought out Bueno Nacho and how specifically she mentions drug dealers as something she doesn't want Hego fighting.

I definitely want to put Max or Dennis on the Resistance and have Hego go do some do-gooder stuff that will make him happy instead. I suspect that given Hego's low Intrigue and general stupidity, combined with his black-and-white sense of morality, the Resistance has a fair chance of convincing him that they are on the side of good and we are, obviously, evil. And while it's unlikely that Hego would actually switch sides or start working against us, we are screwed if he does. Because we have no means of stopping him without a risk of hurting him... And if we hurt him, Shego will kill us.

Now to be fair, Dennis' Intrigue is even lower than Hego's... but Dennis doesn't have any specific psychological weak points that would cause him to flip his loyalties.

My logic for Goofy on the Diplomacy option is actually even more relevant with Princess CJ in the mix. His toonyness aside, Goofy is a model parent; and a great influence on a young developing mind.
That's... actually a good point?

Getting Dennis an instructor for Kung Fool seems like it's something that would be very useful, especially if that can be expanded to teach our other Toons. Including Max, who may be able to get some input from Russ to make it a Straight Man Sub-style.
I don't disagree with the logic, but I do think this is the kind of long range "it would be nice if" goal that we can afford to defer for a while in the face of practical necessities.

Like giving the Resistance a sandwich.

So....after reading through the comments with more detail. I revised the plan a little bit. The changes are Exposing Hawk being removed entirely and being replaced with investigating the cape scene lead by Mirage as someone said that Mirage personal action is more of a finding who and where is the laying low and retired capes is. Russ meanwhile had been transfered to a drug ring and Tobe to a Voodoo Poker championship with friends. Thoughts?

REASONING

Martial

It is a good time to do the Resistance action as currently there is nothing really urgent going on and other options are much better to be done when Temujin got an upgrade on his personal action and when we finished the Adaptive Anti-Cape AI for any Norm upgrade. The reason why we should sent Max or Vanessa is to use their In Crowd trait to get the maximum benefit. The trait is not for the boost in Stats, but for the nature of the trait that would make Max more relateable to the resistance as they are of the same age. Hero units like Temujin, Coyote, etc at best will only have the resistance shut up and leave us alone. With Max or Vanessa however there is a chance of the resistance telling us a usefull information like where the Devil Girl is or have them join us outright. Vanessa however may not go on this action thus Max is the one who is going.

Diplomacy
Not only would this frees up Goofy to have him focus on his degree, Technor is also suitable for the job. The City Council description said that we are going to add an assistance robot to the council. Then who else is more fit for it beside the robot with specialty in Psychology? This way we could also have Technor take a look at Princess and gave her some valuable experience and advice in dealing with hostile malware.

Stewardship
Develop a new social media platform is the best place to assign Coyote as he is a Toon who is naturally a master in entertainment industries. Choosing the Develop a new social media platform this turn with him will not only be the start of us competing with ENCOM, it will also show the general populace that employing Toons actually provided results without us actually have to respond to Doom's Slander and looked weak by being seen doing Pro-Supers action by mere propaganda. Meanwhile having Janna excavate chicken itza is for the boost Felldrake provided in doing the auction and to have his willingness to talk about Xanadu Quest. Finally having LOVEMUFFIN set aside money for the auction. Normally I am going to get worried on letting them handle money, but the DC for this is zero.

Intrigue
With Doom pressuring us in public opinion while at the same time supporting the supers, I at first want to expose Hawk to get him run around doing damage control and have Mirage search for wayward supers in her personal action, but someone said that searching the wayward supers is a kin to finding out which supers is hiding or lying low and where. Not something usefull in the current situation so I instead switch it to investigating the cape scene as we really need to know what their reactions would be. There is also the fact that many want to go with Robo Hawk plan and I am fine with it this turn, but if Doom kept on pressuring us or Toons then I strongly suggest we expose Hawk next turn to stop it.

Meanwhile we really should go take a look at whatever the hell is up with the Drug Ring as they are just bulldozing everything in their path. Having info on them also will be a good gift to Shego once we reached out to her next turn. She should be fine with it as we have rights to be concerned with an ever expanding Drug Ring right next door and I can't in any possible way seeing Shego approving anything with Drugs.

Learning
Dino Domestication and Adaptive Anti-Cape AI is for removing Jumba's Hungry for Science trait, and to open up options that would improve the new Social Media Coyote Make with Dinosaur entertainment, give Temujin his new Dino Steed and search further into betterring the AI system for Norm.

Occult
The least important of Occult action. Tobe is literally the only one who can do this right now and this action is also the only one he could possibly succeeded in Occult National Action section with his shaman of his.

Personal Actions

Doof
: We need to finish making up with Roger and finally have Occult Stat. I at first want to make the musical, but some prefers to have them when we make up with Roger so that he could enjoyed it and maybe even take part of it. Chat with the Bossman is for Doof to know what's up with Janna's extreme reaction to Toffee. Browsing also maybe will brought something nice to our attention as well.

Goofy: We need to know what his secrets are and the best way to do it is through making Goofy get his degree and then have him reveal it through Chat with the Bossman. It has a clear goal of only needed to be taken three time to finish while the other personal action is Vague. I am pretty sure that Mickey and Pete action would lead us to another Search Quest that more likely than not only have us found a bigger clue like what happened in Peru while Gardening option more likely will land Goofy a trait related to it.

Genghis Khan: Temujin is due his incorporation with modern times. I at first want him to study science and technology to remove his negative trait to make use of his full stats on certain actions, but after Ludivine revealed that she is a better choice with her traits I chose to have Temujin better his living condition instead. This would also give Temujin a place where he won't need to be worried on Gary duking it out with his eventual steed.

Francis Monogram: Better finish the reorganization so that Monogram could be more usefull.

Dennis: Dennis need a Master to began the true path of mastering The Kung Fool.

Hego: Hego is a Super. As in someone Doom is saying we didn't care about? Having Hego doing good deeds on the street will show the populace that Doom statement is false and that we actually had Supers active in our territory.

Vanessa: Honestly? I just want to see what shadow jobing Doof will do to Vanessa.

Queen Lizzie: Studying excavation tech should let her have easier time building escape tunnels. She also had just get out of prison to be something usefull. Let's not get her mad by forcing her to socialize.

Vanessa: This option is most likely similar to Norm's follow Father around option and considering that Doof is basically helping organize every Hero units on National Action, I want to see can Vanessa help's Max through this or not. Thus having the two most likely Hero Units suitable to deal with the Resistance on the job at the same time.
QM said that Doof would not let Vanessa deal with the Resistance. Stop trying to sneak around that. If Vanessa is shadowing Doof, she won't be following Max around.

I like most of this and am even willing to convert it over to [ ] format for you, but first have some suggested changes.
Having slept on it, I appreciate the offer, but I think TK's plan is close enough to mine that I'm not willing to split the votes on it. But thank you. in any case. :)

Temujin Personal action
-[ ] Get a social security number

I think your plan is close enough to my plan I'm willing to vote for it, even if this wasn't changed. Out of curiosity, though, why this and not getting him an apartment, or a steed? Considering the types of missions and actions Temujin goes on, being off the grid seems like it'll be more frequently useful than being on it.

(You have probably already discussed this in a massive amount of detail and I just missed it! Apologies in advance if so.)

I don't think we should investigate Toffee before we chat with Janna.

Also, it could very well be that Arizona is apart of the Masquerade. The only reason why Russ was able to search Hawaii was that we got a critical success.
Personally, I'd rather investigate Toffee in the same turn as talking with Janna. That way we get all the information at once and can act on it next turn if needed, instead of spreading the actions out over multiple turns. It's likely enough to succeed that I don't feel it's necessary to wait and hope that Janna lowers the DC. Plus, if Janna sees that we've got an investigation on Toffee underway, she might focus more on talking about him.

And I don't think Arizona is part of a government cover up? We haven't gotten any information in or out of character that would imply the government is enforcing a Masquerade about Toffee, or anything to that nature. And, well, if Russ does refuse to investigate Toffee because Government Masquerade that's valuable information in and of itself.

... I actually think we should buy out Lee Industries this turn. See, liquidating a large amount of our funds will decrease our income, increasing the DC for buying companies, inlcuding Lee Industries. So we should either buy Lee Industries now while also liquidating our assests, or wait to liquidate them next turn.
The cause and effect cuts both ways. To buy out a corporation we have to liquidate assets, because we're paying for things in cash. If we buy out a corporation this turn, we'll have fewer assets that can be readily liquidated next turn. The DC of the "stockpile money" action may still be 0, but we should expect worse results than we'd get otherwise.

Why those when we have these?

[ ] Do some introspection about Norm
[ ] Look into the Dickens Detective Agency
To be fair, waiting until we've done one more round of AI work to introspect about Norm is maybe worth it, maybe... But the "stories online" thing is something we're interested in for totally different reasons than the detective agency. It's speculated to be a possible way to hire Phineas and Ferb, and even if it isn't, it provides plot hooks.

The norm action is boosted by our AI research, and we have two relatively easy learning actions for AI lined up.

Plus he's out of commission for now so maybe not the best timing.
To be fair, Norm IS ambulatory; we interacted with him during the Coffee Java creation update.

-[-] Recruit new employees (CoS: 86%, 95% w/ XP)
--[-] Wile E. Coyote, Genius
-[-] Excavate Chicken Itza (CoS: 70%, 80% w/ XP)
--[-] Janna Ordonia
I'd rather hold off a turn on 'Employees' and focus on ACME Special Delivery, for the reasons others have discussed. We're gonna want to recover the castle soon, and that's hard, so improving our logistics capability for that kind of long distance operation seems very desirable.

-[-] Doof
--[-] Chat with the Bossman: Janna
--[-] Read your Spellbook
--[-] Make up with Roger
--[-] Make up with Roger
I'm pretty sure we can't take two actions on "Make up with Roger," and even if we could, I'd prefer not to.

-[-] Major Francis Monogram
--[-] Make up with Roger
Wait what?

-[-] Hego
--[-] Work on Deal with 'The Resistance'
Wait what? I oppose this, see my previous post...

Personal action dr. Doofenshmirtz
[] write in
Announce high-speed underground Railway between Cheyenne Salt Lake City Fort Collins and doofania city on social media ( I think Fort Collins is on our side of the Doofenshmirtz shego border well Denver is on shego's side)
@DReznov , do you actually have any interest in participating in this thread other than to repeatedly suggest weird, highly specific action options that appeal to your personal sensibilities?

Personally, I'd rather investigate Toffee in the same turn as talking with Janna. That way we get all the information at once and can act on it next turn if needed, instead of spreading the actions out over multiple turns. It's likely enough to succeed that I don't feel it's necessary to wait and hope that Janna lowers the DC. Plus, if Janna sees that we've got an investigation on Toffee underway, she might focus more on talking about him.
I would rather have Doof be aware of what Toffee is before jumping in. It is unwise to not investigate after we have talked with Janna.

More likely than not, Arizona is apart of the Masquerade. We didn't know that Russ wouldn't investigate Hawaii without a critical success before it happened. I do not want to risk that happening and completely waste an Intrigue Action.

Because introspection is how people have character development, and Doof shouldn't be hiding for 10 months from this revelation.
This, however, is a fair point. Delaying an action like this until the mechanically optimal time can be counterproductive; even Norm is starting to notice that Doof said he'd think about it and then never really... did.

Just a quick comment. There's no guarantee your personal introspection on Norm will turn out positive.
That... is also a fair point.

I'd really rather try and go two-for-two on our villain rehabilitation. And capitalize on the progress from last turn.
The problem is, Stanley's basically just another Learning hero; we already as many as we know what to do with. He's highly unlikely to provide unique quick benefits that are worth delaying Doof's character development for, and he's unlikely to be a good enough Learning hero that the combination of von Drake, Jookiba, and Lizzie can't handle whatever he handles.

Is it worth doing this action if we stack Von Drake and Doof on it? Since we're expecting conflict with Toffee, securing one of our other borders/allying with the robot army might be good, and those two have a combined score of 78. We'd still only be able to finish it in one turn on a crit explosion, but we could make good headway into cracking this.

I mean, putting another King in play whose only outside contact is us would be a priceless investment.
I agree with you, but we have other short term priorities. Also, AI research may lower the DC, since supercomputers are good at decryption and (OOC) we know the transmissions are coming from another AI.

This isn't an action like the personal ones where you can accumulate a score. you have to get over the DC to succeed.
True. We could hope to shoot for a "Normal Failure" on a 22 or higher on the dice that might lower the DC, but we could also roll low and Critical Fail.

Then what do you want her to do? Honestly there is nothing really important Vanessa can do right now and I just want to have her shadow job Doof. I'll go with your choice.
I disagreed with your reasoning more than anything else. Though it might be a good idea to instead have Vanessa shadow Doof the turn before the action, and have her go to the rave this turn. I don't really care all that much.

I'm really torn on the Stewardship option, I get the logic in saving money for the auction but I'm also very worried that someone else will swoop on and buy Lee Industries if we continue to delay it which would cost us an opportunity to gain all their resources and a high Stewardship and Learning hero
The problem I see is that, unless I've flubbed the math, ACME Delivery is a relatively risky action to try normally. It has a DC of 95, so with Wile's +26 and Doof's +24, we're looking at a 56% base success chance. But as things are now, it's a bit too difficult for me to feel comfortable attempting without a reroll.
Most people, myself included, are of the belief that Wile E. will get a bonus to it due to his extensive history with ACME
This, however, is a fair point. Delaying an action like this until the mechanically optimal time can be counterproductive; even Norm is starting to notice that Doof said he'd think about it and then never really... did.
At the very least we could argue that in the intervening time Doof has become aware of how advanced AI can become and judging Norm on how he is now rather than what he can become soon wouldn't be fair
Stanley is probably also a decent Stewardship hero given that he apparently ran a fairly successful construction company before going full supervillain
I agree with you, but we have other short term priorities. Also, AI research may lower the DC, since supercomputers are good at decryption and (OOC) we know the transmissions are coming from another AI.
It's worth noting that I don't think the transmission is actually encrypted, it's just that Von Flugel and her subjects communicate in a way that is so advanced that it's completely incomprehensible to humans which probably still means advancing our AI would lower the DC

What benefits would Janna's information actually provide to the investigation? She left that area several months ago, so she wouldn't know what's currently going on there. And neither Doof or Russ need to know Toffee's life story to go and investigate what is occurring in his territory. We don't need to know that Toffee is an interdimensional warlord to send Russ to see what's going on. I'm not denying that Janna would give us genuine and important information about Toffee, I'm just doubting that Russ needs to know all that to conduct a preliminary investigation into Toffee's territory and what he's currently doing in Arizona. Janna is useful for telling us who Toffee is and what he ultimately wants. Russ can tell us what Toffee is doing right now. We don't need one to find out the other, even if we absolutely should get both.

And okay, but where is the proof that Arizona is part of the Masquerade? Russ' reluctance to investigate Hawaii was specifically because of the fact that the government was the one enforcing the Masquerade that Hawaii was exploded. We have no proof of a Masquerade in Arizona, nor do we have proof of high government involvement in Arizona, thus it is far less likely that Russ will refuse to investigate. Unless we just don't assign Russ actions at all, we're going to have to risk that he'll say no. And assigning him an action to investigate someone unaffiliated with the US Government with no evidence that he'd be breaking a Masquerade while doing so is about as low risk as you can get in that department.

Having an idea what to watch out for? Like, this way Russ would know which individuals are actually important (characters), the behaviors of the magical people in arizona, and places Toffee would likely use or have his men stationed in. Just little bits of info to start off rather than going full blind and have Russ literally stalking some randoms to even get some info. Like Mina Loveberry for example. The only thing that would make Russ suspect her for anything more than a Hobo is if he knows Mewmans physical characteristic.
