Go to sleep for a few hours and the thread explodes.

When Doofenshmirtz thinks about Doofania, when we use 'Doofania' in the narrative, he imagines it as an absolute dictatorship helmed by him, where all representative systems, if they exist at all, hold no power over the will of an absolute sovereign.
- snip -
in the case of some more observant units, as an aspirational goal they think Doof is working towards. Doof is not working towards it. He thinks he already has it.
A few turns ago this made sense. But as of now it rather clashes with the situation as presented.

Doof isn't an absolute dictator even of DEI. He has a council with veto power over him. And thus far the narrative has shown nothing to indicate he is at all against the arrangement.
DEI tracks Public Opinion, factoring it into whether actions are viable or desirable. How representative PO is I don't know but it clearly has a degree of power over Doof's actions.

Either Doof has already accepted that Doofania isn't currently a thing or his definition of Doofania has already changed to not require his uncontested decision making.

These are the ones who would not start taking growing loyalty penalties if Doofenshmirtz started taking intelligent actions to make Doofania real. I.E., attempting to collapse the US Government and then taking as much of their place as possible once they can't stop you.
I note that this is specifically about trying to carve Doofania out of the US. Not about renaming Drusselstein to Doofania or planting flags on other worlds.

most people aren't persecuted enough to want to uproot their entire lives.
At the risk of 'current RL events'… refugees are a thing. There are something like 80 million of them in the would at the moment depending on who you count.

On a world of 7 billion you don't need 'most' to still have a great many.

In terms of making the land a better place, or profitable, you're unlikely to get much more than breaking even. Drusselstein really, really does suck. A lot.
Eh, money is a means to an end. And ending the current state of Drusselstein is a very worthy end.

…I wonder how Drusselstein compares to Mewni? SvtfoE wasn't big on setting exploration but the place seemed fairly 'Dung Age' from what we saw of it.

Yes, actually. In fact, Agent Russ would tell you that until recent events, a significant faction in the CAIA considered a shadow war between Kronos and Drakktech a near-inevitability in the long term, and were debating how to prepare for that.
It suddenly occurs that Russ is just as capable of being Doof's man inside the government as the gov's man inside DEI. Should his loyalty permit such.

I doubt Russ will ever work for us over the government unless they start like, mass dipping Toons or something. He's been in the FBI for his entire life and has almost certainly done some shit.

He likes us, but to make him more loyal to us then the Feds they have to be actively, horrifically evil. Cover-Ups arent enough for this.

The issue isnt science silly, its that we go to ask for help and they decide our trousers are the wrong color and to burn us as a witch.
Dude, don't double post.

As for me, I'd rather we just set up our "out of jurisdiction" laboratories on deserted planets and we use Drusselstein to create our "weirdo utopia"

Sorry, my bad. Dont really know how to add quotes to an existing post on mobile :/

Political reform in Drusselstein is likely fairly hard to do. Just because its, well, Drusselstein. Might be endcap action.

You edit the previous one and copy paste the quote from the new comment writing box.

And I don't want to reform it, that's a pointlessly hard idea.
I want to get them to leave us alone aside from taking our money when they give us a cryptid or anything magical.

Guess it depends on what the Illuminati are actually up to and the nature of their yet unclear connection to Bill. Though the fact that the whole "representative government" thing is almost certainly a lie, at least as far as top ranking officials, might be enough on its own.

Do we have anything indicating that the Illuminati is still around and kicking? If they were I'd think the world wouldn't be in such a precarious situation as it currently is
Matt Bluestone had a significantly mysterious pin of some kind, implying that he's currently a member.

As for the world being in a precarious situation, that depends on their connection to Bill. If they're actively working to bring about Weirdmaggeddon in hopes of receiving godhood, the world being ill equpped to stop him is to their advantage.

Do remember, Celena's fortune telling said they should be helpful against it, iirc

To be more exact, we should work with those in authority.

...hard to imagine that NOT being the government in the case of a surprise lunarion invasion but best to be specific I suppose.

Assuming it is the moon invasion...

...

Prophecies are vague, OK.

I'd guess the Illuminati splintered into two separate factions considering the objective that I can't quote right now.

I was talking about her second, not the third (and latest) fortune telling, but my memory isn't the best.
Celena shuffled the cards like a shark, doing a few tricks seemingly out of habit before laying them out on the table. This time Tom was actually able to tell her the star-months in Mewni, avoiding the need for a d12.

"The Problem." Celena said, holding up the first card. "The King. Sign of compassion, aid, and forgiveness. As a problem, it can represent someone who needs these… or, it could be a sign that aid and forgiveness you hope to provide will be poisoned. It is modified by the sign of the Silkworm, a sign of intelligence, independence, and secrecy. This could represent the person who needed helping, or the person who provides help. Or it could speak to the situation itself."

Celena moved to the next card, a four-armed woman with butterfly wings and swords in hand. "The Past, Battle Strength. Victory, strength and achievement. Someone related to this prophecy has succeeded incredibly, and recently. It is modified by the Pony Head, a sign of allure, admiration and mystery. It is very similar to the tadpole in this alignment… it is possible it refers to the same person as that reading. In which case, someone has recently achieved great success in an area you hope to help others, or others need help."

The next card was the blue Master of the Book, the same card that so concerned Celena in the last reading.

"The Master represents challenge, sacrifice, consequence, and the facing of reality as it truly is. With the sheer mystery swirling around this reading… there is something you do not know, a threat, a challenge, or something lost. You do not understand what is going on, and if you act rashly without that knowledge, it could be disastrous."

"That sounds important." Janna interjected. "What's it about?"

"I do not know." Celena replied. "I know little of this DEI, you will need to put the pieces together yourself. Perhaps the last card will help you."

Celena drew a sun, smiling madly. "The rising sun. Personal gain, success. An opportunity. Modified by the Pig-Goat… sign of hyperactivity, fun-loving, stubbornness, impulsivity, and a difficulty following society's rules. There is a person, someone who fits this description, who will be of great use to you in cutting through this tangle. With their aid you can avoid potential disaster, and reap incredible reward. Watch for someone hyperactive, fun-loving, impulsive and pigheaded. Despite their negative qualities, they will be a blessing in disguise."
Celena spun the cards a second time. "Problem. True Love, modified by the… Blowhole. Hmm, this is a tough one. True love is a crossroads, an approaching fork, but as Tobe knows it can also be a more literal union…"

"I have love magic!"

"Sure you do Tobe." Janna replied.

"What is he talking about?" Tom blinked.

"So it could be that the problem here stems from some sort of trouble in a literal love affair. As for the blowhole, that means someone who is…" Celena squinted at the cards. "...down to earth? This is a weird one."

Shaking Tobe's head, Celena continued. "The past is Shooting Star, modified by the Tadpole, sign of the eccentric free spirit, yadda yadda, yeah this is Star, it's clearly Star, no question, we know she's involved in the past of this whole mess. Hrm. She's a lot more… recent than I would have expected though."

"She was involved recently?!?" Tom yelled. "Will we see her?!?"

"Uhhh…" Celena said nervously, flipping over the next card. "Let's see, the Present is… the Hungry One. A sign of provision, safety and plenty. No, based on what you've told me on how she's doing we're not getting anything about Star in the present. Modified by the Pixie, sign of togetherness. I think this might be about you guys."

"What?"

"Like, you've sort of found a port in the storm here, right? And allies and so on? I think it's saying you're in the best spot you can be right now for dealing with what's coming."

"The crazy pharmacist is our best bet? Really?" Tom asked. "Well that's just great."

"Well the alternate interpretation is that your enemy has obtained the things and allies they need to achieve whatever they want to accomplish."

Tom blanched. "All right fine, I'll take the pharmacist."

"I don't pick the cards. Well I mean, I do, actually, pick the cards, but um…"

"You can just go ahead and draw the last card now." Janna supplied.

"Oh, right right." Celena replied. "The Path might be the biggest update on the situation, since it deals with… uh oh."

Celena drew the Queen, modified by the Deadhorse. "Strength… and death. She has the Power she has sought. But it is not enough. There is another She seeks."

Janna blinked. "What is it?"

As the light began to leave Tobe's eyes, Celena whispered:

"The Kingdom and the Glory."
Heres the 2 prophecies from the second summoning. The first is related to DEI the second to Star Butterfly. What they mean is vague, because Tarot readings are always vague. I have just finished my geology class and am not in a good space for this (To busy thinking about how the Himalayas are almost done growing).

Outcome: Steals (part of) the Great Wall Of China. Enough to completely encircle downtown Danville. The mechanism is volume swapping teleportation. Is not a perfect circle, only cuts a few buildings in half. Surface level roads and utilities are cut off, but by fiat noone dies from crashing into suddenly appearing walls.

Well... stealing national monuments would certainly be one way of breaking into the international scene

Some parts of the wall are pretty remote. I bet you could take enough to encircle Danville and they would not notice for a few weeks.

I feel like people would probably be able to recognize the architecture and someone would probably check given the fact that no one saw any construction crews

... come to think of it, would China have any interesting villains right now?

Considering that Talespin is part of this quest, maybe that floating city of Panda-Ren with their heat-seeking missiles?

Don't be rude. Exhausting the other person until they leave at like 4 AM is not the same as winning an argument.

I'm not going to touch the Doofania subject for now, but you should be mindful of how you reply to other users in the thread. Otherwise, they will stop replying back.
My apologies. And also, apologies if that sounded sarcastic at all, I was genuinely thanking him for putting in the effort of trying to talk to me even if he doesn't really get what I'm trying to say.

It wasn't about winning an argument at all, there's really no arguments I will be winning in this issue. I'm just concerned that a significant portion of the playerbase might not see the need to have a goal beyond continuing to do what we're already doing.

Saying there is nothing left to do in this story after Doof learns to not be delusional isn't quite true. He is still absurdly petty, has a cast of colorful characters that he has to learn and deal with, various villains and monsters to remove, and most importantly, get elected president somehow!
Hmmmm, getting elected president could be something of a long-term goal that we don't already have, and it would be fantastically hard to achieve.
