Yeah this is really disappointing.

I was expecting some thing like Doof's mint trait for stewardship or a magic version of Inators or something to represent a massive increase in weirdness.

this trait sabotages his entire point. That's like if Doof had a trait that cut his learning in half he's already super limited in the fact that he can't do anything he can't go anywhere on missions. He has no idea how tech works , he can't fight worth a damn outside of magic, even with his trait we have better intriuge options there, and he can't even do diplomacy because well he's stuck here.

this is the guy we had to literally move a castle halfway around the world for in aHerculean multi turn project to even gear up for a chance to make it work.

as it stands he's going to eat up so much more of our time that we could spend putting out other fires.

But how? How do we improve them? I'm honestly stumped on what we can do to make them any better. They don't want to do easy stuff, they're too incompetent to do hard stuff, and their egos make them nigh-impossible to train to make better.
Ludivine has a personal action that can be used to 'Instruct' another hero to improve them.

I've been trying to get that action taken to improve LOVEMUFFIN, but others keep insisting that she is much more useful elsewhere.

I've been trying to get that action taken to improve LOVEMUFFIN, but others keep insisting that she is much more useful elsewhere.

The problem with that is that they don't think they need to learn anything at all. Just look at his character sheet:

Stop Sidelining Us!: -30 (LOVEMUFFIN does not appreciate you keeping them off of the important projects. They demand to work on something deserving of their vast intellects!)
I don't want the alliance to get shot to hell before its even established.

Shego isn't going to discover what we did if we don't tell her.

Hey guys! I know I've been busy and the trading cards fell to the wayside, but I'm going through the backlogs and powering through! As an apology, I'm giving you these three for free!

The rest will trickle down over the next few days. I might even be on time with the next update!

FG with money reserves of YES having 6 stars in Stewardship makes sense, as does Dracula Duck being an ok all-rounder

But Negaduck being able to punch in the same weight class as Shego and even friggin Globby is really something to note.

Oh no, L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. is unhappy about being marginalized. If only there was some high-importance yet low-DC science project we could throw them at them at a time they're guaranteed to crit-succeed at a regular success.

What a terrible tragedy that we don't have access to any such options.
Jumba has completed his sequencing of the human genome with incredible speed; because he's already done it!

Research Superpowers Learning action re-opened! Rewards increased! DC greatly reduced!
Oh wait.

Plus they worked on it before, so narratively maybe they can avoid the head growth problem.

Or maybe make it even bigger for more learning!

Let's spend the next turn increasing everyoe's loyalty. And maybe giving hero units super powers if we have that program up and running.

Look at Negaduck's martial. I guess that's what happens when a toon is utterly murderous and completely willing to use lethal force. It also makes me think Doom might be packing a similar martial score in direct combat as well since he's also a toon with zero scruples, zero empathy, and has a love of death, misery, and pain.

As Futurama's Bender once comforted Fry when he was despairing over his inability to tell good from evil:

"Eh, they're both fine choices."

Big heads, small heads, heads connected by a series of tubes to form a single brain, heads in jars, whatever could make them more useful.

hmm… Two negatives might make a positive?

Is there any chance we might use LOVEMUFFIN to offset Malifishmertz penalty? It would mean introducing him to them, which is a chance to backfire as were breaking a few veils doing so.
Set them up as a long term project to codify the paranormal haunting of our new castle. And overseeing the modernization of it with all the amenities such as electricity and indoor plumbing.
passive observations and consensual interactions only, since the ghost is supposedly one of our ancestors. but this is a whole new field of SCIENCE to catalog. oh, and so is his magic, can they define his magic in scientific terms?

LOVEMUFFIN gets an important project with potentially world shaking results. even if it's not in truth and likely impossible.
Malifishmertz gets a troop of Minions to boss around, and familiarize him with the modern world.

Hmm I don't quite see them appreciating that.

Just because it may be important in the long run to society / Doof doesn't mean they would see it that way, especially the 'modernizing the castle' aspect. Seems like they would view it as degrading.

On the other hand, going "figure out how magic works, scientifically, and if we can just make a machine that casts spells or whatever" would presumably be something their into?

It's mostly just phrasing, isn't it?

Difference is that Doom has to at least pretend that he is more than a murderous psycho and that he is a mere human...Negaduck has no such limiters.

But yeah, once "unshackled" Doom will probably be be boosting similar-if-not-more Martial compared to ND.

But Negaduck being able to punch in the same weight class as Shego and even friggin Globby is really something to note.
Negaduck has the tremendous advantage of being (I hope) the most violent toon in the setting.

Globby has to work within the confines of physics and chemistry, even if some of the options he has within those options are insane. Shego is, when you get right down to it, a physically agile and maybe mildly superhumanly strong woman who can shoot plasma bolts from her hands.

Negaduck is a homicidal maniac reality warper who can survive immolation, having an anvil dropped on him, and other assorted horrifying injuries with minimal consequences, who can and does regularly summon weapons out of thin air "because it's funny," and who just won't stop trying to kill you once he's taken it into his head to do so.

...Could we somehow sicc Doom and Negaduck on each other and simply finish off whoever of the two comes out on top?

Of course we´d need to neutralize Doom Dip reserves first.

I'd be delighted; if we ever see an opportunity I'm all for it.

Eh. If Doom kills Negaduck it's win-win in spite of the propaganda victory for him. And I wouldn't put it past Negaduck, much like the Phantom Blot, to have Doom figured out.

Meeh, I´d prefer it to be a more even fight without one of them having a "silver bullet", so that they can drag each other down into the mud and we can simply end it without much fuzz

How's this as a plan of sorts? I think it addresses most of the issues.

[] Plan: Wrap It Up
- [] National Actions
-- [] Assault a Rival (Kitsune)
--- [] The Morganians
---- [] Steal an Encantus
-- [] Reach out to Magical New York (Goofy)
-- [] Warn Shego about the probability shift (Mirage)
-- [] Improve DoofOS security (Alan Bradley) - Estimated 85% chance of success, with XP and personal attention. Perhaps higher with CJ working on it as well.
-- [] Lead a company retreat (Coyote) - Probably 90% chance of success with XP.
-- [] Infiltrate a Hotspot (Tobe)
--- [] Cape Suzette - 94% Chance of Success with XP.
-- [] Infiltrate a Hotspot (Agent Russ)
--- [] Las Vegas - 95% CoS with XP.
-- [] Large Herbivore Domestication (Jumba) - 99% CoS with XP.
-- [] Research Exotic Vehicles (Janus Lee) - 90% CoS with XP before the DC was lowered.
-- [] Research Superpowers (L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N.) - Only if the DC has gone down enough for them to be able to handle it. If the DC is 70, then the CoS would be 86% with XP.
-- [] Study the Crystal Key (Malfishmertz) - 82% CoS with XP.

- [] Personal Actions
-- [] Doofenshmirtz

Unfortunately, spying on employees seems to be too high of a DC for even Russ to reliably get this turn.

Huh. Seems legit to me, but stealing an Encantus sounds kind of risky- wouldn't it be easier to just put Kitsune on reaching out to magical New York? Then we could free up another Diplomacy action, while we put Wasabi on fortifying. Meanwhile, I'm fairly sure the option of investigating Hawk's death should be opened up, so I'd advise waiting to see that DC and then potentially putting Russ on it.

I still think LOVE MUFFIN can potentially deal with Greevil recycling- they'll take a further loyalty hit, but I think that it being a crit success and it having to do with AI should mitigate that to a certain extent, and we can use PAs from other heroes to improve them. Also, side note, we can consider Coyote to have a +5 this turn, since if we do the coin flip thing, anything that adding 5 would make a crit success will happen, meaning that if it'll make a difference, it will come up positive.

Kitsune's Goblin Fox is active to my knowledge (just checked her recently updated profile to see if personal actions count, they don't), so she has to be put on something that's detrimental to a rival such as Assault a Rival, and any way that "Reach out to Magical New York" counts as that is either extremely vague or out-of-character information to my understanding.

I accounted for Coyote's +5, that's exactly why I put him there instead of Roddy.

Personally, I doubt that investigating Hawk's death will be as an 80 DC check, but sure.

I'm curious if L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. could take a personal action through the write-in. There's probably some reason why we didn't do that despite their low loyalty and stats, right?

Iirc, spying has an ~80 CoS with the Commodore. Who we should be hiring because it means an action more.

I really don't think assigning LOVEMUFFIN to work on literal garbage is a good idea when they're at -40 loyalty already. I fully expect that they'd quit on the spot rather than do it.

This could actually be an interesting quest, well done. 500XP!

The Journey West: Hopeful News
The Wasteland has a lot of opportunity for Mad Max nonsense. 500XP!

Lanada Interlude: L.A.M.E.
I remember this show! ...sort of. It seems to be going about how well I recall it. There's really not much here that interfers with canon one way or the other, so you can consider this 'basically what is happening offscreen', if you'd like. 500XP!

Wendy Wower's Science Hour
You haven't done Wendy's personals yet, but I can definitely see this happening. This gets a Provisionally Canon- send me a message if the band ever votes yes on it!
A Melancholy Refrain
There are some things that can't be replaced. 500XP.

Kitsune's Goblin Fox is active to my knowledge (just checked her recently updated profile to see if personal actions count, they don't),
After being assigned to an action where she does not inflict physical, mental, social, or spiritual harm to someone, she must cause harm or take a personal action on the subsequent turn.
She did defenses on September/October, which did not hurt anyone except her inner demons. That made her need to cause harm or do a personal action on November/December. She did that, so she should be able to do anything for January/February. It being activated should be a mistake, and if not, we still can do a personal action with her.

Kitsune's profile read as "Goblin Fox is active this turn" and I just assumed that it meant next turn due to the timing of it, I guess. My bad.

Edit: In fairness, to my understanding there's no real reason to put Kitsune on Diplomacing Magical New York instead of Goofy since they have the same Diplomacy score.
