It's not pressuring the hivemind to commit, it's inviting the hivemind to commit. No-one is pressured into voting for that; you could simply make a fork of the plan without that line.To me, it seems to be pressuring the hivemind to commit to a course of action at some point in the near future, with unknown penalties if we don't. Even though said penalties appear to be trivial in the grand scheme of things, my gut instict tells me to refuse the bargain on principle alone.
Or not vote.trivial consequences that you're still uncomfortable with inviting, and which therefore incentivize you to honour the commitment.
Well, yes? That's what I said.
That requires convincing the hivemind to vote for an interlude instead of an action plan somewhere in the near future, and then assumes that the QMs would be in the mood to write an interlude instead of a proper update that cycle.I mean, hells, if you care so much about the Forbidden Lore why not ask Kagome to write a friggin' report and have it put on our desk, then the QMs can write an Interlude about it or something.
Point of order: I don't believe its as simple as "Have Kagome yammer on about stuff." , theres more complex chains of potential interactions there. You'd want to have the dominos fall just right to get the optimal impact, or close enough to it anyway.Or not vote.
Or make a competing plan.

It sounds like a fun interlude to write, so your odds aren't that bad. Last time, both @eaglejarl and I enjoyed writing Kagome's forbidden lore rants and then leaving the players to try to disentangle the revelatory truths from the misunderstood half-truths and the delusional ravings. That requires convincing the hivemind to vote for an interlude instead of an action plan somewhere in the near future, and then assumes that the QMs would be in the mood to write an interlude instead of a proper update that cycle.
What about an Akatsuki Book summary? Kagome-written, of course. It sounds like a fun interlude to write, so your odds aren't that bad. Okay, the commitment thing's been discussed and I have no issues with removing/modifying it, but why is everyone so allergic to the modified Implosion Seals idea? It's not that harder than these Megalovania seals people are so excited about, and it promises to be at least as effective — if it's doesn't turn out to be as bullshit as Skywalkers. But no-one wants to even discuss it in-universe. Why?

I'll be honest, I don't think they'd work based on my understanding of the "implosion" damage caused by implosion seals, and also because I think you're underestimating the difficulty of storing things at a distance without contacting the seal. But if it does work...why do we need Air Domes? The air around the seal, which should still be present when it's activated, should expand to prevent damage from secondary explosion.Okay, the commitment thing's been discussed and I have no issues with removing/modifying it, but why is everyone so allergic to the modified Implosion Seals idea? Edit: We really shouldn't use Air Domes...they're solidified air which might interact with Implosion Seals to produce Undefined Behavior.
Sure, done.@Noumero mind having Tsunade check Noburi for shadow clones as well as summoning?
I can't believe I forgot we tested that, fuck me.Implosion Seals already store air at a distance; that was the foundation of SINs, how we produce filled-but-intact Implosion Seals (by encasing them in MEW).
We can test that pretty easily: just have an implosion seal detonate underground such that the inrushing air has to smack itself, then measure the damage with clones or something.I fear it'll expand violently, tearing you apart or something. Or air rushing from the outside into the hollow sphere does that.
I don't see why we need the commitment. Either say we are doing it this update. Or vote on it next update.Commit to doing a big Forbidden Lore meeting doubling as a war-room strategy talk the next evening.
If you put it in the background section maybe. I don't want it to use up a scene though, those are a precious commodity.
Keiko's spent little more than a month with Nara. How long has she spent with us? Sure, the Nara will probably use their collective knowledge of psychological manipulation on Keiko. But...actually, I feel like Keiko might be quite susceptible to psychological manipulation. Oh dear.Keiko being tested between her Gouetsu loyalties and her Nara loyalties
Personally I think that we need to focus more on the war than the scroll. But it makes me curious how Hiashi was willing to pay so much to get Neji the scroll when the war might make it irrelevant. Unless ninja wars last a while in which case he's hoping Neji becomes a summoner midway through the war?I think recent events have shown that we really need to get the snake scroll
I am interested in seeing a PoO Hazo talking to a spiritual leader like the new high priest or grandmaster F.You know... if we were willing to delay SC... Prophet of the Out has some interesting narrative effects.
I'm not saying it's a wise descision, but I am saying that bringing a bodhisattva to a religious leader fight seems like a good way to win.
[x] Action Plan: Stick Your Appendages Everywhere
Wordcount: 298
Intended duration: 1 day.
- Message Keiko to arrive as soon as convenient, to discuss "a Pangolins-related matter".
- It may be a few hours before Keiko arrives. Offer Yuno a guest room if she wants to stay longer.
- Ask Mari to summarize global and local politics to her. "Especially the Hokage's external-politics views."
- Incidentally, did Yuno speak to Mori Ami?
- Covertly offer Noburi and Yuno an opportunity to speak privately.
- Once Keiko arrives, discuss privately (Team Uplift only):
- What's Mari's take on Isan? Does Keiko want to go take over? Is Noburi interested in the marriage?
- Pragmatically, it's a good opportunity. You're inclined to go along.
- Takahashi had mentioned getting "concessions" from Azai — could they be working together?
- Kagome:
- Proposal: Modify Implosion Seals to not store air within a 2-meters radius.
- In combat, a team erects a 1.9-meters Air Dome around itself, then activates the seal. The team's unhurt; everyone else within 20 meters dies instantly.
- Could it be developed in a month? How powerful would it be?
- Ask him about Cloud's "weird religion thing".
- Keiko:
- Ask to send messages via Pangolins:
- To the Crows and the Sharks: An invitation for Akatsuki to open dialogue with us.
- To the Mara's Summoner, Grandmaster F: We want to discuss philosophy, entirely apolitically.
- Might require political capital with Pangolins. Would she be willing to sell non-combat seals, or wood/food?
- Update Yuno.
- Background:
- Ask Noburi to prank you if you forget to have a clan discussion on "outside-context problems" within two day.
- Ask Tsunade to check Noburi's suitability for Summoning and Shadow Clones; no time to play games with Kabuto.
- Buy a multi-floor tavern/inn still damaged from the sealing failure.
- Schedule a Games Night on February 15/16. Invite Keiko + Team Gai (important), KEI ninja, and a bunch of other peers.
Regarding Asuma, we asked that in the previous plan; see this chapter for her response. Regarding the consequences, I'm pretty sure we can imagine them.Consider asking Mari whether we should bring up contacting Akatsuki to Asuma to bring to Hiashi. And the consequences if we can't convincingly make it seem like Akatsuki contacted us to Hiashi and Leaf
It's not going to be a full scene; a third of it at most.If you put it in the background section maybe. I don't want it to use up a scene though, those are a precious commodity.
Pretty sure it'd last for a few weeks at most, per Jiraiya.
She never answered how she thought he would respond. She proposed an idea that might be better, but not necessarily. We might still go to Asuma.Regarding Asuma, we asked that in the previous plan; see this chapter for her response.
I'm pretty sure her response meant that she thinks Hiashi will decline on principle. She never answered how she thought he would respond. She proposed an idea that might be better, but not necessarily. We might still go to Asuma.
Sure, done.If you could add "Explosive seals that detonate upon the seal being partially destroyed or partially ruin (i.e. wet, torn, burnt, etc.)" to the research questions?

Yeah Mari gave us the go ahead to freelance thisI'm pretty sure her response meant that she thinks Hiashi will decline on principle.
