I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

My brain farted reading this. I got the first part, saying you actually thought that. But what the hell is the second part talking about?

Sort of thought that kind of thing was always a bit dickish using something completely meta and outside the story to fuck with the quest voters.
It's normally done with rolls and is quite fun, it's like making certain rolls do something extra because it is specifically that roll. Like 69. I can see why it'd be annoying for some people, but I can't understand why it's a dick move?

People who aren't familiar with Warhammer being confused when a seemingly innocuous result causess one of the four embodiments of all that is, was, and ever will be wrong with the setting jut their nose in and make things worse?
No, I can't possibly see why a mechanic that solely exists to add an extra 4% chance of every roll being a critical failure would be poorly received.

Essentially if chaos numbers appear in the dice rolls in quests i've seen where it's used it super charges negative consequences.

No, I can't possibly see why a mechanic that solely exists to add an extra 4% chance of every roll being a critical failure would be poorly received.

It's worse if it's impacting in d100s I've seen it used where it corrupts from the 10s digits, so a whole chunk of the upper dice range is essentially cursed.

Second I've never seen those dice be counted as a Crit fail, ever. I'm actually curious which quest you saw that happen as I want to check it out just to see what kinda QM that is.

I've only seen it affect rolls with an influencing of how the action is done. For instance I can't remember which quest this was, it was a 40k quest about a recovering civilization just after mankind got screwed over. But one of the rolls was 88 which caused the Mc to go berserk and beat serious ass.

That's the only things I've seen these rolls used for, not Crit fail but just adding flavor and a direction for how these actions end up going.

I'm not angry. I am merely pointing out that introducing a random chance of the fundamental issues with the Warhammer Setting as a whole a chance to stick their nose into events is not a good thing.

It's not a fundamental issue at all, what you're describing is the QM being a dick of whatever quest did that. I can understand it not being your thing, but it's not like it ruins the quest it's just something that's there. A preference.

Seriously which quest did that, it sounds like I could use it to improve my writing/QM ability just by seeing hiccups or what have you.

Edit: Age of strife was the quest, I love that one.
