On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

-[X] March: Grimnir the Valiant calls, who are you to not answer? Campaign with the Great Throng as it marches through the region. For the next ten years you will walk amongst the greatest examples of your people, partaking in the campaigns. Smiting enemies and perhaps even discussing things with a few dwarfs while you're at it. [Cost: 4 actions] Interlude Turns. These are not battle turns, Interlude Turns will be a series of updates happening over the decade, you get one choice an interlude turn. The number of Interlude turns = your unaltered total actions (which is 5)
--[X] 4 Actions
-[X] [Simple] Torques A Plenty: Elder Brokk has asked you specifically to create a set of Runic Torques, all meant to facilitate proper communication between what is clearly an avian and a dwarf. You remember Master Yorri told you about the time he bargained a few feathers off a Great Eagle. He never told you how, but you remember being taught a few odd runes in your past, just have to figure out which combination worked for Master Yorri. Maybe his book has something? Worst come to worst you could send a letter to the Dwarf. [Cost: 3 Actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc.

I wonder if we're going to get any inspiration rolls for hanging with an Ancestor God as he smites gribblies. He seemed to mildly approve of Snorri, if that second sniff and the grunt was anything to go about.

You guys think he'd mind if Snorri just stared at his banner/personal rune and Grimnir himself/his weapons for a bit? See what inspiration Snorri could draw from it.

How much progress do we have with the underway that is going to happen naturally. If it finishes during this turn do we automatically get miners looking into our firestones? Those could be handy for the war if it lasts a long time.

Yeah they'll get to exploiting that soon. Mechanically nothing changes, just narratively.

Huh, I have a clarification question. The underway, was the progress until we hit where we needed to be to meet the other holds in their dig, or was it to meet where they were stalled/already dug too?

Like, was the progress to meet in the middle in some agreed upon place or did we straight up basically dig to their already present underway connection like the koolaid man?

Possible, depends on the QM. Personally hoping we get some insight by looking at any potential golems made by other Runelords.

Ok last Adamant theory I swear.
Maybe they didn't manually purify the Adamant but instead made a pure gromril armor and the taint was simply purified by sheer godly aura/proximity to the Ancestors as at least in my headcanon they are beings of order and intrinsically opposed chaos.
Furthermore being wildly powerful maybe their presence itself acts kinda like a Greater demon of chaos twisting reality in alignment towards their values, in the Ancestors case being order this would explain the lack of knowledge about it as possibly the Ancestor just purify gromril by sheer presence and never researched how to do it manually. Or maybe this is just wild speculation and it is just an extremely well kept secret

@soulcake I remember there is a rule about gromril that says it can only be made into plate armor , that only Grimnir alone is strong enough to bent gromril into scale and chain mail , would every individual scale and chain count as its own independent piece of armor in terms of runes craft with each one having its own runes adding up to hundreds of runes in a single set of gromril chain or scale mail would go a long way to explaining just how powerful Grimnir is and its not all that game breaking since only Grimnir could have armor like that ?

I think the no gromril chain is a technology problem. Making gromril ringlets is so difficult due to how tough gromril is.
Also, the rivet would still be a weak spot, so the gain over steel mail is probably not that great.
As for the runes per ring /scale... Too much work

-[X] Teach your apprentice. [Cost: 1 Action] Locked in for 1 turn.
-[X] [Simple] Apprentice work: your not that young, but still young, charges are now of an age you feel it acceptable for them to do a bit of exploration. Send your apprentices out into the hold and pick up a few tasks from whoever offers it to them. Give them a bit of experience for their upcoming task as journeymen and let them build a reputation in the hold. You'll of course critique their work and use it as a learning experience as any good master ought to. [Cost: variable apprentice actions.] Roll for usefulness. 1 Roll per apprentice action.

[X] The Rune Metal Pt. 4: You've made Adamant, a form of Gromril harder and stronger than any you've ever seen. The metal abhors magic, even that of Runes to some extent, making it difficult to inscribe on the metal itself. You need to find a way to make this in a less explosive fashion, and maybe figure out what exactly its properties are.[Cost: 8 actions] Student of the Odd and Mind for Metal will proc.
