On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I say we keep on pushing against the Fimir. The longer we wait, the more entrenched they'll get, the more time they have to adapt to us, the more time they'll spend messing with the Waystones, the more time they can spend getting reinforcements, etc. At the very least, I'd like to destroy the Nurglite city so we don't have to deal with ultra strong Fimir and daemons.

The question that I think faces us is: how many casualties do we want to pay to attempt a win?

Because if we try this again second verse identical to the first, we can win the first round with average instead of shitty luck. Even if the Nurglites are a little stronger from the Dead of this battle. Then the first Magic Round can store a Loss Cancelation for Round 2. Then on Round 2, if we get at least an even tie of two wins and two losses, we can pull out a win from the stored loss cancelation plus another loss cancel from the Magic Round 2. And that means we win the best of three.

It's possible.

Trying again and then adding Snorri in is something I see either meaning the math is a wash and both forces are equal (the more likely option imo) or the Fimir are a little weaker than him.

khorne V nurgal
not really friends most times. has been known too ally sometimes. still stopping now to maybe regroup and rethink how too do things might not be the worst idea. could maybe punch out some rune work of some type to help even things out a little more.
3/5 is not bad for a campaign.
We've only destroyed two cities.

The first phase of this war are the inland cities the 2 phase is the coast that we know the possible 3 phase would be we learn the fimir origins and invade albion to take them out and free the albish

The origins of the Fimir are probably not on Albion in this age, but in their moving island homeland. I may be wrong about that island home being a thing though.

E: Actually, I can't find the sources used for that idea so just ignore it. They come from the sea, somewhere out there.

Forgot that one but how likely is it they let that info lying around? In character for snorri would be thinking where ever this new people(mankind) come from is where the fimir hail

so a natural progression would be 3 phase albion and if we are lucky learning about the Island there creating a 4 phase

oh damm they got a moving island homeland….sadly I have to hand it to the fimir that super cool. Also where that from? On bright side dwarves will have to invent a ocean navy so we can finish the grudge against them :V
I think it got mentioned in the thread at an earlier point near the start of the campaign, but I can't find sources for it anymore.

A winter is the preferable season if you absolutely have to traverse a swamp. Since it gets, well, frozen. It might even be a good idea to wait until winter and then push on.
The campaign season in the Far North tends to stop entirely in the Winter because forces can't move west through the mountain passes.

[X] [Campaign] Push on: Strike once more, attack, hopefully break through and destroy the next Fimir City. Campaign continues. Losses from this point will not be replaced before the campaign season ends. The Fimir do not have a chance to prepare, but neither do you.

[X] [Snorri] Continue Storm. Don't stop doing what's been working so far. Of all that could change for the next time, whenever it happens, your part is not one such thing. Snorri continues to fight away from the Throng.

[X] [Snorri] Write In: Perhaps a change of approach is in order. Burn a path, such that the Throng marches in your wake through ash and dust instead of swamp and rot. The forces of the Plaguefather shall be sterilised in the fires of Skarrenbakaraz.

I would go for another round with the Nurglites with the reserve forces joining us, and then call it done for the campaign season.

Out of all the Chaos Gods, Nurgle is imho the worst one to leave entrenched.

Choosing to retreat now seems like the worst of both worlds. Already suffered losses but nothing to show for it.

Votings open, and I firmly believe we ought to try again. Just because we ran into one hiccup doesn't mean we should give up.

Go for it and then settle in for half a century of turtling up.

With this, if we Win the First Round and win the First Magic Round (very easy to win the Magic Round), and win the Second Magic Round (also easy) then the Nurglites need to sweep us in the Second Combat Round in order to even tie.

Very well. One more attempt, but we're done for the season. We've clearly reached our culminating point.
