I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Nice to see some real adversity around here. Our previous rival was something of a joke, so it is good to see real political opposition to the ideology of well let's call it Runic Utilitarianism. Obviously not good from an IC perspective, more in what it means for the narrative. We might actually have to play some politics to avoid being outmaneuvered.

So, Snerra getting recommended by Thungnir is awesome, but what does it mean for an apprentice, when their master didn't take the initiative to name their candidature? It looks like Snorri doubted his own judgment and Thungnir himself had to step in.

It says so: "That moment costs you."
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but that was one of the first things in this chapter that caused my stomach to do flip flops.

And it doesn't even function at full power if you aren't wearing the right suit of armour...
Although that deep magic thingamagigy does give him an idea for how to make Old Breaker even breakier.

Also, 4 choices that can fit both the chaos gods and the 4 top tier ancestor by Gods is pretty sus. Except Grimmnir. He's fighting Chaos. Tall one is thus Morgrim.

Forged Limb is its own thing, not a bastardization of a known rune.
It's also much less prestigious and more helpful to many dwarfs. It was necessary.
It would have been beyond heartless for anyone to object to or method. Also, we didn't actually advertise/brag about it. This time, you could make the case that we did brag.
People came to us for the runes, and if they were masters, we taught them.
 
Yea, totally don't get the 'It's a Chaos god/emissary' angle.

Seems far more likely that it's an Ancestor.

Something like that, could also swap Grungni/Thungni around.

Running under this assumption; I reckon Grungni or Thungni are the most interesting ones to have a meeting with. Snorri did literally complete Grungni's gromril chain challenge, seeing the 'atta boy' in person, and getting the next challenge will be cool.
