On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

why does everyone think it is going to be chaos btw?
shrug
We have four options. Considering the setting we are in, specific things will always be viewed in a certain context no matter how improbable they are. If we had seen something that even vaguely connects to the numbers 6 through 9, we would have made an immediate connection. The descriptions given to us are just vague enough to reinforce the mental image of the Chaos gods. Nobody here is sure of anything, but rather connecting the given information in context to the setting to fit an answer that could be applicable. It's probably a red herring.

The idea, that it's one of the Ancestors might also be true, but it wasn't immediately taken, because Snorri has already seen most of them and could have recognized them. As long as they don't have any disguises.

Point is. It could be everything, but because the information is extremely vague, we try to find something that fits the bill. No matter how wrong it turns out to be.

@soulcake Are we not also announcing our interest in teaching "Understand Valaya's Runes"? Or how is that mechanic going to work now that we are teaching 4 separate and unique runes?
We already have space for classes. I expect interest in direct learning will taper out as the knowledge spreads further.

So what he is saying, is if he made the runes, he would have kept them to himself without sharing to the guild because they suck compared to other widely known runes?
Also sounds like the outrage was based on thinking that Snorri thinks himself a peer to the Ancestors? That only the Ancestors are worthy of teaching their works to everyone?
Others have gotten pretty on the mark with it.

To Thorek it appears as if you are appointing yourself one of the most important and talented figures in his faith right in front of it's proverbial prophets and literal god. And are doing so by pointing out two shoddy, to him, things that you would dare equate to the works of those same individuals. The insinuation of your skill alone is an insult to Thungni and those Runelords in his mind, and the presence of those Runes on that very very small list would have devalued that list in his eyes.

Or more pettily put, like if you said Vanilla Ice was one of the top 10 most influential musicians in the History of Mankind in front of a very opinionated, gate-keepy, die-hard music fan AND like...Mozart.

I wonder what Kraggi will say if anyone compares "Old breaker" with zharrgal?
It's a smiths hammer with the master rune of conduction, that breaks weapons by melting them...

Also:
First to get an honor guard: Snerra (she beat even us there)
First master rune: Snerra
First to Runelord: Snerra
First married: Dolgi
First legendary deed: Dolgi
First apprentices: Fjolla

Any other noteworthy Firsts I missed?
First to Burudin?
First mythical deed?

Mozart can sit down. Nobodies ever made a meme of his music :V:V:V

"Good attempt but not good enough."
Remember Snorri even points out that Old Breaker is an ideal more than a design.

Ah closer than he expects, but Klausson cheats with that armour of his you see. The Hammer isn't that light through dint of its own construction, or at least as light as Old Breaker ought to be, it's just that he has improved strength from the armour that lets him swing it.

And the flame and destruction aren't right either, no, no, no, not beautiful enough for Old Breaker.

Don't even get him started on the decorative choices-
