On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Hm, can we just let Orra decide how she wants the ceremony to go, honestly? Don't see any reason for Snorri to be particularly inclined either way.

Ehh, I don't really want Brana retainers. Snorri doesn't have as much narrative connection with them as Dolgi.

I honestly dislike breaking tradition this much.
you do realise the entire point of the action we took was to get a brana in the retinue right?
that's why the plan name had and catbirds in it in the first place

Alright since they asked I say we take on the Brana not like many people will say no(I do feel this going a bit to far radical even for us). Now I say we go big with giving the queen her new arms and legs.

I voted for the winning plan for the other actions; I was hoping that the dice for Brana recruitment would fail.

It certainly would be interesting to read, but it's just too radical for my tastes. Let someone who is known to be Brana associated have the first Brana retainer.

Given how the princess wanted the appearance of the limbs to be subdued, I think we should go for the more low-key ceremony. We already have a massive reputation, so no need to toot our own horn here.

you do realise the runner up plan had everything the same except the Brana thing right?

I'd be against the Brana but for one thing.

One of them speaks Eltharin reliably.

This means we can save actions, possibly. By using them as a budget translator and initial tutor.

The wind of Ghur is also a nice buffer, but honestly not necessary.

Except a very important part which I considered to be the most important part of the turn.

-[X] [Simple] Armoured Maidens:
[Cost: 12 actions] Due end of Turn 40. Productivity Like no Other will proc.
Gain 70 Favour and 1 Standing with the Cult of Valaya. Snorri thinks another patron might be found by end of Turn 35.

Edited one of the lines folks, here it is for those who were confused.

The overall opinion of the general public, you reckon, would be a positive thing given that you've helped a princess regain three of her missing limbs. The same couldn't be said for your Fellow Runelords, who would either be fine with what you did or eye it suspiciously as a potential sign that you were no longer content with your supposed stranglehold on the Far North.

When referring to the ceremony around Orra's new limbs.

If it isn't clear, Orra is a very high visibility figure, so no matter what the prosthetics thing will be affected. But yeah...

We could grab the Firebird's Feather, Odd Item research seems to be causing knockon, rollout effects across other research, and it's only 2 actions.
That's actually pretty much what I was thinking. We could also put three actions into Rik Hunken, but I dooooonnnn't think that's necessary?

I think we should go for the subdued ceremony, a fancy one would probably get us more standing but I feel like it would also draw attention to the limbs project which could cause issues for Snerra's plans.

Definetly subdued.

I'd say either do the feather or we could do 1 action into Dronril and 3 into the belt to make it even fancier.

Guys, we can't have a flying sled if we don't have anyone to pull it
Yeah they're more Dolgi's wheelhouse, but us accepting them into our retinue will make it easier for him to take other Brana in (and slightly less xenophobia in Dwarf society as a whole).

...Yeah, if it honks off our fellow Runelords, it's a bad idea. I'd rather not look too ambitious. Plus she's going to be walking about and showing our work off anyways. They'll like us in a few turns when the news percolates of "Princess has new limbs!"

I'd be happy with either, but lean towards Feather for clearing it out and perhaps a bit of progress into other things. A strongly made Rik Hunden is nice too.

Or since we are using Dronril as decoration in the belt, we could spend turn 36 doing 1 into Dronril and 1 into Firebird or Master Rune of Purification to get a sense for what its deal is. That'd be useful when we eventually move to more alchemy focused research/primary rune metal.

I'm kinda meh on the reveal. No need to give people the impression we're up for a lot of commission work anyhow, seeing as how once we're done with the ones we've taken we'll likely be delving deep into researching the many important things we have on the table.

That could work, 1 into the feather would make it easy to finish off when we have a spare action in the future. I'm not that enthused with MoP but I'll go for it if others really want it.

Alternatively we could do another odd places, get us that 1 action closer to Master of the Odd.

[ ] Brana: Accept
[ ] Ceremony: Subdued.

Is what I'm feeling for the votes we looked for the Brana for a reason after all and making a big thing out of the ceremony just feels wrong this shouldn't be about our creations this is about getting her back on her feet.
