On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

If they don't have titles like some dwarfs do, then adhoc monikers or describing features/traits when talking about them to another is the usual go to.
Like Storri the younger, Storri with the curly mustache, or Storri the Miner and so forth.

Not a proper dwarfen title, but it works. Their last name usually also helps differentiate them as well.
So, nicknames then. Works for me :)

Anyone have map of the far north alongside the locations of each hold? I feel my beard is itching for another omake idea

Was just reading and had a wild thought of the image that the forces of the northern holds would make having begun to march south for the war of the beard in this timeline with the gift giver having multiplied the runesmiths of the north and a veritable army of giant stone dwarfs and wagons and tanks plus flying magic birds and mechanical beasts appearing over a rise as the southern host engages with the beard burners

It would be EPIC!

Cuz the north is way more eccentric then the south and thus have a very diverse and flexible army

The gift giver needs to make giant gronti of the dwarves who lost their beards and equip them with ship sinking cannons (they'll have their beards made from gromril for each individual follicle perfect and unbreakable, forever like the hate for elgi that burns in their hearts)

If the war occurs at least

Well let's hope like hell it doesn't occur, really. Besides, it's what, a thousand or two years out? that's easily a hundred turns, anyway.

Beware Math ahead!
If I haven't miscalculated anything this plan will allow us to do all of Armoured Maidens, Grave Wardens, The Rune Metal Pt. 2B, Understand Valaya's Runes and the other little things like A Princely Wedding and Triage.

First have a table for the Action Costs of the Requests and Research:
Requests/Research
Actions
Notes
Triage Pt. 2
1
A Princely Wedding
2-3
Productivity Like no Other will proc. Action Cost: 1+2(3) = 3(3) [Damn Planning phase]
Armoured Maidens
12
Productivity Like no Other will proc. Action Cost: 3(5)-3(5)-2(3)=8(13)
Grave Wardens
12
Productivity Like no Other will proc. Action Cost: 3(5)-3(5)-2(3)=8(13)
The Rune Metal Pt. 2b
9
Journeyman of the Odd and Soul of the Earth will proc. Action Cost: 3(6)+2(3)=5(9) or 4(8) + 1 = 5(9)
Understand Valaya's Runes
6
Journeyman of the Odd will proc. Action Cost: 3(5)+1 = 4(6)

Second have a table for the action input into Rune Metal Pt. 2B which procs both Journeyman of the Odd and Soul of the Earth:
Actual Action Input
Effective Action Input (JotO & SotE)
1
1
2
3 = 2+1[SotE]
3
6 = 3+2[JotO]+1[SotE]
4
8 = 4+2[JotO]+2[SotE]
5
9 = 5+2[JotO]+2[SotE]
As seen 3 or 4 action input is the most efficient, because they double the actions.

Which ends up with the following Turn Plan:
Turn 35 – Armoured Maidens Accept
Turn 36
Turn 37 – Grave Wardens Accept

Empty Spots are Free Actions.

As you can see, we are done just in time of Turn 42.

There are a few actions left over to fight over.
One in Turn 39, Two each in Turn 41 and 42 for a total of 5 actions.
Perhaps also one action in Turn 40 if the Hold Founding is truly finished one turn earlier like some believe (not going to depend on it unless we gain QuestMaster confirmation)

Edit: Added Spoilers.

I think the one I've spoilered below is the best I've seen:

I think there's another feature we know about, which is the Forest of Knives under where the map says 'Norsca', where there's a pre-Great Cataclysm elven city.

IS there any way to finagle things to get Wardstones done before we finish the Gazul commission that you see?

Its good of you to include a trigger warning but maybe also spoilers for people who are scanning? :p
Reasonable points have been raised that Triage will be a 2 cost action as a partial set. How would this change the plan? Just less overflow on the princely wedding?
If we need 2 actions for Triage Pt. 2 We can reduce Princely Wedding by one action.
We only need 1 Planning and 1 Making action for Princely Wedding as far as I am aware, though it'd be a little sad to not overdo it like always.

But then compromises must be had, my outline does plan to do a lot.

IS there any way to finagle things to get Wardstones done before we finish the Gazul commission that you see?

If we truly have Hold Founding finished in Turn 39, we can do it then instead of the Grave Warden and Hold Founding actions and do the 2 more Grave Wardens either Turn 41 or 42.

I don't see another way.

This is an attempt to finish as many things in the next few turns as possible. So things like Dronril, Dronwut, Zhufazul, Odd Places, and Firebird's Feather would be my picks, barring something really good in the Odd Places category.

If we truly have Hold Founding finished in Turn 39, we can do it then instead of the Grave Warden and Hold Founding actions and do the 2 more Grave Wardens either Turn 41 or 42.

I don't see another way.

THat makes sense. It might be interesting to see what would happen if we did go all in on Grave Wardens for all five actions as well, Hold founding does finish early.

As I suspect that we're going to be asked to contribute to helping construct the hold around then, completing Wardstones might also be interesting for that.

I'm not a massive fan of this plan, it gives us 1 overflow on each of Grave wardens and maidens but at the cost of getting 2 overflow on the limbs which I'd much rather have. Plus going 4/4 on the commissions gives us the free actions earlier to also finish off the odd materials especially Zhufazul which we might want to use on the wedding gift.

Edit: Actually do we know how many actions the limbs take? Based on the FAQ it should be two I think so this wouldn't complete them.
1 Action - 1 standard piece of equipment.
2 Actions - Multiple pieces of equipment or Large individual items like a Gronti or individual equipment for a very big Gronti
3 Actions - Very Large individual items like a very big Gronti or a full/near full set of items.

Edit2: To clarify my preferred plan would be:

35: 2 on limbs; 1 on planning wedding gift; 1 on zufazul
36: 2 on Gift; 1 on dronril (or something else); 1 on 2b
37: finish 2b
38: The basket (or something else maybe)
39: 4 on Valaya
40: 4 on Valaya (1 free?)
41: 4 on Gazul 1 free
42: 4 on Gazul 1 free

Upon further reflections I have found a way we could do it even with Hold Founding in T40, but it would really really suck. We'd need to spread out the whole five actions instead of taking advantage of Student of the Odd.

One in T35 instead of the 3rd Princely Wedding, 2 in T40 instead of the Grave Wardens (which get pushed to T42) and the last two in T41 which would allow us to barely finish.

It would also not leave a single action left over for anything else and only work if Triage Pt. 2 only takes one action which is also still debated.

Master Rune of Purification
With this one, I would really prefer to invest three actions as a chunk into it. While Journeyman of the Odd/Soul of the Earth are only may procs, I would guess one or both will. And I am also thinking that MPurification is going to be on the higher end of understanding costs. So it makes a good candidate for turn 43, and then finishing it, and chunking down the Rune Metal chain for turn 44.

Similarly, I really want to finish off a bunch of stuff to move us towards Master of the Odd, because that is one of the items that should get us a long way towards being able to turn smaller investments into more progress.

Probably true, but we only have to take one action away from princely wedding, we can finish that with one Planning and one building action. It's only one piece as far as I know. (the request is not listed anymore and the vote does not have the full request posted)

We have been told before that we have an advantage in understanding a master rune we actually invented so MPurification might actuality not be that hard. Also as soon as we get it on the chart we start having chances for inspiration.

But that's meant to become part of the Kings panoply, do we really want to have a 1 action item as part of the kings set?

Guys considering that we might get the chance to pursue a project on refining the process of making Gromril chainmail. What sort of blacksmithing tools could Snorri build in order to help him manufacture them in a faster manner?

Maybe some sort of Legendary Anvil, a room made of Pure Adamantium, sets of Pure Gromril Tongs and maybe Chisels?

I mean do we know what sort of Runelord or Blacksmithing tools can Snorri actually build to help him work faster? Does anyone have any idea?

Snorris current complaint is that making chainmail requires legendary items. Making more is the complete wrong direction to go.
