I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Have we confirmed what the interaction between the ancestor rune and a brain steeped in magic is?

I'm particularly interested in seeing what would happen if we stuffed Ortrek's ring on it. Imagine the cumulative EXPERIENCE and metaphysical WEIGHT it would have from Grimnir wearing it since forever.

Setting aside the problem of having to rip said ring out of Ortrek's cold dead hands.

I'm guessing the synergy with our Uber gronti means we will tackle this new thunder stuff within a century. I'd bet my beard on it!

I mean, I don't think so. It required 6, we had one autolocked, spent two more which procced to 3, and had two apprentice actions. 6 total. I think we got it all without any Favour.

Still awake. When best daugher was crafting. The MC comment about her being 15 faster than made a more pround comment in invisible text.

And now I learned that there a way to have those text visiblem thanks by way ^^ bungieoni. I only need to learn how to so now :)

But I will do this far later today when I awake and finish my work :D
 
Yep, material research is for when we have a rune metal throne and not one second before.

Kraka Drak is already known for its luxury goods and now in one turn Snorri's found two more to add. Now there's the gromril mine, the silver wutroth forest, the hearthstones, the lodestones, the potatos, the healing water, and now fancy wood and more gemstones.

Not going to lie, I'd be a bit annoyed that someone beat us to Branawongr.....IF IT WASN'T OUR BOY DOLGI! WAY TO GO LAD! ALL THAT HARD WORK PAID OFF!

Edit: Though uh, is it possible it'd be Brawongr, instead of Branawongr? Just wondering, since Dwarf Friend is Dawongr instead of Dawiwongr.

It wasn't autolocked to Hold Founding. The locked Snorri action was plopped into political shenanigans. All told Snorri and apprentices did 5 out of 6 and favor cleared the rest.

this is the peak feel of this quest. Every Dawi is worth the effort. Might be that this is a grim world of darkness and inevitable extinction.

in any case, we'll make that effort to our best extent every single time. Even if we passout from the exertion of making sure every single child in this hold gets a toy we'll damn well get it done so every child can smile come morn.

wealth? political capital? status?
good tools for getting done what we want done. But mainly they're supplements for our main motivation, or they assist our secondary joy.

I have to go to bed, but I will throw together a bigger effort post tomorrow.

In a few updates, I think when we made the king of the skys armor, the rune of Grimnir was association with lightning. I think there was some legend about lightning striking his axe. It tied in nicely with having griffon feathers as a rune ingredient.

The above plus the brain meats of lightning themed named character and this new thors hammer material has potential.

Enlightened gronti, from the t5 super brain.
The experience of Grimnir, from ancestor rune hax.
The power of lightning, also brought to you by Grimnir.
A Mjolnir reference with the new lightning stone, keep in mind that the dwarves forged thors hammer in Norse mythology.

Possibly a blue winds of magic blessing from the king of the sky to stack even more buffs.

I think you might be mixing up Grimnir with Grungni. Grungni's WarHammer, Drongrundum (Thunderhammer), is associated with Lightning and Storms.
 
Oh yeah, Christmas is almost upon us. Time for us to put on our hats and ready our Rocket-Powered-Sleigh. :V

I wonder if Snorri will become Santa Claus again and give out a fuck-ton of presents for every child in the general area.

That would definitely be a merry gift to lighten up everyone in these dark times or just a general boost to morale and stuff.

- Hold Founding complete! The material is there, ready and waiting for the very second a location is found. Once that happens, the imposing weight of what a Runelord can bring to bear if roused will come crashing down like an avalanche. In the meantime they will be trained, made ready and equipped for the new life they will be making for themselves.

Ack, looks like your right. Still there is something we can work with there.

Looks like we need to choose between a grungi focus or a Grimnir focus. Either way we get a godly gronti.

I really feel like Snorri ought to be able to fob off certain research assignments to whatever apprentice he feels won't muck it up too badly. Fjolla could probably figure out some good applications the new thunderstones, for example, because they fit her jewelry/talisman expertise. And would get her more screentime, which she's been sorely lacking. Actually, I like this idea purely on the merits of it giving more screetime for our apprectices and an opportunity to delve into the Master/Apprentice relationship.

Anyone else thinking Rudil seems to be showing some leadership material? Too used to seeing him as 'the grandnephew' through Snorri goggles. Easy to forget dude's 400-odd years old.

Even if he isn't if the Hearth Guard keeps coming up with good deed rolls like this one they'll generate a champion pretty quickly.

Dude seemed to be in charge of the Huskarls when they were on guard duty so it would make sense. Speaking of these guys though, I kinda of want to make a brotherhood + fate or w/e ties research gives banner for them eventually. Not sure what the third rune should be though.

There's been serious discussion of an MGrimnir, Battle and Brotherhood banner before. That said, if we can get the Rune of Fate from Gazul's 'ties' research, MGrimnir, Fate and Brotherhood sounds like something that could approach Mythic tier.
