What's the proposed plan to buy a house anyway? We may have money, but it's illegal Yakuza money.
Sabrina herself is a non-entity and noone in our group is old enough to buy or rent property.
Maybe Mami would know, but it's never even stated how exactly Mami got her appartment either.

The only real option to legally obtain a place to house foreign meguca would be to explain the whole magical girl business to an adult or become a very convincing liar, which would open up a whole new can of worms and problems to deal with.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely against organizing housing, but I think this conversation isn't the place for it and I think it would be a bit premature to do anything without further information. We could always ask Oriko to elaborate after we go back to her house, once the lunch break is over.
Mami's apartment is likely inheritance that her parents either owned outright,is being payed for out of a trustfund, or she has an extremely kindly and sympathetic landlord.

I suspect Homura knows or can find out about laundering money. Failing that, we have half a dozen sets of magical skills, several with broad utility - we aren't short of moneymaking options.

And yes, we'd have to clue an adult in to act as frontman. From my perspective this is a good thing to do anyway, because having an adult perspective on some of our problems could be handy. Apart from anything else, having somebody else relatively grounded to talk to who doesn't risk death or fates worse than due to various bombs would be nice.

Heck, wouldn't it be helpful to have Junko and Tomohisa helping to keep an eye on Madoka so she doesn't contract?

The next problem is how to break the masquerade to the adult. Also, who in particular?

Besides, we still have to deal with Oriko's condition first...

Pretty much what Guilop said. These Meguca are coming from all over, and that's not something you can do without either a transportation based power or money (lots of it if they're coming for grief seeds, because they're on a short time limit).

Furthermore, they'd be actual people to the government. They could actually go and buy a hotel room or something. Housing all of them for free would be a nice thing for them, but there's a difference between handing out meguca-food for free and being their mother.

I fully acknowledge that some Meguca are hobos. But hobo Meguca can be fine with a nice, clean warehouse with mattresses, warm food, and air conditioning units: it's more than they had before. We don't literally have to give them a hotel.

The vote in question suggests talking to Madoka's mother and asks Madoka how she would take finding out about magical girls. While there's a good chance Junko isn't willing to act as a legal front for us, she can probably introduce us to someone who will and either way we get a responsible, informed adult on our side.

Since this is just a vote to ask Madoka for information, I don't understand this objection.
We could always ask Oriko to elaborate after we go back to her house, once the lunch break is over.
Definitely do this, we need at least an order-of-magnitude estimate on numbers, but there's no reason we can't ask Madoka to think about this at the same time.

Failing that, we have half a dozen sets of magical skills, several with broad utility - we aren't short of moneymaking options.
I should mention here that Oriko can probably use her power to pick stocks, so if we can use some of our Yakuza money as a seed there's not much stopping us from buying essentially anything.

The next problem is how to break the masquerade to the adult. Also, who in particular?
Have Madoka introduce us to Junko, unless Madoka thinks it's a bad idea.
Besides, we still have to deal with Oriko's condition first...
There's nothing stopping us from asking Madoka and Junko for help and also dealing with Oriko's condition, delegation is a very important skill.

Right now the "anything" we're doing is asking Madoka to look for viable candidates. There is no need for laundering money at this stage and it's highly unlikely that we'll get to the stage where we need the laundered money before Walpurgisnacht even if Madoka knows a large-scale residential building for sale off the top of your head, and really I'm with lots of you on holding off on an actual purchase until we see which buildings haven't been ripped out of the ground by Walpurgisnacht. That said, I think the quickly-resolved issues can be handled quickly as the very-slowly-resolved issue is very slowly resolved. Buying a building is not a very fast process.
Housing all of them for free would be a nice thing for them,
Housing them all in the same place would be nice for us. If we don't do that then we have to visit all of them individually and that would quickly get to the point where we have no time to do anything else.

[X] Actually, Madoka, there is something you can help with..
-[X] Avoid Homura's glare.
--[X] Explain to Madoka that, as magical girls, the group (Mami, Homura, and Sayaka) need to avoid darker emotions, to avoid accumulating excess grief whenever you're not around. Sure, things probably won't get bad really quickly, but it can happen, and it's a risk we don't want to expose our friends to.
---[X] Ask Madoka if she would be willing to be the group's Mental Health Officer, to help keep their spirits up. It's not something easy, and it's not something a magical girl can safely do, because comforting and cheering people up can sometimes produce grief in the person doing the comforting and cheering. Tell her that you can't think of anyone who is better suited to the task -- You mean, she can make Homura smile! Yep, you saw that, it cannot be denied!

[X] Actually, Madoka, there are a couple of things...
-[X] Avoid Homura's glare.
--[X] Explain to Madoka that, as magical girls, the group (Mami, Homura, and Sayaka) lead stressful lives and need to avoid darker emotions. Sure, things probably won't get bad really quickly, but it can happen, and it's a risk we don't want to expose our friends to.
---[X] Ask Madoka if she can keep an eye on the girls as a kind of Mental Health Officer to help keep their spirits up. It's not something a magical girl can safely do, because cheering people up can be draining by itself - you're sure she's felt as much, with as good at comforting people as she is. There's nobody better suited to the task - she can make Homura smile!
-[X] Second, would your mom know how we could buy some property? I don't think any of us would even know where to start with that, but she might, and company coming would be a lot less complicated to deal with if they could stay in one place where they can all be cleansed in one go. Maybe someplace outside of town?
--[X] To Homura: I know, I know, but if we can keep them in one place it should be fairly painless to stay on top of any issues, and we could use the reinforcements against Walpurgisnacht.
---[X] You know your mom best, Madoka, how do you think she'd take the whole magical girl thing?

[X] Hm. Distance they've come from, I don't expect they'll want to turn around. And besides that...
[X] With my power, it won't be an issue to support a large number of girls. Between clear seeds and manual cleansing, we can keep them from being low on resources.
[X] We do have large sums of cash, I'm sure we could rent out a penthouse for them to live in for the time being.
[X] We can probably handle it, Sayaka, if we're careful. On that note: never talk to an unfamiliar magical girl without backup. You don't know what they can do or what they intend to do.
[X] Telepathy: you can always call us.
[X]Actually, Madoka...Can I talk to you for a minute? Take Madoka aside.
-[X]Madoka...you're probably one of the most important people here, honestly. And I...I want to ask for your help with something.
--[X]For magical girls, the most important thing...is really to be able to talk about their problems. To have someone they trust, who can keep their head on straight. That...goes for me too. There are always plenty of girls to fight, but what we really need is a good person who cares about us.
-[X]Madoka, you're a good person, and a good friend. Sayaka, Homura, Mami, me...We need someone like you. To keep our heads on straight, because sometimes it's easy to lose perspective...to think that there isn't anything we can do, or that there aren't people who care about us. And you care, a lot.
-[x]And...sometimes, I'm just not sure what to do. How to get through to people. There's one girl, I kind of messed up with her and now she doesn't really want to listen to me at all, and I'm worried for her. Can I ask for your advice with things like that, Madoka? I trust your judgement when it comes to things like that. More than I do my own, honestly.
[X]Just... there is so much more that we need other than a contract. Please, please don't make a deal with that... thing, okay?

[X] Turning 'them' away could come down to a continuous battle. You're expecting many desperate newcomers who won't take 'no' for an answer...
[X] Sigh.
[X] But if you're being entirely honest, you've been expecting this from the start. You'd like it if you could set up a meeting place of sorts for Magical Girls, somewhere close to Mitakihara, where you could reach out and lift the weight of Grief off their shoulders.
[X] It's not Grief cleansing that's the problem; you can support any amount of Magical Girls there. The problem is the people. Dangerous people. Problematic people.
[X] You're really hoping to change how things work someday; there's a distrust, a hostility between Magical Girls, that needs to... end. And you've got a part of the solution to that.
[X] It's just that everything's happening too fast.
[X] Apologize, you're ruining their lunch break, aren't you?
[X] Actually, you'd like to talk with Madoka for a moment.
-[X] Tell Madoka about Ono. How every meeting you had with her was... abrupt, how you had to practically stomp on Ono's feelings in order to protect her life, and she's... very much someone who'd rather risk life than ego... Now you've pretty much pissed her off to the point she wants nothing to do with you; you're even going to ask favors to other Magical Girls to see if you can find anybody who'll help Ono not get killed in her first days as a Magical Girl.
-[X] So you messed up, and it had nothing to do with having more or better magical powers, but more about how you choose to deal with somebody as a person.
-[X] You're not expecting miracles, but does she think you could make amends? You really want to make sure Ono doesn't end up killing herself, but you don't know how to do that from your position.

Would it be nice if, at some point, we got all the relevant adults in on things? Kyuubey say it wouldn't mindwipe the families of our friends, though with exact wording and what not, we might need to talk to it before proceeding.

What if try and break the news of magic to Madoparents, Mikiparents, and Shin? Madoparents and Shin could use knowing their daughters might be targeted by evil alien rat, while Mikiparents... are in a bad spot, too; maybe we can pay them to take care of the meguca housing problem, if it becomes a problem?

Also the continuous battle thing doesn't hold water. Sabrina and Homura combined are going to be pretty hard to attack when you can't literally see the future. And that's not even taking Mami into account.
I wouldn't take my chances against an unknown amount of potential enemies with wildly varying powersets, unpredictable abilities. Specially as we can't always be on guard.

But Homura probably won't see it that way, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Hmm...

[] Note that there's a chance you might be getting ahead of yourself here, as you only know of one girl showing up for sure. On the other hand, she's from Europe; if she heard of you while on vacation over here, that's one thing, but if word of your powers have spread that far...
-[] At least you don't have to worry all that much about a language barrier. I mean you've never really tested it, but...
