Well, my stance ATM is that talking with Oriko about Iowa should be done with Homura, Mami, and Sayaka there. That line from her -- "Iowa is... Concerning" -- I'd sorta like to have Homura hear something to that effect from her. It can't hurt, to drive home that Oriko actually had things she worries for. Not a big deal though.

I agree with this. We should contact them first and try to do this the same day if possible.

@Firnagzen It seems the last two updates are both threadmarked as "pt. 15". Unless Homura has been doing something very strange with time magic, I'm assuming that's a typo. :V

[Q] Scold Homura via telepathy. She promised her endeavors to create a caustically relativistic shield around Madoka wouldn't irrevocably damage the fabric of this timeline. You live in this timeline, after all. All your stuff is here. Your Mami is also here; no offense, but you don't plan on becoming another Homura, surfing across timelines to find a saveable Mumi, you like this one just fine, please and thank you.

[] Do a grief TAS Speedrun of Super Mario Brothers Warpless using 2019 strats.
-[] Immediately follow that with an RTA 0 Exit speedrun of Super Mario World, complete with arbitrary code execution.
The above is absolutely doable nowadays, with the world record being <42 seconds.

Alright, so: For the record, I'm not going back-to-back IRC updates in the future without heavy timeskipping. I thought I could make this work, but I overestimated myself. I'm not writing a script fic and these are damned near impossible to write as something other than a script-fic.
Hahaha no ;_;

I'm just really indulgent and/or bad with pacing.

I totally understand if you don't want to write a script fic and/or if writing these back-to-back is too much of a hassle, but I just wanted to say that I would actually read every single word if you literally just wrote out hundreds of thousands of words of IRC chat logs. I really enjoy these IRC updates, as somehow these updates really humanize the meguca we meet and it feels just more...sincere, sometimes, than face-to-face political meetings.

I guess I just really like the idea of people meeting in less tense settings and getting to know each other as people rather than potential enemies/competitors—it just kinda feels like the correct route to world domination peace?

Mmm

[Q] Tell Oriko that you are planning on visiting a new Meguca group on Tuesday. Thing is, they've asked for a cake, from a small place nearby, audaciously claiming that they make the best cake there is, when you know for a fact that Mami makes the best cake. You want to dissuade them of that preposterous notion.
-[Q] Oriko could participate in this cake face-off, as well, if she wants to. A cake-off, so to speak.

I believe this can form the basis of an actual vote.

It actually does.

We could also
You see
There is a brilliant ploy in the making
Step 1: make a double date in Oriko's kitchen. Mami's and Oriko's task is to make the cake, Kirika's and Sabrina's is to admire. All to ensure that Oriko is up to snuff for
Step 2: as a reconciliation move, make Oriko to bake a blueberry cake and offer it to Sayaka. Wonder aloud if it counts as cannibalism.
Step 3: Friendship abounds.

Stop: THIS IS UNNECESSARY
this is unnecessary
Please tell me that this shit isn't going to mess with Sabrina during the update? Like, maybe she thinks about it during a lull when other stuff isn't going on, but we really don't need another vomit-incident caused by one jerk derailing the thread.
A shot like this is hard to read as anything but a snipe at PistachioCookies when it comes right after the OP telling him to stop. That's a direct break of Rule 3, being civil.

25 points and 3 days' threadban. Please do not repeat this.

I agree with this here, anything important that Oriko has to tell can be given to everyone in the Holy Quartet at once. Even if it involves Witches, Mami and Sayaka will voluntarily tune out (well, unless Sayaka's feeling like going all in). Homura might instantly start squinting at the first word that comes out and think she's a liar, but Homura is still inevitably going to hear about it all anyway because of our oath to keep her informed. Best have her there to drink it in quickly, much better to rip it off than have it peeled slowly and all that.

Which means leaving it until after school when we can invite ourselves into Oriko's kitchen for the big bake-off. Bet even Homura's got some liquid nitro she could pull for a mean ice-cream cake.

Meanwhile, I'm going to vote for visiting Ishinomaki for 3 reasons: One, because I expect something to blow up over IRC during the next update and if we scoot over to Inoue Yuuki, we can have her employ her hacking skills to track down and pull info on anyone suspicious on the server. Two, because I also expect something to go wrong with the package supposedly containing our ID papers that Yuuki had prepped for us and if it does, being face-to-face with the one who prepared them would make figuring out a solution easier.

Thirdly and finally, it's because we scheduled a cleaning trip for them for Sunday, but we also then scheduled a lunch appointment with the Tokyo Council on that same day - a very Grief-controller-averse Tokyo Council - which makes the certainty of anything planned for after lunchtime... not very certain to say the least (read: I am expecting there to be burnt meat for luncheon). Granted, it still might be possible to do it in the morning, but we also have Tome to do and more importnantly, we now have an excuse to ask them about the Tokyo Council and maybe persuade them to dig through the internet for info.

I still think we ought to know a bit more because if the only things we walking in knowing are that they have a big boner for Grief-controllers and possibly make a habit of washing people between the ears, I can only see us having a bad time on Sunday.

[X] Vote in abeyance
[X] Afterwards...
- [X] Check on the Animators
-- [X] Arrange a meeting between the Animators and the Shiogama girls
- [X] Drop in on Ishinomaki group

As a stopgap measure
How about

[Q] Musical update!
-[Q] Spend the next five minutes on shitposting limericks and singing pop idol songs that haven't come out yet to Oriko via telepathy.
-[Q] In the update after the next, pretend that nothing like that ever happened and express confusion every time it's mentioned until all others agree to humor you.

Edit: okay, if no more votes get written in the next hour, I'll come up with something to use as a prop for the resident votecrafters.

Well if we only get one then I'd have to go for Ishinomaki as per reasons from before.

Meeting the Animators might let us know how Ono Megane is doing, but I don't recall anything pressing with her or the Animators themselves that would need us to know right away and while they ought to meet Shiogama it's also nothing that can't be arranged by telepathy. Which we're already using in the held vote to set up meetings between ourselves and them in while we chat on IRC, so....

[X] Vote in abeyance
- [X] Offer to set up a meeting between the Animators and Shiogama over telepathy.
[X] Afterwards...
- [X] Drop in on Ishinomaki group

On the other hand.... the option to visit the Animators (and Shiogama) has also been specifically listed in the last couple of updates as opposed to a generic "Visit who?" so from a meta perspective I do suspect there might be something unexpected and out of left field that could turn up by taking that route (ala Hitomi's mother) and I'd be fine with that too.

Okay, so
[X] Vote in abeyance
[X] Reassure Oriko and tell her you'll talk to her when you arrive to arrange their date. A little bird told you about a place that, she audaciously claimed, makes the best confectionaries in town. You could give them directions and a mission to check the veracity of such a statement, if she and Kirika are up to it.
[X] Afterwards,
-[X] Check on the Animators
--[X] Tell them about the Shiogama girls and ask both groups if they would like you to arrange a meeting between them. Introduce them via telepathy.

Debating with myself whether I should add the lines about cake-offs and feeding Sayaka a cake that would be a Rebellion reference she has no business knowing about, yet she probably would, but what else is new, so this is my template for now.
