Realistic for the time and culture options, more like.

So are you going to argue that option isn't going to lead to bad things and will instead be good for the Ymaryn? Because realistic isn't mutually exclusive with bad nor does realistic automatically equal good.

AN: A curious idea, I wanted to do a civilization type game, but move away from a lot of the micromanaging type details and more towards something a bit more general. This is not about optimizing minutiae, but about choosing the structures and ideals of a people, culture, and civilization over time as various challenges rear their head.
It's actually that I/the thread am waking up from a deathless slumber.

Although at this point I have come to the conclusion that I fundamentally need to rip out the systems in play, and thus I am currently mulling options. Part of the delay is that I have been reading through other long running quests like Panopticon and To Bold Go to see how they do things. There are likely to be some radical shake-ups, quite possibly to the point of making a sequel thread.

Or, more appropriately, the system for this quest has become too complicated to manage and all the plates being spun are no longer possible, so an external disruption has overwhelmed the ability of central administration to keep it all going, leading to a collapse and reformation ;)

You guys know that alchemy can produce stuff in addition to gunpowder?

When your vote is to unfairly screw over other voters? Yes, it is. You have yet to give any reasoning for your vote beyond stating that you enjoy being given the opportunity to cause trouble with your trolling because normally you aren't able to get away with any actually damage. And even now you refuse to give reasoning to show that you aren't a troll and have actually valid reasons for making that vote. Nope, all you don't is complain that you don't usually get the chance to screw over others due to disportionately unfair division of power and that your trolling is being called out as such. Yeah, a total lack of reasoning or evidence to show that you aren't actually trolling and a plea to stop calling you out as such.

And while we are on the subject, I don't like the fact that we are now using weighted votes, especially since it is highly in favour of the bad options. It is telling some voters that their opinions don't matter as much as others whilst giving others a disportionate amount of power since it allows a handful of trolls to screw over everyone else.
I think it represents the Ymarin In-universe belief that they (as a civilization) are better then everyone else and have nothing to learn from other(civilizations)s. Going against commonly held beliefs is harder then going with the flow.

And it is still ridiculously unfair for the voters as you are basically saying that some voters are worth more than others while others matter less. It also undermines the vote as you don't even need a majority to win.

It might make sense if you look at things entirely in-universe, but from a meta perspective, it is bad gameplay.

No? But that's why it had so much weight behind it.

And that's why we voted for recipe review. Maybe it'll be gunpowder, maybe something else.

The Ymaryn have always been the unrealistically good/smart guys and by gum they're gonna stay that way.

I was going to make an argument against the x10 option, saying that I didn't like the cultural implications of a Ymaryn that explicitly didn't accept values, technologies etc. which are favorable simply because they came from foreigners.

Then I went to take a 30-minute lunch break, and the bote closed. ^^

EDIT: Granmer misteaks ficksed
