I was going to make an argument against the x10 option, saying that I didn't like the cultural implications of a Ymaryn that explicitly didn't accept values, technologies etc. which are favorable simply because they came from foreigners.

Then. I went to take a 30-minute lunch break, and the bote closed. ^^

EDIT: Granmer misteaks ficksed

I think someone already did that.

I kinda of did. I mentioned how it could damage two of our core, Ymaryn-defining values.

Furthermore, this option winning could seriously damage PiA as we would be rejecting its ability to get technological advancement from neighbours while dismissing foreigners as mere barbarians incapable of doing something better than us rather than actually it to be possible for them. Additionally, PK could be damaged as a value as we are rejecting new insights and ideas out of hand due to their origins. I fail to see how an 'inward look' is worth damaging two core values that make the Ymaryn the Ymaryn.

No empire survives the ravages of time.

Its just a matter of when we are going to collapse not if. That's the way I see it

I think you're missing a left bracket, @Ossha

Sorry if this sounds grammar nazi-y and hypocritical. ^^

On another note, I like the x2 option a lot because it means that we're attempting to challenge our own alchemical knowledge in order to figure out how to create it ourselves. It means Ymaryn is using PK, and because the x1 option (outright stealing it) just doesn't sit well with me.

I wonder what would have happened if the x0.25 option had won, though...

I don't mind that. If you had refreshed before posting, you would even noticed that I have already fixed it.

One implies there's some kind of discrimination going on, the other means that a particular mechanic is in play, requiring great consensus for things to go an unexpected way.

And that particular mechanic means some kind of discrimination is going on, especially when the votes are weighted that one voter can matters more than nine other voters. Those two possibilities you presented aren't mutually exclusive.

By the way, due to Gavoon presenting his reasoning to me in PM, I am retracting all claims of him being a troll.
