Good way of literally avoiding everything I said and going on to personally attacking me. You're really getting your point across.

You made a controversial vote that will screw over the rest of the thread and have bad in-game consequences. You are also obviously smart enough to know this. So what do you do? You provide no reasoning for your vote like Korporati nor do you just drop the vote with no other comment like Dkarkhas and instead make a comment on how you enjoy being given the ability to screw over the thread. And then when you are called out on what you said or asked for reasoning, you ignore them and refusing to explain your actions. You only respond when your trolling is called out as such to whine about how you are being unfairly treated because you don't usually get the chance to screw over the other voters.

You have made a provocative post that is technically within the rules with no reason being delighting in messing up things for others. That is classic trolling and so I am perfectly happy to state that you are a troll. Which by the way, is the point I am trying to get across. If you don't want to be called a troll, then don't troll.

Could we just...not do this?

Please don't get the mods in here the day the thread comes back.
Just chill out and have an open mind, no matter which direction we end up in.

Why? He is trolling and since I can't report due to it technically being within the rules, I am going to at least call out his trolling. That isn't against the rules anymore than what he is doing is against the rules as far as I can tell. If it is against the rules, then one of the multiple staff in the threat can correct me on that matter because I find any rules that forbidden what I have posted.

Yes but the point stands, that there's no empire if you have shitty logistics. And if horse drawn carts are the hight of the tech, transport by water is the only way to go.

So we should just not over expand? The Roman Empire was way, way too big for it's communication and travel Times.

And this is why we have gone for internal defenses, infrastructure and culture.
Consolidation.

Ah yes, enjoying the possibility of my vote actually counting. The classic trolling.

But this isn't the place to argue about this, if you want to continue we should take it to PM's.

Literally voted for that, trust me. I've been in this thread since the beginning too, and I was the guy who started and carried the hardline to early iron. I think when we max out roads, we should limit expansion heavily until we improve locomotive options

So, AN has been (well, had by the time this post goes up) quite active in Discord on answering some miscellaneous questions. Assume these informations only working so far as this current Second Lightning Round, except those that can be considered as more 'permanent'.

They're currently more like a CKII Byzantium that starts with its shit together and no interest in expansion
Academia Nut - Today at 01:17
More they're the 1000lb gorilla in the room that most people figure isn't worth taking a swing at, although every once in a while someone decides to go on a Death or Glory run (always ends in death), but they're not that much more advanced than all their neighbours
PizzaMan - Today at 01:17
Ah
Still have Nomads coming along to take a swing?
Academia Nut - Today at 01:18
Every couple of generations, yeah
Academia Nut - Today at 01:22
You expanded your number of temples as part of your roads and culture initiative, so you're pretty good on that front, although a lot of major religious upheavals happened elsewhere, producing new holy centers outside your borders
Academia Nut - Today at 01:26
Variations on Crow were frequently central figures in the mystery cults that popped up, and when things gelled together the central deity had many of Crow's personality attributes, and his servants were basically black winged angels/valkyries
Academia Nut - Today at 01:30
Combine with the monotheists keeping their heads down and the push for elitism producing the idea of special knowledge held by only a special few, and mystery cults were inevitable, and one of them eventually figured out a combination of factors that made it very appealing
Academia Nut - Today at 01:19
The focus on internal issues and culture means that you successfully transitioned to a more monotheistic society, the various mystery cults that had been starting to pop up not being too destabilizing
Academia Nut - Today at 01:30
You have essentially dominated Not!Mesopotamia and Not!Anatolia, but you basically leave that sort of trade to your neighbours
Academia Nut - Today at 01:32
Nah, trade with India and Arabia is done by sea, river, and canal, you just don't do it yourself for the most part and rely on other people to do it for you
Academia Nut - Today at 01:31
Not!Israel is still around as a hermit kingdom surrounded on all sides by you, essentially
Academia Nut - Today at 01:33
The Ymaryn kept looking inward and while they got smacked more than once, there wasn't the political will to go in and annex them directly
The Harmurri were integrated directly, eventually
Eclps - Today at 01:34
at what age will the quest start after the lightning rounds?
Academia Nut - Today at 01:35
Equivalent of 2050-ish

Strong Opinions About Farming and Forestry remain major cultural touchstones, and probably one of the biggest points of pride and arrogance

Ah yes, enjoying the possibility of my vote actually counting. The classic trolling.

When your vote is to unfairly screw over other voters? Yes, it is. You have yet to give any reasoning for your vote beyond stating that you enjoy being given the opportunity to cause trouble with your trolling because normally you aren't able to get away with any actually damage. And even now you refuse to give reasoning to show that you aren't a troll and have actually valid reasons for making that vote. Nope, all you don't is complain that you don't usually get the chance to screw over others due to disportionately unfair division of power and that your trolling is being called out as such. Yeah, a total lack of reasoning or evidence to show that you aren't actually trolling and a plea to stop calling you out as such.

And while we are on the subject, I don't like the fact that we are now using weighted votes, especially since it is highly in favour of the bad options. It is telling some voters that their opinions don't matter as much as others whilst giving others a disportionate amount of power since it allows a handful of trolls to screw over everyone else.

Still find it interesting that the votes of 3 people are worth more than the votes of 24.
Ah, the wonders of weighted voting :V
Which honestly makes me empathize with people who 'dislike' or generally go against those kind of people.
It's a mechanic, after all. A meta mechanic, affecting the players first and foremost. It gives power to disruptive players, who wish to screw over the others. (or have their own, legitimate reasons, I guess, but that's less likely, frankly)
It feels... somewhat simulationist- there's cultural inertia against accepting innovations of others, since it weakens the "Ymaryn make everything new" narrative.
But at the same time- it encourages negative responses to people who do vote for the 10x option.
