@zamin I really can't tell you how much I appreciated all your analysis when I was collating the history spreadsheet. For a long time, you were the only one recording our stats.

Thanky!

Something that hasn't been discussed yet, but since we are sending our Red Banner Mercenaries against the Highlanders on top of setting our Policy to Offense, it is incredibly likely that one of the War Mission will be diverted to assist our Vassal.

So we don't really need to send assistance.

I want to send assistance to teach them STRONG OPINIONS ON AGRICULTURE so that they have a reason to be grateful to us and not only fear us, thus cementing loyalty.
Also, cultural exchange.

You know...

I think this is a good time to gift the Thunder Speakers. Reward them for not turning on us, show we appreciate it, ease their concerns that they'll next, and begin the process of peaceful subjugation.
They totally planned to take a swing at us, but after looking at what happened, decided that taking us from both the north and south at once is suicide.

Because:

Highlanders are fighting:
-Hathatyn Colony
-Northwestern Lowland Vassal
-Valleyhome
-Redhill

Thunder Speakers would be fighting:
-Stallion Tribes
-Heaven's Hawks Tribes
-Stonepen
-Valleyhome
-Redhill
-Northwestern Lowland Vassal

They buggered off on the sole reason that once our main army is back they're fucked even if they did damage.
For once in their life, they realized that fighting a superior power is just pain.

Won't do much good. Lowlands is already magnificent agriculture property. They are more likely to be appreciate having someone back them so they don't get raided every other day. Right now though, they would just like some help cleaning up

Sauce:
Your lowland vassals are currently cleaning up the situation in the east and would appreciate help but do not need it.

Or we could just elect another blunt instrument king.

Divine Stewards can't cascade fail if there's noone left to take your land.

Actually I sort of hope this war continues for awhile at a low boil. I didn't think the provinces are going to want to break away in the middle of a war so it buys us time to make more trails and generally pull the country back together.

I am pretty sure our Lowland Vassal is more focused on the Xohysirri Remnants. I would not expect too much help there.

Actually, best bet is if the TS do attack during this fight. The HH and ST would be too busy fighting the TS to be thinking of rebellion, which gives us time to spam more roads and finish the palace.

what was Phygrif's reaction to women warriors?

Among the nomads, if a daughter cannot kill a wolf with bow or sling, her family has to increase her dowry to make up for her incompetence.

Nomads are hard to pigeonhole with modern ideas of gender norms. On the one hand they consider carrying women off a perfectly fine honeymoon, but on the other they have so little that they need all hands on deck to keep things going, and they live in a dangerous world, so everyone has to be tough. Also, since they have a very strong "might makes right" ethos going, if a woman is hard enough to be a warrior, the nomads just shrug and go "Yup, you're an ass kicker all right" and move on with their lives.

So Phygrif's response was "Nice! A good woman is like a good horse: the more effort goes into getting them to accept the harness, the better the ride at the end of the day."

...He's kind of an ass

can we Support Subordinate on our vassals?

Yes, that is possible.

Yeah. Now that megaproject is out of the way and Xoh is smashed, the lowlands combined can't fight us. They're taking climate damage every turn and we aren't. Plus, we have both the best infantry and cavalry in the region. And they have trade disruption preventing them from full bronze production.

It's unsustainable. We WILL have time to digest the lowland minors.

In that case I think we'd want defensive policy to improve our lacking walls and watchtowers, while conducting limited war missions using our main actions. Giving the provinces too much time on offense risks shooting up our martial score dangerously high.

Still find it funny that he's probably going to be one of the most beloved kings we've ever had, even though a large part of the player base hates him.

You know, Phygrif think we do many things not befitting of a warrior society, and even when he do get it...he kinda miss the point.

...Is that not how popularity works? I have had several experiences tell me that the popular one is usual rude and obnoxious.

But then I am an introvert, what do I know.

I will say one thing for all of this mess: I did not have to ask the thread whether or not they wanted to commit genocide. They just elected someone who would do it for them without thinking if given the opportunity...

Wow, in that perspective that went a lot darker than I initially intended.

But yeah, that's a question I was not looking forward to asking should you guys go to war with the Xohyssiri and get to their walls. Although it does do a bit of a weird spin on the question of complicity, in that you sort of handed a loaded weapon to a known killer and then pointed him at someone you didn't like.

But he's our ass!

There is a tendency for the great people of history, the ones who shaped history - or at least were there at a moment of transition to put their stamp on the process - had a tendency to be profoundly unpleasant people in many ways. The drive to reshape the world does tend to do that, in that other people are a part of the world and you need to have a certain sort of drive that disregards others.
