Looking at action options, I want to try a study tailings, with an expand black soil. See if we can get concrete.
Yep. If nothing demands our actions next turn I also strongly favor doing it all at one go.We have word of god they will. My inclination next turn is study metal+study tailings+study health (province). Maximum synergy, and also cutting a turn out. One less turn is one less chance for a health critfail to ruin everything.
We should already have it, they're unlikely to spend mysticism I believe.Depending on province actions this turn we may just barely have enough Mysticism to do that. We will certainly have the Stability.
And if we do, the two Marches can counter it as well. Probably not a problem. The Western Nomads lead by the Son are quite distant and I believe still busy repairing themselves. There is only a low chance we will receive raids from them.
Unlikely. We wiped those out within a thousand miles. Those are not going to show up for 2-3 generations at least. There must be some Nomad tribes to the North. There is a very good chance they will show up. Whether they attack us or the Caravan is up in the air, the likely target will be both of us.
Seems more like a Border Troubles event. It's possible that Southshore will launch a Trade Mission or a Salt Gift(considering our vast excess of DIplomacy) to head off any troubles. The Hathatyn escalate the situation. They seem to be gearing up to really try and smack us which will be a bit difficult over the seas. A good chance that they will escalate with the HK as well.
The bane of the hereditary model. Uninterrupted succession is far rarer than electoral systems. The Highland Kingdom has a Civil War again which interrupts their consolidation. I say this is a 50/50 chance. They can't seem to go at least two generations without one. Increasing as time goes by as it seems to be a feature of their political model.
Uh...does not compute. Tailings may have part of the makings of concrete, but we still don't have limestone, and black soil has nothing to do with it at all.Looking at action options, I want to try a study tailings, with an expand black soil. See if we can get concrete.
I dunno, man, I think watchtowers might still pull it out!
We get nice things off of unanimity. Our last veekietrain drove off the nomads, got a legacy, an honour slot, and an honour policy.Wait, I haven't voted yet!

And you want to give it all up? For trees?
This man knows what's up.
They weren't nomads. They were a large Trade Mission from a far away civ.The point was that even if we destroyed an incredible amount of nomads, we were immediately faced with more nomads. Peaceful ones, yes, but nomads all the same.
The problem is you're mixing two different argumentsConsidering those losses would have been an order of a magnitude worse without our march, and the fact that this was an outright devastating blow to the local nomads, 10 martial was pretty cheap.
Also, we didn't just break a group of nomads, we broke pretty much every group of nomads within several months travel. It's not a permanent solution, but nobody ever claimed it was. But this was still a massive victory on our part, since we are already back to normal while the nomads need several more turns to return to what they were.
Honestly, I'm not even sure what you're arguing at this point. I mean, we live on the border of the steppes, dealing with periodic waaaghs is sort of expected, so building marchs to guard our borders makes perfect sense.
Or a trader caravan nomad with trader ties to a far away civ. They weren't nomads. They were a large Trade Mission from a far away civ.
Well, you remembered that one of the two modes of operation that the northern nomads have is "raid" alongside "trade" and thus it is always possible that they will decide to take a swing at you.
So that's who we need to look for and support.Yup. They're nomads, they have two settings: attack everything around them, or Silk Road. Unless there is a strong presence to keep them generally in line, they sort of default to the former because any single tribe within the greater region deciding to be hostile slows down trade considerably, but a strong but relatively peaceful tribe can force its neighbours to not attack their caravans and get things done.
If we Study Tailings + Study Metal next turn we also get synergy AND finish the challenge a turn early.[X] [Main] Build Iron Mine
[X] [Secondary] Change Policy - Balanced
[X] [Secondary] Grand Sacrifice
Solid plan, though next turn we should double Main Study Tailings. Just for synergy and to get it out of the way

There is a third secret hidden state we just unlocked: Dead NomadsActually, thinking about it further, AN has told us that the Nomads have two settings, the first the raid ALL the things we've seen recently.
The second we've only seen hinted at once with our interactions with the first Thunder Stallions.
The Silk Road Nomads. The Trade ALL the things nomads

Provinces can take Grand Sacrifices too.At the cost of going into negative stability while trying to remove the belief? Anxiety will not help our cause.
Not really?
Still, the narrative it paints, when we go into instability while we are trying to discourage superstition...Provinces can take Grand Sacrifices too.
And if they don't, things are lined up perfectly for a Restore Order on the third turn.
Stability -1 is minor as long as you don't intend to STAY there.
