Assuming she is the former jinjuriki and kagome's idea is slightly imprecise as always, she would be an S-ranker.
Said that this was a very finicky and dangerous information, so it is less about her finding out and the fact someone rummaged trough your opsec stuff.
 
Approaching Asuma with the "Can we even tell Naruto the full thing because of the nine-tails" - line shouldn't be much of a problem. The 7th Path Bosses call them "Abominations" after all and Enma thinks "slurping" that chakra is a bad idea, us being a bit careful shouldn't cause a huge problem.

If everything is cleared we just remind Naruto that Hazou and Kagome actually know what they are doing when it comes to strange esoteric stuff:
  • The Cannibal seal
  • The Nara Skywalker fail
  • Blotchy
  • Great seal stuff (He saw the Dragon parts)
  • Weird voodo ritual
  • Understanding his fathers sealing stuff
For once Naruto is just simply out of his element. Iif he wants us to trust him more he should just give us his Uzumaki Lore.

And Akane and Yuno aren't really cleared for this level of knowledge either. Oops.

In bold, the parts where he saw Team Gōketsu have no idea what we were doing, but Hazō did the thing.
Striked, where he saw us have no idea what we were doing, but Mari had an idea and it was extremely uncomfortable for him. Still, it was imprinted on him that seals are dangerous stuff he doesn't understand and Kagome and Hazō are willing to try a lot of stuff to control them, up to and including putting themselves in danger.
Colourised, where he saw Kagome blow things up, which may or may not be "knowing what he's doing" given he did understand the issue but also he absolutely does that to everything.
 
Can somebody explain why they want to go to Asuma right now? From what I can see telling him just eliminates value. He's not going to get suspicious because we are already cleared to have all the notes. And this just gives any other sealmasters Asuma might assign to this a leg up on developing there own seals to deal with the bijou. As long as we are the only people who can handle this we have more value to Asuma which means more latitude and freedom. What's the upside of revealing now instead of when we have something solid that we can protect as a clan secret?
 
potential upside is sealmasters using that to get progress on the Great Seal
although they haven't been much help so far (?). except harumitsu.
but we did expect them to be helpful, that's why we leveled earthshaping.

speaking of getting others help on the great seal. should we put some dragon parts in leaf hospital like we originally planned for bio people to look at?

oh shoot does Kagome have clearance for the bijuu notes? we might have broken opsec on that.
 
Diferent people would give diferent answers my answer is that Hazõ and kagome are the premier sealmasters on leaf (orochimaru is not reliable) and it should be useful on the dragon war so the chances he drags it down interclan politics is near zero.
Now these notes are a S-class state secret, or at least the biju seal is. So my question is why you would want to risk get killboxed.

How do we get killboxed from this? What is the chain of events that leads to that? Right now we are just studying the notes and any insight we get we can just say we derived it from the notes. There is no way that this information can get out unless we reveal it. There is no reason to even suspect that we have cracked anything new from it.

While i generally approve of telling Asuma when we actually have something, i want to caution against this type of "Let's take the Bijou Seals for ourselves" reasoning.
Because playing "Fuck Around and Find Out" with the Bijou Seal, one of the pillars of Village power from it's creation, is a bad idea.
Playing "Fuck Around and Find Out" with a Seal that isn't ours, but of the tower, and more specifically of the father of the current Jinchuuriki? Really really bad idea
There are good odds that Naruto goes "You try to make my dad seal a Clan Secret and you get to see how fast Rasengan poisoning act", more soft approaches would almost surely not result in a actual physical danger, but a further straining of Asuma's goodwill, because it would be blatant we're putting our personal power over Leaf on a really important matter.
This said, we can use the situation: Research the notes, show how useful we are to Asuma, and offer them, then use the political capital(Only the political capital, do not, under any circumstance, blackmail the Hokage) to obtain something else...like Shadow Clone, for example. Kei used Isan to fundamentally change the shape of Leaf social fabric, we can ask for OP technique to keep our family safe(er).

EDIT: Or Shadow Clone to Yuno, she is a special Jounin, after all.

We wouldn't be taking the Bijou seal from anyone. All the information will stay with the tower. We are just not giving the chain of research that let us crack it or, any new seals the we derive from it.

Marshal basically said it for me, we basically had the best lead on cracking this very important blackbox, is something that the hokage should know.
 
Regardless we should talk to Mari about this before we make any decisions. She has greater insight into what the political situation requires.

We should definitely not tell anyone yet. One reason is nothing is tangible, actionable, or complete. It's a waste of everyone's time. The next reason is that we should see what Mari can do with this, possibly turning it into Shadow Clone clearance, or some type of favor we're owed on the same level.

Never should we just hand stuff over without talking to Mari btw and leveraging it. It makes no sense.

  • When back in Leaf, create a new division within the Gouketsu clan: the Helpful Agency for Zany Out-of-the-box Unpredictability.
    • Take volunteers from both ninja and civilians, and work with Mari to give them an intensive training course to help turn them into creative plotting experts.
      • Think "fanon House Slytherin" crossed with what Hazou is actually like.
    • Intention is to create a group of "Moriarty the Consulting Criminal"/"CIA" types who can be doing intel/counter-intel/consultation work in the background. Our equivelant to how the Nara function as consultation workers, but with a very different intellectual specialisation.
  • Bring Mari up to speed regarding the bijuu notes, and ask her thoughts on the matter.

    • Tell Mari about Minato's hidden messages and the real instructions to make his Bijuu imprisonment seal.
      • How can we best use this to get Noburi, Kagome, Yuno, and/or Haru SC?
      • Share with Asuma if Mari and Kagome think agree to.
    • Tell Mari that the Nagi "Machine" has been carved out of the mountain.
      • That even after a year, the chakra around there made the Iron Nerve short circuit.
      • If it wasn't a seal, the IN wouldn't try to copy it.
      • The only seal we've seen with a completable amount of chakra is the Great Seal.
      • Kumokugo told us that the Sage made the Dragons to fight the Ten Tails, who was later split into the nine tailed beasts.
      • The Nagi "Machine" may be another Great Seal meant for the Ten Tails.
      • The Nagi "Machine" may have the One-, Two-, and Three-Tailed beasts in it.
        • Maybe why Great Seal is failing.
      • Ren was present at the battle, she may have memorized the Nagi "Machine".
      • Ami or Ren may know of it's location.
      • Could use Minato's Bijuu Seal as a bargaining chip to get access to the Nagi "Machine", since whoever has it will likely want to make jinchuuriki.
        • With Asuma's permission. Speaking of, we should meet with Asuma and Ami to discuss finding the Nagi "Machine".

Yeah I don't know if calling ami in is a good political move right now we can sugest to assuma but really national actions are above our paygrade.
 
Do we trust yuno and haru with FOOM?
Does Noburi have access to enough chakra, without being suspicious how much chakra he needs, to enable their FOOM?

I trust yuno with foom if she trust us with her sheet is another history, haru need to get the clear from mari.
The biju seal would be a good way to get clan wide jutsu clearence.
