Gōketsu motto: we'll optimise to hell and back... literally
I personally don't see why we should tell Asuma. He doesn't have any specialty to help the project and I don't think he has any resources that are helpful either.
Interesting that Naruto doesn't have an aura. I guess that kinda confirms that prime isn't a jonin by himself, even if the clones altogether are a major threat.
I distinctly remember Kagome beating some Naruto clones with his directional blasts in Oro's basement. Then again, explosives don't play nice with the rules. Who knows, really. He may not actually do foom, or his variation of, that much. It was brought before that naruto's stats can be somewhat low.
For telling Asuma, it's more about not committing treason. Naruto already knows about it, so Asuma will find out regardless. But if we tell him ourselves we can do so in a way that sounds less like "I'll tell Orochimaru to seek a higher position," and more like "Wouldn't you like to see your dead loved ones again?"I personally don't see why we should tell Asuma. He doesn't have any specialty to help the project and I don't think he has any resources that are helpful either.
Thaaaaaat's a really good point.Let's not bring back reactionary religious leaders who could lie about what actually happened in the afterlife's and use that to further entrench their shitty believes until we have the situation well in hand
Alternatively, it's because Naruto's a jinchuriki and therefore can't 'be himself' if he is also 'not himself'.I would like to note that Naruto is immune to another S-ranker aura, so it could be something more complicated than simply a lack of stats. Maybe it's age? If it was "Resolve multiplied by Chakra" then Naruto shouldn't have any problem with that, as he has a lot of Chakra, unless he lacks the Resolve part. It's an interesting question.
Due to the number of clones Naruto can make and/or pop at once, I wouldn't assume his resolve is low... Frankly I'm holding to Jiraiya's words and the "compressing lots of you, chipping at it reveals a single 'I am' core, be very messed up a lot" part of the theory - how often was Naruto really hurt? He's been through hell with the Akatsuki, but it looks like up until then he was more prepared and groomed to lead, and is strong mostly through ridonkulous shadow clone training, people bending over backwards to teach him secrets, and QB synergy rather than anything along the lines of "wading through rivers of blood". Sure, he was super powerful and thus led to high-profile missions, but when you count as S-rank and can spam shadow clones to tank whatever's coming at you (except genjutsu blasts) it's not like these are dangerous, just secret and well-paid. If it takes "breaking you" to make that kind of being, he was probably only broken once and then he dissociated through most of it (I somehow don't think his jōnin aura should feel like a weird person speaking in simple sentences, not understanding questions well, and rebooting).I would like to note that Naruto is immune to another S-ranker aura, so it could be something more complicated than simply a lack of stats. It's also been heavily implied by Naruto, himself, that he tried to use the Shadow Clone Jutsu to manually alter his own consciousness/personality, and that he had to be stitched back together by Hiruzen and several of Leaf's jonin/S-rankers.Due to the number of clones Naruto can make and/or pop at once, I wouldn't assume his resolve is low... will vote for this if we remove telling Naruto right away. I'm not inherently opposed to telling him but want to make sure everyone agrees that it's a good and safe idea.
Def think this should be a decision that we vote on and discuss after the update instead of jumping into it but less of a deal breaker since there is atleast a check on it
- If everyone generally agrees, contact Asuma and tell/ask him what we decide.
What do you think we could tell him that he doesn't already know? He's read the classified reports, he knows where the rift is, and his buddy Sasuke can pinpoint it for him.will vote for this if we remove telling Naruto right away. Like I said I just want to go a little slower with spreading the information that we are actively working on necromancy. We have a pretty strong result and Naruto might go to other people. That could lead to us losing control of the project. I'm not opposed to bringing him in after we talk it over with the Team and they agree that it's a good idea. I just want us to be careful first. What do you think we could tell him that he doesn't already know? H: "Help me try to contact J!"
N: "I can't, but I'll watch."
Stuff happens.
N: "Did it work?"
H: ".....okay bye!"
Its an odd way to respond to Naruto finally interacting with us in any sort of a positive way. He doesn't trust us, and trying to keep this from him won't turn out well. We threw our lot in with him when the last plan was voted in.
Naruto knows everything except whether or not the attempt was successful. If it had failed, we would have just told him. Not telling him anything is the same as saying that it worked, only he'll be upset that we're seemingly trying to cut him out of the process after is going to him for help. There is no benefit to keeping this from him and actual risk if we do keep it from him. What's to stop him from going "Well fuck this guy. Came to me for help and refuses to tell me. I'll just go to Asuma tell him what's up."Like I said I just want to go a little slower with spreading the information that we are actively working on necromancy. My suggestion for what to tell Naruto is
"I had a vision of Jiraiya, but I need to verify some information from said vision before I can know whether it was real, or just me hallucinating what I wanted to see. By the way, you're welcome for dinner."
While I'm skeptical of using QM reactions to derive OOC information, I agree with the general proposal.
Am a fan of this as well
I don't remember what aura he resisted that you're talking about, but I think we already knew there was something funky going on with his resolve, due to the quantity of clones he can manifest. Seems like he can offload some mental stress to Kurama or something. I guess that doesn't translate to having an aura.I would like to note that Naruto is immune to another S-ranker aura, so it could be something more complicated than simply a lack of stats.
