Question about the mechanics here, why didn't Hazou just choose to be Taken Out here rather than take the Consequence? The social combat didn't go for a second round so he has no incentive to prolong things.Hazō: Rapport 21 + 3 + 3 - 3 = 24
Miyuki: Empathy ?? + ? + ? + ? = ??
Miyuki wins. Hazō takes 5 stress. He receives the Mild Social (Mental) Consequence "Humiliated Before a Guest".
A valid question. I suppose because he didn't know at the time he received the Consequence that he would not have the chance to go for a second round (because Miyuki used her victory to end the combat and go home). However, since the evidence suggests that he would have lost a second round too, he would have been better off doing as you suggest.Question about the mechanics here, why didn't Hazou just choose to be Taken Out here rather than take the Consequence? ...Eh as long as there's timeskips involved I guess it's fine. I just don't want to get caught up in social shenanigans for 3 weeks IRL and 2 days in character.Eh it's definitely something I can see causing even worse problems/drama later. Plus it's clearly stressing our bro out
The dream strategy is to punch everyone in the face and tell them to get along, then return to Sealing, but alas...
The real answer is that taking a mild consequence gets an FP, which Meta-Hazou wants.A valid question. Clearly Hazou should have saved a FP and let himself get Medium'd.The real answer is that taking a mild consequence gets an FP, which Meta-Hazou wants.
Except he spent 2 FP on this confrontation, so the real solution is not to engage....Eh as long as there's timeskips involved I guess it's fine. I just don't want to get caught up in social shenanigans for 3 weeks IRL and 2 days in character.

Ok so here's the thing. Reprimand Yuno.
but I kinda want to mention: Yuno's behavior is seriously not kino for a good marriage and it doesn't seem to be improving at all.
Therapy? There is an extremely simple solution to the issue of Yuno and Noburi's relationship.
Is this something providing a clone with a wakahisa's water would change?Practicing for a new element requires that you have chakra regeneration capacity so that you can see how it feels to transform the chakra while your totals are changing. That means that Shadow Clones cannot be used for this study. Tobirama was very aware of this issue, spent a great deal of time trying to fix it, and was not able to. Nor was Hiruzen or any other technique hacker who ever looked into it. It's safe to assume that this is a quirk of chakra that cannot be gotten rid of or worked around.
If that's what you want, vote to immediately divest ourselves of the position of Clan Head. Hazou has a job, one that places duties to the members of his clan on him. He just failed those duties in multiple ways. 'Go back to things go boom' is just compounding that. If you want Hazou to be Clan Head, he has to do the actual damn job of Clan Head, which includes being basically hospitable and being able to corral members of the clan. We need to stop shunting this shit off onto Mari, because by virtue of our position any and all intra-Clan drama is our drama. So for once it isn't our fault. I say "fuck it" is not our drama and hazou will be bled regardless.
Back to make things go boom.
Do... you have no idea of Yuno's mental issues? Divorce at this point will lead to her going homocidal, suicidal or both. And again, member of our clan that we as Clan Head have a duty to. I am getting really pissed at people who do not seem to understand what exactly Hazou's responsibilities are.Divorce, it's not like she has much political merit any more (besides being 1/2 og the e-jounin) and they are clearly making each other miserable. I hope they work it out but if not she will always have a place in kei's harem.
It is time for Noburi and Hazo to speak as MEN.Eh it's definitely something I can see causing even worse problems/drama later. Plus it's clearly stressing our bro out
The dream strategy is to punch everyone in the face and tell them to get along, then return to Sealing, but alas...
No, I think that's probably a real thing. A decent model of FP is mental exertion, so without them, you're mentally tired or distracted.Made me think about how many genin might die from FP shortage after domestic social conflicts. Not as a real thing, but as an interesting shadow of the mechanics on the world.
I am getting really pissed at people who do not seem to understand what exactly Hazou's responsibilities are.
Perhaps you are guessing blind, but 'being a good host for visitors/envoys/ambassadors' and 'managing internal drama of the entity we are in charge of' seemed pretty fucking obvious from the get-go for me and I have no idea how you didn't see it. We are the leader of a socio-political entity/community/family. Being able to social better than any random genin seems like a prerequisite. This is leadership 101 and even being a socially blunt autistic hermit I can see the outlines of the role we have explicitly taken on, as it is pretty standard? It's basically the same as any feudal fantasy setting really. We don't.
We don't live in a magical quasi-feudal world that runs on "might makes right" where "might" is a personal application of magical powers.
We have ideas and beliefs about what clanhead responsibilities are, but how accurately those map to Leaf isn't clear. There have been some things explained to us in character, especially some of the more tedious administrative aspects, and that there's abundant paperwork, but we're guessing at a lot of the more social applications.
Also, there may be substantial differences between Clan Head responsibilities in Mist and Leaf, given the differences between how autocratic they each were. This isn't necessarily relevant, but it can help inform Hazoupilot and explain some of his misteps.
Until Hazou either gets a class from Mari on the unspoken rules and expectations of Clan Heads, or reads a published and accepted book/treatise on the topic of the expectations of a Clan Head (and we're given the substance of either of those), we're guessing at the specifics of what being a Clan Head entails.
That seems right. I'll give him one.Which reminds me, @Velorien since Hazou has 3 FP currently, does he get 1 additional one for surviving the update?
We'll get back to you, but PONWOG no.Is this something providing a clone with a wakahisa's water would change?
[X] Plan This Is Not Good Enough
-[X] Make family sit down and pay attention. Order them if you have to.
-[X] "This was an abject failure in every way. Kagome, that is never an acceptable conversation opener. In the future, do not ask people why they are the way they are, unless you feel ready to share your entire history about why you have issues of trust with every person who comes into this house. Yuno, I understand that you have certain issues with Noburi's interactions with other women, but disrespecting guests in our house is not acceptable, and refusing to let Noburi even read the message she intended for everyone to read was nothing but disrespect. If there are issues to be dealt with, you are expected to talk them out, not leave them to fester until they cause issues for the clan."
-[X] "And finally, I messed up. I did not foresee, prepare for, or do anything to get ready for this sort of event. I've been a bit focused on... existential external issues, but this is just another instance of not being available for the job. That has to change."
-i do not have the head for the mathematics of training, this is me trying to outline the issues that happened in a way that Hazou could give to the clan. we have both a problem of us not focusing on training social, and of other members of the clan just being allowed to let their issues fester. Yuno and Noburi need to talk their shit out. Kagome needs to understand that other people have internal trap-fields and we need to step up because Akane is not currently capable of fulfilling the role we have been pushing her into-
Kagome needs to have it explained with a comparison to his experience as to why what he did was rude and intrusive. Yuno will respond best to 'there are expectations of hospitality that you have failed because you aren't talking to Noburi' as it is least likely to make her homicidal and most likely to cause shifts. Pretending the problems aren't there is half the issue, and again. Hazou cannot micromanage what they do to address them, we can only say that they are issues, then provide an example of what to do, by admitting his own fuck-up and outright saying that he needs to change that. Again, I don't have the head for actual concrete training mechanics and actions. That's not me.I don't see how this kind of criticism of Kagome, Noburi, and Yuno is in anyway helpful. This is just bitching without a proper solution.
I would suggest more concrete steps, like Hazo attending improv theater or something.
My opinion doesn't really matter since I only read this quest and don't participate but I don't want to read yet another update where Hazō has to assuage Kei's feelings while she alternates between self-loathing and blaming the players for her apparent inability to understand that she lives in a fascist wizard deathworld rather than an anarchist utopiaAh yes, push all the blame for the social failures that the players refuse to do anything about on the (probably) autistic teenage girl who has a reasonable expectation for us to corral the fucking clan we are head of.
