I also think the differences in Oneiros' plan are important, just not right at the moment (although I would love to have more Neji scenes) . I think it'll all end up happening eventually either way, just changes the order that we do it in

That's true. I guess talking to Neji doesn't really have to be done immediately. To change your vote do you just edit your vote from earlier? I'm not sure if I'm going to change it yet but I'm definitely gonna think about it a bit more and then maybe.

Actually there is a very important reason I want to have the meeting with Neji ASAP. If we can get him on board before we approach the Amori we can offer them exclusive access to the 7th path as a market for wine. Which will put us in a stronger position to extract concessions in our negotiations

Wait why do we need Neji's help with that? Couldn't Hazou, Keiko, or Noburi do it?

  • Finish Canoe's request, then spend time with the Dog Clan.
    • Pay our respect to Kakashi with dogs he knew well or contracted.
    • Learn Dog culture and otherwise just interact with them.
    • Acquire some Dog contracts good with land-clearing.
  • Neji:
    • Discuss with Mari, Noburi, and Keiko beforehand; we want this to succeed.
    • Set up a meeting at the Naked Jaybird. Our eating there may help boost sales.
    • Suggest setting up Summoner-contracted diplomats with all of Konoha's other contracted Clans.
      • In addition to maintaining contact during missions, we could use them to transport goods this way, allowing an instantaneous transportation network between Summoning Clans that would make a fortune.
      • Additionally, we could transport goods and supplies in the Human Path in the same manner.
    • Suggest exclusive contracts with companies for instant, safe transport of goods; we'd all share the profits.
  • Look for information on Orochimaru:
    • Read through Jiraiya's notes, surely the man had something of note.
    • Ask Noburi if the Toads know anything.

Because we would be able to guarantee that they would be the only business that will be able to ship wine to the 7th's path. Once Neji is on board there are no summoners who would want to act as a shipping company

I don't see why he would choose to join us if he can do it himself tbh
We aren't on good terms with the Hyuga and he doesn't get anything out of joining us that he wouldn't on his own. Plus, he might not have even thought of it and we just give him the idea.

QMs have also expressed that Asuma had the right/authority/etc. do something more inventive with them, up to and including doing a second contest, rather than just assigning them to whoever he felt best. Either way though, Asuma would definitely have wanted to get those scrolls on summoners ASAP, so the decision would likely have been made a good while ago.

Would focus more on keeping the engineers' spirits up. Folks who already have knowledge are generally more valuable than new guys that you have to bring up to speed.
 
@Inferno Vulpix remind me what the current consensus is on Noburi's skill build? I figured having him grab some Rapport levels and some WDB would be appropriate atm.
 
Minor changes made. Briefly, I removed the Iron mine stuff in favor of just acquiring contracts, as the meat can be done in a later plan; and added a note to get other clans to vote in favor of the concubine bill.

Before running off to talk to Neji or anyone else, we should probably talk to the Toads what it would take them to send or receive permanent diplomats from other clans.

Turtle and Toads trade, so that's a good sign and Toads and Monkeys seem to have good relations, but why haven't they established any embassies before? They all had allied Summoners for decades. Basically even if Neji agrees the acutally Summoning clans might block the whole thing.

Also, we should probably ask the Toads what's up with the relations between the surrounding clans anyway:

They had some war's with the Condors and Mara. Why?
Why did they ally with the Pangolin and Otters against the Condors, what did the Condors do to bother them and the Otters?
Whats up with the Capybara clash?
etc.

We probably need to invite Hinata and whoever her Regent is along, especially if Mari would also decide to be present (or just close by).

And should we really invite him/them there? Usually you would invite someone into a restaurant you think they would like and that one just had a recent scandal/failure. Can't we just leave it up to Mari where the meeting is going to be?

Also, Neji is pretty prideful, maybe we should just assume/pretend that he knows all the implication and ask him to work with us on getting the clans to send diplomats? If he actually knows all those things, he might not fell and act offended for once and if he doesn't, he might actually ask some questions.

Without preparing more for each of this clans (or ordering Mari to do it) that seems like a bad idea, we don't really now how each of those clan (heads) see this matter.

Also Shikamaru/Keiko/Ami can just ask us for help again if they need to, not like we asked for anything in return.

There's nothing carrying a strong imperative for him right now, but the general path for right now is to increase his base combat potential. Get his fundamentals up to snuff and bring WDB up to the level of his other jutsu.

After that, there are a few things we can also start focusing on, like social stats or, my personal favourite, his mednin stats. There's also some hypothetical merit in raising CR until he could summon a Boss, but I think Oneiros is the only person here who believes that we could contract Gamabunta soon enough for it to be a training priority now.

Scattered thoughts:


With 361 +(a couple) XP we can buy Noburi's Rapport to 33 (more toad contracts yeah!) and his WBD to 36. Seems like a pretty solid investment to me.

As always he could use more chakra and more mednin stuff, but I dont think thats quite a priority atm (1250 chakra + some batteries will be enough for quite a while, I think).

Particularly, I think the Rapport investment is going to pour forth dividends. I expect IC combat in the next several weeks (within a few months), and WBD is amazeballs there so thats a good second pick.

(I think "why not Athletics" is answered with "bodyguard toad + he is the wizard", but arguments could be made for Alertness to get the initial summoning off. )

I'm a little of leery of committing so hard to max Summon path to make up for his direct combat weaknesses, for a few scattered reasons including 'you realize that no matter how fast Noburi gets the summon off they still go at the end of the turn and thus can't defend him from turn 1 enemies?'

But also, I would like to point your attention to the fact that Noburi's MedNin/MedKnow are level twelve each, and he's not going to get better unless we buckle down and spend XP on it.
