) After that, all additional production must be sold to the Tower at a standardized price of N ryō/seal, where N is 150% of the next highest-value seal that has a standard rate. Currently N = R200. It's been made clear in a non-official statement that this is a temporary arrangement and if it results in an inadequate number of seals coming in then the tax will be increased.

Scratches head

The holy grail of ninja combat is being sold for 30$ a pop?

The second highest value seal on the market is 20$ ?

Pardon me my bitching, but I don't really get it

I suggest finding something to bribe the pangolins with to offset their massive initial payments. Something that isn't a weapon, obviously, but something valuable.

Could we commission the creation of agricultural/industrial ninjutsu? Or make seals for that matter? We could hack purifiers to clean water, or refine minerals from rock.

You know... Give them some kind of enormous non-military recompense for their jutsu and diamonds.

Sat salt salt salt salt salt salt salt salt salt salt

We live in a military dictatorship, of course we'd have to sell our lives for cheap. :p

I was still under the impression that Sealing was rare ninja magic and so seals were super expensive. Perhaps thats still the case relatively too, but we seem to be keeping the 10ryo=1$ standard.

It's just weird to me that we see this "Everyone thinks Hazou is friggin crazy for having that many seals. Everyone thinks Hazou is crazy for giving storage seals out like candy those are EXPENSIVE!" type stuff, but at the end of the day when you put a price on it. Its like.... those aren't really that expensive at all... the sum total of Team Uplifts military armory loadout is like no more than 30k$ USD, using the skywalker price of 30$ for everything.

Perhaps the Tower is a bunch of cheapskates, I dunno. I don't mean to come off as "Grrr, I dislike this! This bad for us!" or something, it just seems really strange given in-text memerey.

YES IT WAS AND WE REALIZED THE CONSEQUENCES AFTERWARDS WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Change of plan, we say it's Leaf fault, under situation we are not allowed to talk about because of OPSEC.
hint it's also thanks to Jiraiya death (Something something he invented/made these things), therefore we are physically incapable of keeping the deal.(Why he didn't gave such seals to the Toads?)
We leak words of such to the Snakes, that will consider any leaf ninja untrustworthy(Aside from us, Not leaf ninja)and this plus our "alliance" will make them choose us.
Noburi can confirm it when he becomes the Toad summoner.
In short, it's all Leaf (And our father dying) fault, and we physically incapable of keeping the deal, not our fault.
We still have some reserve of seals that we are going to give them in case they need to protect themselves, FOR FREE, but otherwise we well keep them because everyone is trying to kill us.
Sounds like a plan?

We started the trade before going to Leaf, and credited it as our own seals.

HDK, but it's reasonable to assume that they are setting prices that will allow them to actually pay for a very high number while still being interesting to sealmasters.

Also, note that these prices are fixed by the Tower without regard to outside influences, and that the Tower has a monopsony on skywalkers.

You did? Didn't the negotiations happen after the clan was formed?

We lied and it was the brilliant sealmaster that was also our boss(Much more believable)?
We had the idea, but the only one that could create those was Jiraiya and we wanted that to remain under OPSEC?
He didn't gave seals to the Toad because that would have painted a target on his back in the Human path, while Keiko was a disposable asset?
Just launching ideas. *While screaming in Kagome*
The "We have a last shipment for free that we'll give if you need to defend yourself" could work, and we could sell it to Keiko as "This way the Pangolin won't be counter genocided, and that's good"

The original negotiations, where Keiko showed off Skytowers, was for Panjandrum's contract, plus Futon: Pangolin's Reach.

We did monthly trades for gold later.
Ah, right. Thanks.

In other news, please everyone go reread the informational post about skywalkers. There's a clarification regarding seal pricing -- the value is determined per element, not per seal. We should have said that originally.

@Noumero Could you have Hazou check his notes from the conversation with salt/spice merchants to confirm the prices of salt on the order of 1000kg or so shipments ?
