If a ninja 7 feet away from the seal shoots a lightning bolt at another ninja 7 feet away from a seal on a path which traverses the 6 foot radius (i.e. represents a chord of the circle), would that activate the seal?

Edit:
If Kei vacuum steps along that same path, does it detect her?

A vertical wall is erected 8 feet from the seal. Hazou, while chatting up Ami, is adhered horizontally to the wall such that his feet are outside the 6 foot radius but his torso is within it. Does the seal activate?
It only detects things that start working inside the radius.

I was imagining it more as "I can't stop Keiko doing whatever she thinks to do, because this is an issue that she cares about deeply." The idea that Hazō could reliably restrain her seems like a polite fiction.

Ditto for this rephrasing TBH.
For what it's worth:
This is a very different phrasing from what you originally said, and strikes me as perfectly reasonable. Your initial version definitely met my standards of blackmail.

Sidebar: So far as I can recall, no one else has spoken up to say that your original phrasing did not meet the standards of blackmail. That may have been apathy, but if not then it might be worth recalibrating your definition of the word, since it seems to be non-idiomatic.

Lighting Up the Dark

Just in case anyone's interested.
Oh, look! Way more than one chapter worth of content.

[X] Make Noburi the PC
Probably way too OP, to be honest. But the shipping action should be intense. I mean, Noburi was the one with the crush on Keiko, and he's the socially adept one, and he's currently got us beat for "S-Rank in the making". It makes way more sense for him to be the one who gets with Ami.

[] Noburi dreams of a beautiful Keiko-looking woman with Akane's energy and a sunny personality. Surely such an angel of a woman can't exist...?

[X] Interlude: Shiori panics about Goketsu Hazou's revenge for the orgy incident. She ask's her boyfriend Shikamaru for advice.
[X] Make Kagome the PC again.

Well, "guaranteed" is stronger than I would say, since I'm not willing to post a bond in case of internet failure or wrath of Jashin. Still, it is in fact the plan that @Velorien will be posting an update tomorrow. Possibly two, actually -- I think he had more content written than fit in one chapter.
Theres that literal genie again.

Fake edit: Didnt post when I tried earlier :(

FWIW I didn't write the original.

To the extent that "insightful" emojis imply agreement, the split seems to be 3-3. I checked with a housemate who seems to agree with me, so I'm tempted to think it's regional.

Feel free to steal this plan, it's intended to be a basis.

[X] Action Plan: Thought and Action

Misc, may be done at any time:
  • Create the Vibration-Sensor seal according to the specs that Keiko suggested.
    • If there is additional time (and Kagome clears it, etc.), change it to function in a cone, such that it may be placed multiple spots on the body to keep track of enemies moving.
In order:
  • Examination
    • Hazou is to spend a significant amount of time (upwards of two hours if necessary) thinking on what Mari said, the context in which she said it, and her motivations for saying it.
    • Think particularly on what he knows of her uncle, and of Truth Lost in the Fog's 'price'.
    • His conclusions about it don't really make her actions better, but it does explain them.
    • He may not understand her, but he stands by the words he said to her.
      • After all, he'd be an awful big hypocrite to let something like that sway his care for her compared to Kagome being... well, Kagome when he first met him.
  • Discussion
    • Talk with Hana
    • Yeah I have no idea what to do here.
  • Scene of eaglejarl's choice

Point of note: Hazō knows literally nothing about the internal mechanics of Truth Lost in the Fog.

Edit: For that matter, nor do the players. We've been very careful not to confirm or deny anything.

I dunno, you tell me.
*grumble grumble im not your PC grumble grumble* Alright, fine. We (as in Hazou) know that TLitF erases memories, and costs a "price". Mari-sensei notes that this price has only increased now that she has something to lose (us), and at this point TLitF is a jutsu she doesn't want to use anymore. Ever.

Of course, she could be lying.
She blinked as if remembering something. "Oh, yeah. Whatever you choose, I won't hurt you. You're in a forbidden genjutsu called Truth Lost in the Fog. As long as I'm willing to pay the price, I can choose for you to wake up as if you were dreaming, and forget everything you saw and heard.
Hazou watched for a moment. "Um...I was wondering about Yuno," he said carefully. "I'm worried how she'll take it if we tell her that Noburi never intended to marry her. Could you use Truth Lost in the Fog on her?"

Inoue froze, then went back to sipping carefully at the soup. After a moment she sighed.

"The price for that is getting higher all the time," she half-said, half-muttered. She licked her lips uncomfortably. "Hazou," she said. "I...really can't. Before, I didn't have much to lose but now I do. All of you are...precious to me." The last words came out in a rush and she blushed furiously.

Hazou grinned fit to split his face. "Awww, Sensei, that's so sweet!"

Inoue growled and tried to swat him, but it was half-hearted at best. "Don't let it go to your head," she said. "Anyway, no. Given how things are, I'm not sure I'll ever be comfortable using Truth Lost in the Fog again. We'll just have to find another way."

Thanks, as ever, for the exact citations!

e: Modified plan to refer to the "price" of TLitF.
