What can change the nature of a Mari?

TORMENT.
I went with "regret", myself, as I felt it had the most support from the narrative. But I would be very surprised if either of those improved the present situation.

These are my thoughts, yeah. We need to have a discussion with Hana, and then with Kagome.
Hazō: "Mum, will you help fix Mari-sensei?"

Hana: "No."

Hazō: "Kagome, will you help fix Mum?"

It doesn't change what actually happened, it just changes memories.
Shifts don't change what actually happened either, just memories.

e: and things get changed, of course, but the QMs were clear that henge wasn't retroactively removed, everyone just forgot about it entirely and it stopped working.

Y'all thought of trying to guilt trip Hana into helping fix Mari? Either that or a yamanaka and some memory erasure would probably help.

We need a certified expert in humans.

Send Pandaa in and tell him that we're not letting him out until she's fixed.

...what has Keiko started?

We should get shitfaced with Mari. Solves both of our problems.

So are we assuming Hana is a lump of clay now? How is she not supposed to see this coming and react accordingly?

A totally unfettered Kagome protecting his family and operating under the optimization of a proactively motivated Mori is kind of an OCP. It's not like any of us saw his assassination success attempt coming, and we know him far better.

Deidara seems more of a "Squish. Boom!" person than a "Boom, squish!" person.

That isn't blackmail?

E: Maybe you're confused because Keiko isn't the player character yet.
"You know, Keiko's willing to go pretty damn far for her loved ones, too."

"Too?"

"Long story. I'm trying to learn to respect people's agency better, so I'm not going to try to micromanage her or anything about it. But she's aware that you fucked Mari up in the head, and the only thing staying her hand toward you is the Mist-Leaf relations, and that you're my mother. That's not going to change, but you need to address Mari before Keiko does something we'll all regret. She probably won't."

HANA: Alright, then. *proceeds to do a ton of horrifying shit in order to keep Keiko from retaliating*

I was thinking more...

"Kagome: AAAAAAHHHH WHY ARE YOU FINGER PAINTING A SEAL WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE

Hazō: THAT'S THE POINT. KEIKO IS MAD AT ME.

Kagome: Oh, carry on then. Try not to leave survivors."

"Umm...."

"And that's why you shouldn't piss off Keiko."

Explosives solve all problems
Mari has problems now.
Meaning we need whatever the social equivalent of explosives is .
(Mmm mind explosives , there is now way that can go wrong )
