@faflec, @MMKII, to expand on the latest one, ISC will need some time to work to assemble STR. If everyone wakes up two hours before the time is up or something, the plan may be compromised. My initial suggestion was to refresh unconsciousness on key force multipliers only (the Wakahisa, primarily, and maybe the cognition-bloodlines; though we shouldn't put every planmaker out of commission, otherwise no team will feel safe committing to some weird foreigner plan when their leaders are unconscious).
Right, and I focused mostly on Wakahisa, social specs, intelligence bloodlines, and Team Kurenai. Is that OK?
Unclear in which cases it is applicable. Mark these sections somehow (different color? italics?).
Am probably going to remove this since we plan to coordinate with them regarding STR and that stuff, that was the point of that blurb.
Strategy unclear. We're putting traps everywhere except on "safe" underground and aboveground paths, then turn these paths into deathtraps once the assault starts, yes? I think this needs to be made more explicit.
Will add stuff.

Everyone realizes that nobody heard Jiraiya's warning about chakra drain, by the way? By the time toads got to us, we already knocked everyone out. If we're now refreshing their unconsciousness and they will wake up only a few hours before R2, would anyone remember to mention it to them? I sure hope so.

By the way, are we refreshing everyone's unconsciousness? a) Is it possible, b) is it safe for our prisoners, c) is it viable?

Strategy not completely unclear: We need a safe path above ground and going under our traps is a solution to sealmaster traps.

Regardless leave nothing to chance.

@faflec if you could expand this a bit to capture the intent a bit more.

Please *do not* skimp on words. The wordcount bonus of this range vs 3-400 is meaningless for this update.

As long as the bonus isnt negative, it matters little if you must sacrifice for sake of clarity.

Remember to despell genjutsu. And grow as a person by remembering to consider the impact of our words.

E: autocompletion of words messing with me.

@eaglejarl, @Velorien, @OliWhail:

Is messing with equipment a major faux pas? If it was would Keiko veto it?

@everyone-else: Seriously people, do you want our opponents getting any actual prep time at all? Paint and blunting is cheap for us, does not take anything away from our enemies, and if it's bad Keiko or Noburi will veto it.

If they do get time to clean, them it keeps our enemies of balance and tired (Mental consequence). If not the projectiles we have to dodge will be brightly colored (circumstance bonus).

Do any of you seriously believe that we can afford to not stack the deck as much as possible?

Putting our enemies off balance and forcing them to triage is something that cannot be done during the rest day alone, we have to do it now so that it will hit them tomorrow.

Also what the fuck is it with people being okay with only having one plan for each goal?
:jackiechan:

We need to stack every iron we can in the fire, so that if some of our plans fail (as they will) we don't fuck or own entire strategy. Especially when our strategy rests on two very specific things happening, neither of which is particularly likely. (The formation of super team red, and our ability to defeat them).

Like why are you all so willing to cut it close? Especially given the hat is at stake here!?

So would this work?
  • Get ISC to precommit to strategies:
    • Two-pronged assault on <required> safe aboveground path & underground assault.
      • We want to limit their attack vectors while having plans to counter this.
Could we change it to "honor the ransom terms"?
Done.

[X] Action Plan: Retroactive Partying

This looks good, although I do feel like Hana is being underutilized as a possible resource. (And I'd like to read more of her.)

She might turn up on her own initiative since she probably knows where we are. I just want this to happen so she can chew out Jiraiya for taking her son to a stripper club tbh.

Perhaps clarify that we're re-draining only some of the prisoners? As it is, it reads as if we want to re-drain everyone, but especially "high-priority targets", not that we want to re-drain only the high-priority targets.

And I don't think we need to re-drain all high-priority targets either, for aforementioned reasons. Collaborate with Shikamaru on this too: leave enough team leaders/planners conscious for Shikamaru's plan to still be viable, but otherwise re-drain as many people as possible. Drain the Wakahisa (and one Minawa Ichirou, if from a Blue Team in R1) in any case, and spill water from their barrels. Maybe destroy barrels outright.

@Noumero I think cp would be our limited resource here and is a valid concern. That's part of why I was thinking the perfumerators being used to attract chakra predators to the opposition, forcing them to waste equipment and their chakra reserves to even the odds, was a good thing. Enemy Wakahisa might have chances to drain them, but the chakra critters should be too dangerous to disable.

We could take steps to attract some chakra critters beforehand to drain if we do want to increase our cp reserves on top of the re-drain.

OK if we're not going to be worrying about word count would anyone mind if I re-added the paint/blunt people's equipment thing with the addemenum that we check to make sure we're not commiting some sort of faux pas or whatever? Is this acceptable to everyone?

LIKE THIS POST FOR YES, HUGS THIS POST FOR NO.

  • Run plan through Keiko/Noburi.
    • Maintain OPSEC (handsigns/Air Dome).
  • Don't jeopardize Round 2.
  • Stick together.
Retroactively:
  • To enemies:
    • Guesstimate combat styles (physique, weapons...).
      • VD check elemental affinities.
    • Put stolen word-halves in Seventh Path.
    • Perfumerate them + equipment.
  • Pangolins:
    • Maybe unsummoning some (Pandojuru, Pangaya), reducing chakra drain.
    • Summon Paneru: Casing/defense consultation.
      • Possibly requisition materials for R2. Pay with 5SB/gold.
  • Deliver prisoners to ISC.
    • "Honor the ransom terms".
    • Confirm details to keep story straight.
    • Help make anti-Gōketsu alliance:
      • Should we act super-confident or 'try' to undermine alliance?
      • Threaten to burn word halves (?).
    • Get ISC to precommit to strategies:
      • Two-pronged assault on <required> safe aboveground path & underground assault.
        • We want to limit their attack vectors while having plans to counter this.
  • R2 prep:
    • Brainstorm plausible attacks/defenses.
    • Case locations with Pangolins for: tunneling defenses, Pangolin counterattack/ambush vectors, effective defensive artillery fire....
    • Make thin MEW sheets for 5SB.
      • Enough to defend outer walls/key rooms from inside.
      • Tie together (wire) & put in storage seals.
    • Make seals as time permits.
    • Test implosion seal anti-underground effectiveness/nonlethality (use clones).
    • Re-drain some prisoners to refresh unconsciousness (Wakahisa, social specs, intelligence bloodlines, Team Kurenai...).
      • Collaborate with ISC.
Afterparty:
  • Socialize!
    • Jiraiya calls the shots.
    • Teammates:
      • Want to stay in touch.
      • Worked really well as a team.
      • (Subtly) Mention value of working relationship with Hokage's children.
    • Comment on growing legend, subtly discuss how to leverage (build/maintain reputation).
    • Ask if he wants us to remove Team Kurenai from tournament (goad Kiba?).
  • If Hana comes, maybe tell a story (OPSEC-sanitized).
Next Day:
  • <HELP>

I am ABSOLUTELY NOT WILLING to put the rest day in this!!!

I want a FULL DEFENSIVE plan (editing pictures and tactics together now) complete with tactics that we can have everyone shitcheck IC and add to AND then have Keiko FS optimize it for further bonuses.

This CANNOT be like the fort debacle again. We need to take every step towards optimizing this in as many details as possible and throwing EVERY CARD WE'VE GOT AVAILABLE into it so that we can crush this one.

If it takes another week and a half, so be it.

I dunno, are the QMs willing to put up with another week and a half before the event's over? @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail

Alright, everyone seems to be wanting for me to readd the blunt kunai thing with addenenum, so I'll do it.

It's over a week-and-a-half, since that's only when the punching starts. For all we know the QMs have to roll like a bazillion die. :p

I think we need to collaborate on this with ISC too.

@faflec, @MMKII, what about my idea with slipping psywar letters to every psychologically vulnerable prisoners?
Collaborate with Keiko and Shikamaru to give everyone small letters, tailor-made to unsettle, needle, or depress them personally. "Team Downfall? more like Team Fallflat ", "Who is the slacker now, Kiri?", [insert Intimidation 40 note from Keiko to Anna], "You've gravely disappointed your Kage, Hazama", etc.
What about @Orisha91's idea with attracting chakra predators to enemies by perfumerating them? Is it viable?

@faflec: Also the entire thing about discussing tactics with shika is problematic.

We are basically precommiting to a certain class of defensive plan (significant aboveground traps w/ a safe-looking route to the door and where we make allowances to make an underground attack look good.)

We will need the intervening time to think up more ideas, and nailing the broad strokes down now is costly.

Also Keiko and Shika get each other. Keiko can figure out how to landscape so that Shika knows the signals we want to send beforehand.

Alternately we send a pangolin to sneak over to Nara before the 2 hours are up, and telepath him the broad strokes of what we would like him to do.

If youre adding the paint with addendum, is tree sap added to this still off the table?

Are we allowed to repeat the Indestructible Fort manouvre inside the facility? Build an IF around the safe?
Likely not. Were going to make most of the facility invulnerable instead tho.

I think we need to collaborate on this with ISC too.

Perhaps im thick skinned but i dont see this as anything but an obvious ploy unless we get super personal. I consider that out of bounds chiefly because i know many people who arent me wont vote for it.

I think I could add something. Check the plan at the bottom, see if it works.

Pinging @MMKII Thoughts?

My opinion on tree sap is that it's costly and time-consuming. We don't have tree sap, we don't know if the Pangolins have tree sap, and unrelatedly I honestly think it's not going to be plausible our enemies can ever recover the stuff. Compare paint, where we know Pangolins have it.
Do we have any time efficient way of drawing in chakra beasts?
I don't think we do.

We dont need to make allowances to make an underground attack look good. They have no way of knowing this until tunneling into traps and by then its too late.

This is not a precomit on our part, by the way. We can do whatever we want defense wise (i find this particular class of defense optimal modulo some details that avoid the Fort Problem) but Shika is preplanning for this class of defense and will steer people to tactics such as we have suggested.

We have no binding commitment to actually do this on our own end if we find some strategy more beneficial a few days from now.
