Are you suggested that I would deliberately do something mean to you just because, after an implicit deal to provide metainformation in exchange for moving things along to the actual event, you instead chose to spend the whole update on prep and not get to the actual event?

You wound me, good sir. You wound me.

*turns back to his keyboard*

Sorry about that, it was just a bit late, and since this is an important event, we really want to get our ducks in a row when it comes to our strategy.

On the plus side, said strategy is shaping up to be "Punch literally everyone with overwhelming force", so we should make it up to you next week.

Of course not. We're on a precipice of a conflict with possibly the highest value of (scale + violence_potential + duration) this thread has ever participated in. Everyone is fully on board. There are serious strategies for punching, exploding, game-theoretically coercing, pangolining, torturing and intimidating dozens of innocent enemies flying around.

All of this is less than a week coming, provided nothing would seriously deviate from our calculations.

Why would you shoot yourself in the foot by deliberately sabotaging or surprising us? Who knows how we'll react to that. Better keep things as simple as possible. At least for now...

literally break everyone's legs
Punch literally everyone with overwhelming force
Not sure which makes a better quest tag

the crab summoner is also a genin at the exams
The Kani clan do not actually have the Crab contract, for reference. It's a clan jutsu.

@eaglejarl @OliWhail @Velorien

Regardless of any combat value, I think we can safely assume that Pandaa is relatively competent at general Pangolin stuff like digging and moving earth around, right? At least significantly more so than a human would be?
Better than a human digging with their hands. Probably worse for most purposes than, like, Tunnel Excavation and MEW.

IT'S THE KANI CLAN

THE FUCKING KANI CLAN

FOR FUCKS SAKE OLIWHAIL YOU NAMED THEM YOURSELF

"Ooh, ooh, me next!" an older girl with the claw of the Kani clan crest on her lapel butted in.

...

@eaglejarl and @Velorien have earned an additional 2 XP each for allowing me to use the "Nobby-niichan/knobby-knee chan" pun I have been saving forever and letting me name the crab-summoning clan 'Crab'.

That means he's literally cheap but skilled labor for fortification building. This will be very helpful, I'm sure he will appreciate helping us out too! Jolly Cooperation!

So you're saying that if we break all of their legs, hands and fingers they would probably not the be able to use the jutsu?

Well, well. Will you look at that. It seems we found the answer to counter even the most OP of bloodlines: excessive violence.

Or as my good friend Bageljar would say: "If life gives them limbs, break them. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞"

I'm busy writing or I'd do it myself, but could someone please check the SV TOS? I'm wondering if "I will beat you like a taiko drum" is a violation.

I checked and it is not explicitly forbidden in the ToS. So if SV's rules work anything like the Fifth Event's rules, you should be fine to abuse any loopholes you find and wreak havoc on your enemies without repercussions.

This thread since the publication of 5th event rules:

"Check in your rule book, bet you can't find anything in there that says a dog bus-sized pangolins can't play help us break everyone's legs"

The proctor takes a few seconds to furiously page through their rule book before admitting "Ain't no rules says a dog murderous pangolin can't play basketball help them cripple everyone else in the event"

Alright, double-checking... I note that the cells do not have the same verisimultitude requirement as the lockbox does. What this means is that we can stick them in a cell without a door (MEW bars?) that's only got enough room for them, meaning that they can't be gotten out with explosives, and any targetted attacks of insufficient precision would risk hurting them. (We, naturally, have more than a few means of getting them out, and I suspect the proctors do too.)

Is this intended @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail? I note that prisoner transfer is not nearly so time-sensitive a task as intelligence transfer would be, and it is unnecessary (and in fact against one's interest, working in T&I) to make it easy to get them out, so...

Has to prevent escape with jutsu also. Jutsu helps with that, but then Noburi is on periodic *visit-prisoners-and-drain* duty

I mean, obviously they'd be tied up approrpriately and forced to stand inside there.

I also note that we are free to inflict BOTH moderate mental consequences and moderate physical consequences, the former of which would be incredibly easy if we had them captured.

e: That means that if we capture everyone in the first round, we can inflict 2xAspect bonus penalty on all their actions in the next.

e2:

Keiko: "You know, next round, we won't need to wait two hours before we come after you."

We don't actually need to stay on shifts.

As Mist nin, we were trained to be awake for 48 hours at peak effectiveness.

As a simulated facility, we should have a simulated schedule. I imagine we can claim we had intel concerning imminent attack, and were therefore on high alert. We can even forge that intel as evidence.

HDK

Which we more or less just did in the [REDACTED] infiltration event. Not sure if pulling it off twice in quick succession is a good idea.
It is not.
