Wait, CotWG can propel you into aereal zones? You know it's kinda sad that Oro didn't realize that he has essentially unrestricted flight by combining sky walkers with cloak of the wind god.

they'd quickly notice they can tunnel beneath it, breaking past the much-weaker Iron Earth defense
The problem is they get blocked by the ground, they will cut through some indeterminate level of material, but will not cut the bedrock to form.Is there a reason you can't turn a force dome rune upside down?
It won't tunnel. So you have to excavate. Is there a reason you can't turn a force dome rune upside down?
It's already a dome, but it would be really funny to have another game-changing turn-it-upside-down moment. Is there a reason you can't turn a force dome rune upside down?
They are stopped by dirt now too, that was a change from the prospective mechanics. I am pretty sure.Force Domes aren't actually domes. They form spheres unless stopped by something hard, like rock or metal. You can't turn them upside down though, it will still start forming from above like a water fountain.
WoG on Discord was the combat took 7 Rounds, or roughly 21 seconds.I would place Ninja Radar 2.0 above everything but Iron Earth 2.0. After Ninja Radar, some means of countering Itachi and Konan's flight. Flight seems to be mechanically absurd, I'm surprised Deidara wasn't taken down by a Mari or Kurenai clone hitting him with their best genjutsus, or failing that, Ma and Pa's genjutsu. We really need a debrief with all major combatants to discern why and how they failed to tag him with anything for hours on end, and whether Itachi might have similar capability with Crow Summons.
Yeah. Itachi still has the ability to summon multiple crows. And maybe the boss. We're basically hard countered by good fliers. And if Itachi's smart, he'll kidnap Noburi's sister and clan for the chakra barrel, letting each Akatsuki get their own crow to fly on.Now that I've processed the chapter a bit, I'm kind of shaken by how tough the fight against Deidara was. Oro described him as Akatsuki's "weakest member by far", but he alone almost won against our entire combined assault force. I'd essentially dismissed Deidara as a non-threat, I'd assumed that a reasonable force of skywalking Sannin clones would be able to dispatch him without much trouble; that turned out not to be the case at all, and now I'm wondering what else I've missed.
I'm really hoping that at least Sasori was in the fortress and got exploded. Four Akatsuki members left alive is bad enough; if we only killed one, and the other five include their S-rank sealmaster, I'm very pessimistic about our ability to win the subsequent conflict.
Air Leadening 2.0 would help with this, shut down flight entirely for natural fliers. Starts very slightly above 10m.Yeah. Itachi still has the ability to summon multiple crows. And maybe the boss. We're basically hard countered by good fliers. And if Itachi's smart, he'll kidnap Noburi's sister and clan for the chakra barrel, letting each Akatsuki get their own crow to fly on.
Are there any other fliers Akatsuki can recruit from AMITY? (think all the other villages. Are there other fliers that exist?) How screwed are we if Akatsuki attacks us all riding crow summons?
Mari's and presumably Kurenai's Genjutsu requires eye contact and Deidara was something between 25-50% of a mile away from them. I don't think they can actually cast genjutsu from that distance, nor get close enough to Deidara to actually make eye contact (at least without popping; Deidara is fast and Shadow Clones are squishy). Mari was probably focused on the ground assault anyway, since her genjutsu is more specialized towards mass mind control.Flight seems to be mechanically absurd, I'm surprised Deidara wasn't taken down by a Mari or Kurenai clone hitting him with their best genjutsus, or failing that, Ma and Pa's genjutsu
Kagome's Tears? With Deidara gone it's not that important, but it would still be nice to have against Konan.Okay assuming we're getting back on that grind soon
Priority list:
1) Iron Earth 2.0
2) Chakra Shredders
3) Primed Force Dome with on/off switch - call it Force Dome 2.0
4) ???
Really? That seems inconsistent with stuff in the chapter.WoG on Discord was the combat took 7 Rounds, or roughly 21 seconds.
It probably took 7 hours to do IRL though 😔
There was barely time to throw more clay. He was too busy keeping the dragon away from the multiple attacks that were filling the battlespace to counterattack more than once every dozen seconds or so.
Not strictly incompatible, but weird phrasing if it was that short.Wait, Tsunade. She had run through this entire area not two minutes ago; he had thought it odd since he wasn't in that section of the battlespace at the time, but he had been too distracted to think about it. She had left this stuff floating in midair. Floating snot. Probably some Slug technique.
I understand that IE2.0 is probably easier (given that IE1.0 was Easy), but I think that a tunneling version of Force Dome is better if we can do it. Force Dome was a Medium at EffPS57, so maybe we could run a prep day for Tunneling Force Dome?
@eaglejarl is the 7 Rounds we got on Discord roughly correct? That's 21 seconds. Not strictly incompatible, but weird phrasing if it was that short
Good idea, I was thinking hemisphere, but if we can trap them, all the better. Probably worth chaining up to.We need flier counters. Air Leadener 2.0 probably works, but might also be worth considering a rune that projects a continuous conical effect and can be rotated (think floodlight).
This was Easy, right? We can do it.Kagome's Tears? With Deidara gone it's not that important, but it would still be nice to have against Konan.
I was actually thinking some kind of damaging effect, like force or lightning - but the general category of runes is interesting.Good idea, I was thinking hemisphere, but if we can trap them, all the better. Probably worth chaining up to.
Ooh. A thought occurs. Back in Chapter 666, the Pocket-Space rune was 'could maybe do', and back then we only had eff. PS 45.Okay assuming we're getting back on that grind soon

Prep Pocket Space Rune. Difficulty Result: Hazō thinks he could maybe do this rune. Hazō also thinks the Space Stretch Rune and similar things would build useful veterancy here.
So now, it's probably fairly straightforward. Given the scale runes have previously demonstrated, it seems fairly plausible that this or an upgrade might let us pull a Whirlpool and just hide Leaf in a pocket dimension until Akatsuki goes away. (I mean, not really, there are logistics issues and oxygen/food/sunlight; but even the ability to temporarily pull Leaf into a pocket dimension for a day or so would be pretty useful.) And even if it doesn't cover that much area, it seems like a very useful tool to have available.Day 5
Infuse Icarus Rune.
Hazō (Primordial Sealing): 20 + 25 (crossover bonus from SSA-boosted Sealing) + 6 (prep) + 0 = 51
Hazō (Earthshaping): 50 - 6 (timeladder down) + 6 (prep) - 9 = 41
Bait them into the sky with clones, Icarus Rune their asses. Even better if we can find other jutsu or seals survive a fall; they must exist.I think we need to reevaluate our aerial doctrine. If the Akatsuki are now effectively limited to Skywalkers then we're still in a pretty good place - we can Air Leaden them and rely on RERs.
Article: Co-Location Rune
Rune
Duration: 1 Week
This Rune is shaped like an archway, roughly five feet across and eight feet high. These dimensions can be expanded with more substrate. When activated, the Rune links up with other Co-Location Runes up to 25 miles away. Stepping through the archway instantly brings you to the Zone of the next closest Co-Location Rune instantly. You can see the destination through the archway (from both sides). The archways can be toggled off/on without burning the rune, but still contribute to the overall Duration.
I'm bearish on this; I expect Itachi can survive a fall from a great height via some sort of Wind justu. Kisame can just create and then dive into a bunch of water (terminal velocity means little when you can chakra boost and break the surface tension with a jutsu). Hidan...falls and explodes or whatever nonsense he did last time. Sasori likely has a gliding puppet, and Konan can't be killed like that anyway.Bait them into the sky with clones, Icarus Rune their asses. Even better if we can find other jutsu or seals survive a fall; they must exist.
This idea comes around every so often, and while no-one has consulted a geologist(AFAIK), it might damage the stability of the local geology. Probably bad long-term for places we care about, and Iron Earth 2.0 is probably easier and has some extra use cases.I understand that IE2.0 is probably easier (given that IE1.0 was Easy), but I think that a tunneling version of Force Dome is better if we can do it. Force Dome was a Medium at EffPS57, so maybe we could run a prep day for Tunneling Force Dome?
Edit: Other than that, I'd say our next priority is a Konan counter. Maybe a rune that sets all paper on fire? Or just chakra-infused paper?
I largely agree and it is high on my priority list, just not as high as IE 2.0, FD 2.0, or Chakra ShreddersSo now, it's probably fairly straightforward.
