I'm not so worried about him spreading general malicious gossip, as I am about specific wrong words going in specific wrong ears that might well listen to them despite their distrust or even loathing of the source.
I really hope Dazarel doesn't turn out to be smart enough to make this backfire on us.
I really doubt he delved our mind enough to learn about that. Hell, didn't Poptart say he only skimmed us to figure out the best time to show up to screw us over? Or am I misremembering?
The funny thing is?Don't think Poptart actually confirmed anything either way, but going back to the update where he shows up, my understanding is as follows.
I'm actually more worried, in the hypothetical where Dazarel learns incriminating information on us, about him talking to Dandeer. You know, it comes back down to the same argument that we've been having the past few votes: did he or didn't he find out about the conspiracy by mind reading before we sealed his powers? But, to be perfectly honest, this argument is kinda moot:
There is no way in HFIL we would be allowed to refuse Berra the right to talk to Daz...
The funny thing is?
People are actually forgetting that we invited Berra into our head to teach us Mind Delve during the fight.
Which puts him credibly closer to the details of the conspiracy than literally anything Daz had.
Actually, we don't know if it was rolled. So I'm wondering. We know that @PoptartProdigy has rolled for Kakara's sexuality. But have they done the same for Jaffur? Because I think it would be hilarious if she ended up being straight, but he was gay.
pls rule on my omake now that the year is over thnksYear 5 concluded.
This time, there is no vote, but I want you all to chat among yourselves. Year 6 begins next time, and I want you all to discuss what your plans are. What do you want Kakara to achieve, moving forward? What do you want to do over the short term? The medium term? The long term? What constitutes those time spans, for you (this in particular is important; is short term a year, or a month?)? What is the most important thing? The least?
The post will be up in the next couple of days; by the time it arrives, I want everybody to have a clear idea of what they want to achieve.
Have fun, everybody. Hope you enjoyed.
You give him an uneasy look. "How much did you read before coming down here?"
He grins, teeth razor-sharp even if they are small. Surface-level scans from anybody unshielded. Surprisingly few of them. You were the only unshielded noble,
I would say fixing the above be at or near the top of the list.
Kind of hard to enjoy when you're chapter titles incite paranoia.
Ah, yes.

Re: Jotun Five
Dear Lieutenant-Commander Vorhim,
Due to your honestly abysmal performance on Jotun Five, you and your much reduced forces will be cycled back to Hearth for remedial training. While encountering a defense force that is comprised entirely of psychics is a rare occurrence, you should have remembered the training you went through to earn your laurels and not blindly sacrificed over half your fighting force in a quite pointless aerial maneuver. On the trip back, I would suggest meditating upon the following points:
Firstly, Never take your attention off of a psychic. Ignoring any hostile psychics is, by far, the worst option anyone can take, as most of their tricks cannot be contested unless you are aware of them. Neglect paying attention to one for just a second, and you may find your heart being stopped, your lungs being crushed, or various nasty tricks being deployed upon your head.
Secondly, Never engage in direct mind-to-mind confrontations. No matter their abilities, all psychics share a huge number of telepathy variants, and thus have the will to back them up. Touching a hostile psychic's mind, unless you are psychic yourself, is tantamount to suicide, as they would proceed to enter your mind with little resistance and tear it apart from the inside - like what your second experienced. Even ki-based mental defenses have... limited effectiveness against psychics, usually failing quickly against a focused assault.
Thirdly, Never Assume you Know Everything A Psychic Can Do. Due to the nature of how PSI works, no two psychics share the same abilities - some have more mental focuses, some have more self-focus, some have more physical focuses... point is, the number and amount of abilities they can have is nigh-infinite. Attacking a psychic without knowing their abilities may cause you to end up murdered in frozen time, which I hear is not a good way to go.
Fourthly, Don't assume their weakness is a weakness. Many psychics are known to neglect their Ki, that is true. That does not mean their low power is a weakness, as PSI is quite good at filling the gap. Even at relatively low strengths of under a hundred thousand, one can have PSI strength over five to ten times that - and that is discounting what happens when multiple psychics pool their wills together. Attempting to directly contest that with Ki will certainly fail - especially as PSI is incredibly effective against Ki-based abilities overall.
Hopefully, considering these four points will prepare you for the next time you end up in an embarrassing situation, like Jotun Five.
Yours Truly,
Lord Pola
