At least in the Martial case, the double-action action and the "position revealed" action are separate. We got the Council seat from forming our PMC; we need to upgrade it dramatically to get the double action.

We may have to grit our teeth and take actions to train up Doof's Occult score; I'm almost sure those will be available as Personal actions.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some Occult action associated with Malifishmertz that can do for Doof's Occult what Temujin's training course did for his Martial. Though that's not a certainty.

We should also consider having Janna take 'study' actions in hopes that that will increase her Occult stat.
Or, once we get the castle transferred, just hire Mal directly.

What would we even call the social media platform? And who should we have on it, since P&F are back in school? Wile E. Coyote? If so, should we brand it as an ACME product?(with plans of extending it into a video streaming service, and MOOC platform? We even have good names for those - ACME Unlimited, and ACME University!)

They could both learn dance magic too. I think as many units as possible should go through to learn dance magic. In my head I imagine the entirety of DEI putting on Thriller or Walking on Sunshine and fending off Toffee and Bill through the power of synchronized dancing. Too bad Doof made the Dance-inator in season 1.
We need to hire Juniper.

Doof: "Now, I'm calling you back because since your last interview, it has become apparent that we need help saving an exiled enchanted princess and also the world from an immortal evil lizard wizard through the magic of dance?"

Juniper: "Okay."

Doof: "May I just say you're taking this remarkably well?"

Juniper: "I've been preparing for this exact moment all my life. Bring it!"

I don't think Felldrake can be very helpful with dance. He had two left feet while he was alive, and no feet now that he's a stick.
Also, too grumpy for dance magic.

Or, once we get the castle transferred, just hire Mal directly.
Unless the Council works a very specific way, having Malifishmertz with a high Occult stat isn't actually a substitute for Doof having a high Occult stat, just like how Genghis Khan having high Martial doesn't mean Doof's Martial becomes relevant. Doof's base stat is what we add to hero unit stats to determine outcomes, so what Doof is bad at, our entire country is relatively bad at.

Relatively.

Unless Malifishmertz is an Occult powerhouse on the same level as Xanatos in Intrigue or Shego in Martial, our ghostly grunkle is no substitute for Doof bringing a high base stat to the table. I want to both have Malifshmertz as a hero unit and train up Doof in magic.

Looking back, I'm kind of surprised Doof didn't get 1 or 2 occult points from learning basic alchemy.

We had 0 points in occult at the beggining of the turn and we succeded a roll that had a 75% chance of failling, I know it got us a new personnal action but it's a bit disheartning and make me a bit reluctant to give Doof a try at occult actions, hopefully, brewing those potions will help us raise Doof's occult stat.
Wait a minute. We attacked it with a 0 occult score, effectively framing our research through SCIENCE! instead of MAGIC!

What if our success here without Occult means we can start to bend the line between Occult and Learning?

With you finishing up your basic occult studies this month, you were able to find clear parallels between a lot of 'Alchemy' and basic chemistry. The two seem to have basically been the same thing up until about 400 years ago, when alchemy started focusing on how magic thinks things ought to be whereas chemistry started focusing on how things actually are.
What if our success here without Occult means we can start to bend the line between Occult and Learning?

Doof sorta already is if he's noticing similarities.

==========

Just thought of a theory. Maybe Doof's inators use a smidge of magic and the reason why it's there is because he was a garden gnome as a kid. Maybe having been a garden gnome leaves some sort of magical trace? Nahhhhhhh.

But anyway at the auction what if magical beings look at Doof and get an uneasy feeling due to his past as a garden gnome. Meanwhile if any gnomes (EX Gravity Falls gnomes) show up they look at Doof and see a tall gnome. Hilarious! Witches Spells and Wood Trolls beware .

Let's ask mickey!
This annoys me.

"Will you fight? Or will you die like a dog?"

That sentence has no relation to the previous statements by either the duck or the mouse and is nothing more than an appeal to the reader's emotions - and appeals to emotion are tools.

This tool has no purpose, except for the one that we can infer from consequence: Attempting to get an observer to agree with person using that tool. The words that I would use to describe it are 'empty rhetoric'.... this lazy analysis may be invalidated by further context (i.e. the rest of the conversation in the comic), but I can only make judgement on the information I have.

Also I have problems with the use of the word "absurd". The underlying physical laws are perhaps absurd, but taking those physics as axiom makes the (inherently meaningless) chemical reactions entirely logical - though I admit that I am leaning on the anthropic principal.

I think the dog part is Mickey called Donald a coward because he's given up on life. Bemoaning the absurdity of chemicals is him basically saying "Free will doesn't exist, what am I going to do with my life?"

Edit
It is a meme not an essay. The bizarre incongruity is part of the joke.
The meme isnt an essay, but their response to it is as serious as one and raised some good points

Seriously, Juniper is looking betet and better these days. Initially she was a weak unit whose main contribution would be as Technor's support. Nowadays with Dance Magic, and how much use we've gotten out of Technor, hiring her is looking better and better. Just a pity Technor hasn't got legs, though. It takes two to tango.

... Actually, isn't there's an action to build Technor a body with legs?

Look at his picture closer. He has really small legs that dangle from his hover couch. Not that they'd be very useful.

Holy shit, I didn't even think of a special technor synergy! I thought her deal was adding her martial to actions that already have a hero
They've even teamed up once already!

Yeah, the whole M.O.D.O.K. thing, but those are more for decoration than Evil Dancing. Let's build him the Golden Robot body from Milo Murphy.

Back when she was first interviewed, one of her main sticking points is that she could supply Technor with power, getting rid of his power-hungry malus and making him an absolute beast of a generalist unit. She pretty much told us she was working with Technor before we hired him, and I think they still hang out for karaoke nights.

"Always do team-ups" is an interesting way of phrasing it. Presuming that, indeed, she can be added onto National Actions that already have a hero on them, I'd be willing to bet that in exchange she can't take on National Actions on her own. Or go on Quests on her own, but, like, come on, when are we ever gonna send one hero unit on a Quest?
