"I… I need help." She chokes out eventually. "I need to find Star. Marco went to find her. I don't think he did. Toffee's after her. I know he is."
Well, at least we now know what happened to Marco. And we now know, in character, what we're dealing with here. This is good. This is very good, especially if Janna gives us a description of Star that matches the "Devil Girl". That should make her happy and inform us of a new Occult hero nearby

Shiiit....looks like I underestimated the trauma Janna had gotten. She is just one step away from snapping right there. Good news is it look's like the option to look for Star/Marco will be added next turn.

I have a lot less sympathy for the Mewmans and Star's group than most people who watched the show probably do. The simple fact is that Mewni was a Kingdom founded on genocide because Glossaryk felt like being a dick.

If I were Toffee, I'd be pissed too.

Literally the only reason I didn't vote to take the deal was because the utility loss from losing our sole occult hero would have been too big. . .

IC Confirmations
-Interdimensional travel exists
-Toffee is from another dimension
-Janna knows someone high up on Toffee's shit list
-Janna is not an emotionless robot wearing human skin

OOC Confirmations
-As far as Janna knows, Marco is alive
-Star and Marco might be willing to work with us.
-An action is coming up to seek them out.
-Toffee's going down.

Agreed with you on that one.

I don't much care for Mewni either. I think it's a hellhole.

The key factor is that it opens up other dimensions, some of which have better people running them, like Tom's family, or useful, like magic supermarket. And at the very least, Marco needs to be given a good shake, because someone as young as him should not be crossing dimensional barriers when the situation is as perilous as it is.

Huh. This one of those morally gray situations where of course to us this guy seems like the baddie, but the heroes have got a mile high list of wrongdoings for why the baddie even exists?

Hmm Star's still alive, Marco might still be alive.Huh we might be able to undo the villain win ending neat.

So all Christians are guilty of the crusades and people of modern America are all guilty of genocide? You blame the people whom do the acts not their descendants. You want to aim that vitriol at the original queen and her idea to make insane super solders that are immortal? I'll be right there with you.

Not to mention Toffy wants to wipe out all magic and is working with someone whom wants to wipe out humanity. That is more then enough of a reason to kick the lizard to the curb.

Marco is a kid whose in way over his head because like most teenagers he fell hard for a girl with baggage.

Do I think he's in a shit situation? Yeah, but honestly? Toffee is kind of in the right here. . .

Brief Omake: "Evil" Comfort
One explanation after "You Can Cleave Something Together..."
*long silence*
Janna: You... didn't interrupt me or scoff in disbelief. Not once, even when I got to the more unbelievable parts. Why?
Doof: Janna... that has got to be the most emotionally scarring backstory I have heard since Monogram shared his experiences at... The Academy. And the amount of pain in your eyes and voice? It shows every word is 100% true. So of course I didn't do any of those things. I'm evil, not insensitive.
Janna: *sniffles and tears up*
Doof: *gently smiles* Come 'ere, I have more than enough experience with Vanessa to know what that look means. *opens arms wide*
Janna: *falls into them and starts crying desperately*
Doof: *hugging* There, there, it'll be okay.
Janna: *sobbing* How can you be so sure?
Doof: Because it just became very personal for me to ensure that two things happen. One, I find your friends and reunite them with you. Two, do the one thing I excel at: revenge against the instigator of an emotionally scarring backstory.
*dramatic lightning flashes*
MEANWHILE
Toffee: *shivers violently*

If Toffee wipes out magic, I'd just like to point out that it puts us in a much better position than like half of the other kings. Remember, we will always be better at super science than at magic because we don't have a predisposition for it like we do Super Science.

As to Humanity, I'm not sure if that was actually confirmed or not, from what I've seen his grudge is mostly with the Mewni Royal Family

Also Modern Christians don't have national holidays to celebrate the Crusades, nor are the regimes that benefitted from them still in play except maybe for the Papacy which quite honestly isn't what it used to be and still rightly catches flak for that.

The Mewmans celebrate Mewni Independence day every year, or as its known to the natives "The Great Monster Massacre" and the Mewni Royal Family was still in power before Toffee kicked them out.

You can disdain the Mewmans all you want (from what I understand of the show, they did some fucked up things) and talk about understanding Toffee's impetus for going after their Kingdom. Sure. Not disagreeing that the 'good' guys did awful things.

All of that isn't mutually exclusive from understanding that Toffee needs to be stopped. He is, in quest, in cahoots with a force that wants to wipe out humanity. One of our allies, the one with the best read on him, is absolutely terrified of how far his reach is spreading and what he'll do with it.

Yup. Monsters are the original residents that the Mewnians kickout to build a new home and was constantly being genocided for generations by the Mewni.
Well damn... that's some perspective I suppose. From his wiki it looks like lizard boi is immortal too. That imply he lived through all that stuff personally? Can't imagine that leaves one's psyche in the best of places.

It's worth noting that Toffee entered the Mewni political scene by instigating a monster rebellion against overwhelming prejudice and marginalization. Very fair. When the then Queen of Mewni tried to make peace with the monsters, Toffee came to the meeting and stabbed her to death in cold blood, then began a lightning war that took him to the Mewman capital.

Less fair.

The minion he sent to chat us up?

His explicit goal?

Wipe out humanity. That does say a lot about what Toffy plans to do eventually.

Not really? We've got proably the third best magic game behind him and Xanatos and we're looking to really start escalating soon. Not to mention we will need magic to fight off Bill

Magic is destroyed and Bill becomes a lot less scary. I'm honestly not sure if he can exist in our dimension with no magic to begin with. . .

However, I don't think Toffee wiping out magic kills Cypher, as he's basically the definition of outside of context problem. Is he even magic? And while inators could kill/banish Triangle, as I understand, that's basically how he was beaten in canon, I don't want to give up anti-cypher weapons if I can help it.
