7th from the bottom is with a fair amount of certainty, Globby learns his full potential, which is what we got with a random event roll of 10.

So, yeah, the descriptions of several of the lower examples of the Random Event Roll with about 15-20 characters missing from every line.
Here's an idea: let's not find out what's on the rest of that list, especially the thing that's not on it (the nat 1 option)

What villain would have won in Wizards of Waverly Place?

...how do the metaphysics match up? I guess the Wizards of Waverly Place were more comparable to people like Kitsune?

The Janus/Jumba/Mirage interlude is titled Seeds and has multiple high rolls...might Janus have gone for a plant body instead?

I could see an argument for photosynthesis.
I would guess either not!Umbridge or just a general "shittier situation" type deal without a king or prince level villain.
Also… PISTACHIONS! Seeds, mutants, Janus's OG lizardperson plan! It all lines up! The butts match!
...So Helen did die in that missile attack by Syndrome (which probably sent Bob into a downward spiral and to his death as well, which means that the PoD for Incredibles would be that missile killing Helen) and the kids got put into custody, only to later drop off the radar completely?
I would guess the PoD is Dash and Violet not sneaking onto the plane, thus explaining why they survived and were in a position to be taken into government custody and potentially leaving Helen to drown or something since I think Dash swam them to shore.

"It doesn't work on illusions, or to force a creature into a human or diminished state, but there may be some use to be found for a substance which can, say, induce a werewolf's transformation or force a Dragon to return to its true form."

It explicitly does not 'depower' anything. The only non-niche use is to reveal someone to be not be the human they are pretending to be. Which is a threat to the masquerade, which is why the stuff is banned. As we only have a single vial we can't use it for security screening.

We could make use of it, if we had any in-character reason to think Doom isn't human. We don't. We don't any apparent way of trying to get such a reason. Even if Russ comes back "a toon that can kill" doesn't directly lead to a toon pretending not to be a toon.
It's a synthetic material produced by a scientist though so we can probably replicate it for more indiscriminate use.

I doubt Helen drowned, she's clearly capable of flotation, but she probably died in the missile strike without the kids.

She's capable of floatation as long as she can actively use her powers. If she couldn't get to shore in time, she could have passed out and reverted to base human buoyancy. I'm not sure why she would be less able to parachute on her own.
When they landed in the water, you couldn't even see Nomanisan Island, Helen had to figure out which direction it was based on the smoke trails from the plane crash. So it was clearly a long ways away, without Dash's super-speed it's very unlikely she'd have made it.

Base human Buoyancy of ... Buoyanant. She's a fairly light-looking woman, she can probably float while unconcious. Now it is entirely possible she died of thirst, but I have doubts as to her drowning.

Or maybe she just died *directly* when the missilie hit thanks to no Violet being there to provide even basic shielding - how about that?

Also, not every human is actually buyoant - I for one tend to go under immediately despite having been a twig until relatively recently.

My muscles just contract and I clamp up upon hitting the water because I *Hate* the feeling of water on my skin most of the time.

Steel is a synthetic material produced by scientists. Doesn't mean you can make it without a source of iron ore.
Also, having a sample of Polyvinyl Chloride tells you nothing about how to get oil out of the ground and turn it into something useful.

Also also, the stuff is banned. Most likely for being a threat to the masquerade. Producing and using the stuff in large quantities would damage our relations with allies.

Now this doesn't mean we couldn't figure the stuff out and make use of it. But doing so would take a lot of investment and have major consequences.

i think we can just keep it for Doom, for a dramatic reveal kinda deal. the real question is, should we throw it at him in a waterballoon, from a glass because it was disguised as a drink or just sprinkle it on him?

Yeah, best shelf the mass-producing of stuff like Brockium until the Magical Masquerade has crumbled without our fault and we can sell the stuff to security details in the wake of that.

I don't see why that negates Torgamous's statement? We have absolutely no reason to think that Doom's disguise is anything but mundane clothing and prosthetics. Which is not what Brockium is described to work on.

Mundane clothes and prosthetics *do not seal you off completly and would allow Brockium to seep through the cracks* is all I am saying and I dislike being ignored.

...That being said, I now get what you were aming for and agree - Brockium wouldn´t do anything to Doom, since he isn´t masqueraded in a magical fashion that could be dispelled by that gunk.

Yes and Brockium does not work on mundane clothes and prosthetics. It works on werewolves and dragons in human form.

Not toons concealing their identity with items. It wouldn't work on a human using a ski mask, now would it?

An Abnormal Life
I know that the pseudo-canon status of The Owl House here renders the chances of this getting canon slim to none but I decided to do this anyway because… I like Vee and I wanted an excuse to write her.

An Abnormal Life

Vee hummed to herself as she tidied up Lu- No. Her room.

She couldn't help but smile at the thought. Just a few months ago the best she could possibly hope for was a slightly better cell. Now she had an actual house she could stay in, people she could call friends, and, of course, mo-Camila.

She couldn't let herself forget that it was fake, that Camila was Luz's mom, not hers. But, then again, Luz was gone, she abandoned Camila and if Vee hadn't shown up, then she would have just been left devastated, wondering what happened to her daughter. At least, that was what she told herself to convince her that everything was okay.

Vee's smile had turned into a frown as her train of thought started to run down a dark path, when she heard the sound of the door opening from downstairs. Vee wondered at that for a moment, Camila should still be at work and Vee didn't think anyone else would have a key to the house.

Terror surged through her as she settled on the idea that it had to be some member of Camila's family that she didn't know. She bit her lower lip as she tried to figure out some way to hide the fact that she had no idea her own grandparents were supposed to be. She considered just staying up in her room and pretending not to be here, but that option flew out the window when she heard the stairs creak. Whoever was in the house was coming to her.

Vee waited for a few tense moments. She could hear whispering on the other side of the door before it suddenly slammed open and two people she didn't know barged into her room. She didn't think they were Camila's relatives.

The first of the pair was a brown-haired man wearing glasses who looked like he was absolutely bursting with excitement. "That's her, that's the demon!" he shouted excitedly.

The other member of the pair, a serious-looking, red-haired woman with some kind of staff strapped to her back and what Vee thought was a tattoo on her hand, replied in a dangerous whisper, "Keep your voice down."

"W-what are you talking about?" Vee stammered, desperately trying to think of a way to get out of this. Her panic-fueled mind raced as she tried to think of how these two could possibly know about her. She hadn't done any shape-shifting since she came to the human world. She'd been careful, this wasn't supposed to happen.

The man ignored her completely and said to the woman, in a lower yet still excited voice, "But I found her!"

"We'll see," She whispered.

"Now-" Vee was cut off when, faster than she could react, the red-haired woman reached into her pocket and tossed a glass vial at her.

Vee cringed back and let the bright-blue liquid splash over her.

Almost immediately, Vee could tell that something was wrong. The sensation reminded her of times where she'd accidentally shape-shifted while in a panic, but more discomfiting. When she was in a panic, she was usually too distracted by whatever she was panicking about to notice the shape-shifting, no such luck here. The sensation of her two human legs combining into a tail just felt wrong when she didn't have any control over it. At least it wouldn't be an issue for long, she could already feel the panic settling in.

"Ha! I knew it!" The man exclaimed.

"I told you to keep your voice down." The woman said with a low growl, unstrapping the staff from her back and taking a step toward Vee.

"Wh-What are you going to do with me?" Vee asked, backing up into the corner of her room, desperate to get away from the two strangers.

The woman gave a joyless smile before replying, "The same thing the Huntsclan does to all of you abominations." Her staff's tip lit up with a green glow and she lunged at Vee.

Vee tried to block the staff with her hands and started screaming as the staff's plasma started burning her.

Unbothered by Vee's predicament, the man asked, "So, do you think you can get me in?"

"It's not that easy, but this," The woman drew back the staff and gestured toward Vee, who took a deep breath and let out a sob. "This certainly increases your chances."

In that brief moment where the woman let up, Vee noticed something about her staff, it had the scent of magic on it. Just a little, certainly not enough to be providing all, or even most of the power that it was channeling, but still some. Vee had an idea, she didn't know if it would work, but it was better than nothing.

The woman brought the staff back around and, rather than trying to block, Vee opened her mouth and tried to grab onto the magic she could feel within the staff. Vee felt a burst of relief as she felt it working. She ate the staff's magic and, by the time it reached her, the light had gone out and all the woman had to show for her efforts was a particularly rough shove.

The woman stood there in confusion for a moment, and that was all the time Vee needed. She quickly whipped her tail around and sent the woman crashing to the floor, before charging toward her room's window.

Vee's adrenaline spiked a bit when she heard the man shout, "Halt! Foul creature!" but her fears ended when she looked behind her and saw the man trip over the slowly rising woman, sending them both crashing back down to the floor.

Vee threw open the window and jumped. The impact still stung, but basilisks were made of tougher stuff than humans and she slithered off into the woods, leaving both her attackers and Camila's house behind her.

It took longer than Vee would have liked to return home. She didn't know what the woman splashed her with, but it apparently lasted a while.

She was lucky enough to find a lake to wash off in after a while, but that only made it easier to notice her newest problem. While her attacker's staff did give her a bit of magic to work with, it really was a small amount, barely enough to get her back into human form, and not even all the way there at that; she was still stuck with her basilisk form's eyes and ears.

Her walk back home was dominated by thoughts of how she could possibly explain her appearance to Camila. Maybe she could claim it was some kind of elaborate makeup, that seemed like the kind of thing that Luz would do, she could claim that she had a relapse.

She shook her head and discarded the idea, that explanation would only last as long as it took Camila to go get it removed if even that long.

Despite all of her anxiety, Vee's spirits soared as she saw Camila's house, and they promptly crashed back down when she saw who was in front of the house. In the driveway, talking to Camila, was the woman who had broken into the house and attacked her, dressed as a police officer and holding a notepad.

Vee quickly ran behind the house, desperate to keep out of sight, and she strained her ears to try and hear what they were talking about.

"And you don't know anyone who would want to hurt you or your daughter?" The woman asked, almost sounding like she actually cared.

"No, I have no idea who would do anything like this," Camila replied, fear and sadness dripping from her voice.

The woman gave a soft, "Hmmm," and said, "If you see your daughter again, please alert us immediately. The safety of the children is our number one priority."

"Um, yes, okay," Camila replied, a tinge of suspicion in her voice.

The woman apparently didn't notice, simply going, "Thank you, ma'am."

A few moments later Vee heard the sound of a car pulling out of the driveway.

Sure that she was gone, Vee let herself collapse on the ground and take deep shaky breaths, desperately hoping that Camila wouldn't hear them and come out to investigate.

She had been so worried about explaining her appearance to Camila, that she didn't even realize the obvious. Her attackers knew where she lived, they knew where Camila lived.

She forced herself to stand up and walked back into the woods. She didn't know what she was going to do, but she did know one thing; she couldn't stay here.

☆☆☆

She waited for night to fall before coming back. Once all the lights in the house were off, she approached and came in through the back door. Unlike her attackers, she knew this house and managed to enter without a sound. She made her way upstairs to her- no Luz's room.

She knew it was a stupid, unnecessary, risk, but she couldn't bring herself to leave immediately, not without one last look at everything that she was losing. She took a look around Luz's room, it was in rough shape. In addition to some slight burn marks from the woman's staff, Vee could also see a crack on the floor from where the pair had fallen down, and the stack of Luz's stuff that she had gathered before the attack was now strewn across the bed and floor. She didn't know if that had happened during the fight or the pair were looking for something. She really hoped it happened during the fight.

On an impulse, she grabbed a hat and pair of sunglasses from the floor. After a few moments of thought, she decided to take them with her. Wherever it was she eventually wound up, she'd need some way to hide her face. And this was she'd at least have something from her time here.

She quietly made her way back downstairs. She barely stopped herself from screaming when she heard Camila mutter, "Luz."

Vee turned around and saw Camila laying on the couch muttering in her sleep. She'd stayed out here all night, waiting for her to come home. No, waiting for Luz to come home, she was just an imposter making her life more difficult.

Despite knowing this, the urge to wake Camila up and explain everything welled up inside Vee. Camila was smart, she'd know what to do, she could save her.

Vee stamped out this impulse and forced herself to turn away. She tried to convince herself to just leave, but thoughts of Camila waiting and worrying about her daughter who would never be coming home swam through Vee's thoughts.

She tried to justify leaving without a trace; it would be safer if there weren't any clues and besides, Camila's daughter had already disappeared, Vee leaving would just make it official.

Despite this, she couldn't bring herself to just leave her with nothing. She grabbed a pen and piece of paper off of the kitchen counter and wrote out a brief note.

Dear Camila, I'm sorry but I have to leave, it's not safe for me or you anymore. Please don't look for me, I'm not your real daughter anyway.

Vee held back her tears as she left the note on the counter. It was completely insufficient, but it was all that Vee could bring herself to leave.

She slipped out the back door, no idea where she was going and, a few steps into her journey, she allowed herself to break down and cry.

One month later, Vee thought that she'd finally gotten the hang of New York.

She'd come to her with the idea that the people of New York would be a bit more accepting of her weirdness after the news about gargoyles broke out. That didn't quite turn out to be the case if the number of anti-gargoyle posters and T-shirts were any indication. The upside was that the average New Yorker was weird enough that, even if someone did catch a glimpse of her eyes or ears, she still looked more normal than at least a few of the ordinary humans in any given group.

That was what she was banking on right now in the subway. She had saved up enough from a combination of begging and an under-the-table job washing dishes at a restaurant that she was fairly certain was bribing the health inspector to get a meal at a nice Dominican place that she'd found. She technically didn't need to eat human food to live, but it reminded her of Camila's cooking, even if it wasn't as good, and that reminder was reason enough.

She sat there waiting for the train to make its way to the other end of the city, her excitement warring with her exhaustion from work, and, eventually, her exhaustion won out and she nodded off.

A few minutes later, Vee was awoken by the train coming to an abrupt halt, knocking her hat off of her head.

Vee's adrenaline spiked and she was fully awake in an instant. There were other passengers on the train. It was easy for humans to dismiss her weirdness when it was covered up, it was significantly harder when it was all out in the open.

Vee cringed and waited for the screaming, or worse, questions to start. She was instead surprised when she opened her eyes and saw where before there had been a bunch of normal passengers, there was now a woman with bright pink skin, a man with wings growing out of his back, and a hairy creature that Vee couldn't believe that she'd mistaken for a human. Above all else, she noticed the smell of magic.

She'd caught whiffs of it here and there during her time in New York, but this was on a whole other level. Vee wondered at the fact that it hadn't woken her up.

Suddenly, Vee was almost overwhelmed by the scent of more magic than she'd been around since she'd left the Boiling Isles. She stumbled off the train in a daze, barely remembering to grab her hat on the way out.

She shakily made her way off of the platform and into the vast market that stretched out in every direction. She gaped at her surroundings as she took it all in, if it weren't for the complete lack of Witches and Demons she almost would have thought she was back at the Boiling Isles.

The thought sent a bitter current through her. She ran away from all of this, only to find herself right back where she started. Sure, there was no Emperor Belos here, but who knew what was in charge here instead.

Vee sighed and headed deeper into the market, thinking back to her time with Camila and mourning the loss of what she had for those few precious months.

She tried to dismiss those thoughts, thinking to herself that this was the only way that it could have ended. She was a demon, a normal life was never a real option.
