As for my thoughts on why I chose "After Her." So Xanatos was expecting only a single Marco "I'm Cazador" for the outer defenses and likely did not expect too much beyond holding back Demona's forces. The real battleground he has chosen to confront Demona likely depends on who ever can get more assets into the center chamber where the McGuffin is.
If we take a look at what his plan has lead up to thus far we know that the McGuffin has been in transit to a secured location in order to draw out Demona's forces to a location he has prepared defenses for but knows that being the crafty Gargoyle that she is will likely have a method to personally bypass the outer defenses and only take in a strike team sized force to a direct line to the McGuffin. Thus I would think that is where Xany has some of his more esoteric defenses that it would be best to keep out of the public view to counter this. With both forces engaged in combat the two are likely locked into a stalemate until one of Xany's folks or Demona's folks tip the balance in either direction. We should be the deciding factor to help Xany overcome his Nemesis by going after Demona.
