Slight PR boost as you begin selling unique and novel cakes and cake recipes.

That doesn't matter. If we go and bother them they'd get annoyed, and why should Xanatos use his influence to help us on something like that.
The President has specifically promised to go to the Moon in 1 year and in 5 to Mars, I'm sure he'd love to be humiliated by us if we get to go to Mars in 6 months.
Because our Learning Actions are limited. We've only 12 Learning Actions (let's not count LOVEMUFFIN since they can't do high learning actions) in a year. If we split them equally between AI and Genetics that would be 6 AI actions/year and 6 Genetics actions/year on the other hand if we split them in 3 it'd only be 4 for each focus.
This is moreover exacerbated because we've competitors that focus all of their 2 actions in 1 place. For example, let's say that we go for Superpowers and that these are locked behind 6 Genetics' Learning Actions. As we're right now it'd take us 6 turns to unlock them, if we were to be split with another focus more it'd be 9 turns, on the other hand, another competitor focused on it would only take 3 turns to unlock it.
Moreover said competitor would monopolize all the benefits of being the first to reach that, like selling superpowers in a can, or applying his discoveries in genetics on medicine, etc. But not only that, because when we finally got to unlock Supwerpowers that would be old news because our hypothetical competitor would have used those 3 turns to unlock another tech on the same level.
This outright isn't true. Do you want to sell Space Tech to the US? I'm all for that, same with collaborating with Xanatos, Shego, Shere Khan, Liv Amara, and a whole bunch of other Kings. I'm against, however, opening us in another new front because, as I said before, it'd just be impossible to achieve anything on any of them.
Basically, let's try to not be a Jack of All Trades, Master of None.

What a lovely thing to wake up to! I definitely understand how the questers would think that Doof is Haruhi-Lite, without knowing that several of the more absurd Doofinators had been written as non-canon. We're still sorta nerfed, but if you use an inator to boost this kind of inator... well. On that note, we need to Tinker more often.
