As much as I like Wasabi, Alan and Roddy seem the most useful. And frankly, we could use some down to earth types. We are way over budget on kookiness.

...hey, speaking of retail conglomerates, is Buy&Large a thing yet?

You're right.
Wasabi's a better Stewardship hero because he can actually run stewardship on a ton of things we actually do, like super-science. I'd be much more confident in him than in LoveMuffin. Also, we can move the castle using him if we want to.
That's... I don't feel you're quite taking me seriously. Or perhaps you're purposefully missing my point?

Traits matter. Even focus matters. We already have mid-tier generalist Stewardship Heroes in Mirage, Coyote, and Janus Lee. What we need now is a heavy-hitter.

And you don't need Learning to run Stewardship actions, all you need is Stewardship. By the time we turn Learning into Stewardship, like dinousar farms and parks, you don't need the hero to understand the tech behind it. And while we could try to use Wasabi to move the castle, he probably wouldn't give us much better odds than the units we already have (if at all), while Roddy would.

Where on earth are you getting the idea lairs guy can't do other stewardship actions?

Near as I can tell he probably just has a specialty in construction not a malice in everything else.

And I think Wasabi would hate working with us. He likes safety and order. We specialize in toons, mad science, and EVIL!

I'm all for hiring him after the glooms and juniper but for this?

Alan and Roddey all the way.

I'd rather get Stewardship specialists than multi-class generalists, and given the list of people we'd already like to hire I find the argument that we can just hire the non-time-sensitive people later uncompelling. So I'd want Rodney over Wasabi in general. Given that he'll probably be very good at moving the castle, I consider Rodney a must-pick.
You know Wasabi's Explicitly a Stewardship hero too, right?

Well you see, this principal was once a distinguished professor at the Institute of Hoboken,

"But... that's Hoboken..." /snarky megas reference

Oh, and just to clarify, Bradley will not be spilling the beans about the Grid as soon as you hire him. Hiring someone doesn't mean they'll reveal all their secrets.

Of course, but he's also a way to build up Doof OS.

We let it go for a bit because we could afford to, and while we still can, a name like Alan Bradley would be a massive help there, and probably somewhat in AI work as well - both of those being things that are very useful to us.

Wasabi's a good in for BH6 stuff but as I haven't watched that (though I do want to) I can't really contribute, vote for Wasabi if you like that. I think we can hold off on the Occult Teacher for a bit, though he looks like an excellent target to snag to bolster our Occult forces. And meanwhile...
we should probably wait to get the lair builder due to the "first action" requirement if we don't have anything in mind.

You know, just the castle we've been trying to move for most of the game. And the dinosaur park that comes with massive upsides. And all the other big construction projects on top of building our defenses further.

A good construction guy is just what we need, I think. Him and Alan are my two choices because they provide immense immediate benefits, and then we snag Wasabi next turn and work on the professor later.

Also, real talk - I think from now on, each turn, we use the fact that we can recruit one hero per turn... and recruit one hero per turn, no matter what. Our actions per turn will be only temporarily slowed, but will build over time.

It was, no longer is, and never was at all. Next question.

Is Wesayso a thing, as indicated in the documents for this?

Because honestly its presence there remains the most baffling thing on the document, even more than Fireball. Like, I get why, but... whaaaaaa?

You're missing his point.

Wasabi is learning/stewardship so probably mid stats in both. We have that.

Roddey is pure stewardship and probably has really good stats there which we desperately need.
But Roddy doesn't have the same quest potential as Wasabi. What other construction projects are we planning? Wasabi gets us an in in 'sokyo which we've been neglecting.

As Feldrake reminds us constantly, this universe is just... One godawful ball of PARADOX. And not even minor stuff - I'm talking about "Time Ape took the Time Ape form because to see his true form would explode your head" level schwifty. To ever actually peer behind the scenes would reveal a SINGLE gremlin, or perhaps a Trimp, sprinting in a hamster wheel. This hamster wheel is the Only True Constant. If it were to ever stop, the DVV universe would shatter into its component parts and kill everyone in the process.
Don't think about it too hard.
Don't stop the Trimp.
Then we don't die.

Moving the castle.

Constructing the dinosaur park.

Making that giant racetrack for that one TV show for good PR.

That's half a year worth of projects just off the top of my head and assuming we only have him work on his focus and not have him, I dunno, strengthen our defenses or something in case of disaster.

Yes, but holy shit man there's a bit of a difference between some people from forty thousand years in the future being around, and a company from sixty five million years and at least one mass extinction event (that they caused) ago having survived everything.

Like, at that point you start asking whether or not people even noticed the thing was there the whole time!

Oh, good, ok. Not having Earl Sinclair around is probably for the best for us all.

Eh, I thought we were recruiting the Glooms first. So, tentative recruiting plan starting from next turn:

Turn 1. The Glooms
Turn 2. Wasabi/Builder guy - Whoever wins this vote
Turn 3. Gomez the Magitech guy
Turn 4. The Occult hero from this

Nah, we get two of the heroes from Eggheads

Bare success

Glancing back and forth, Janna picked up the book and slipped it into her jacket. Zipping it tight around her, she slunk off, a smile of victory on her face.

"If you end the world with that young lady, I will be very disappointed."

Agent Russ was waiting for her in the alley.

"…hey Russ. How's it goin?"

His arms were folded, his glasses opaque, his expression inscrutable, but somehow all that nothing managed to say more than words could hope to.

Janna sighed. "Fiiiine. I get it, it's dangerous. I'll be careful. I promise."

Russ nodded, and walked away.

"That coulda gone better." Feldrake opined.

"How does he do that?!?" Janna complained as she flipped through the Manual. "Think he'll squeal to the doof?"

"I dunno. Let's hope not. Hey, why're you flipping to the 'about the author' section?

Cut to Satan, down in Hell

Ding-dong!

"Aaargh!" The Devil screamed. He rose from his armchair, leaving cloven hoofprints on his carpeting before standing on his 'Abandon All Hope' welcome mat and throwing open his front door.

"Hello." The delivery-sloth said lackadaisically as he slowly pushed a series of crates up to the door. "I have an order of fifty crates of Quest Buy brand Dragon Attractant for Mr. The Devil?"

In the distance, a chorus of deranged roars could be heard.

"Sign here please."

Satan slammed the door shut, running a clawed finger down his black goatee. His 'Damn this Fam' embroidery fell off of the wall. He sighed. That was a gift from Wrathmelior. This was almost as bad as discovering he had donated $500,000 to every animal center in the state of Texas.

He had barely managed to sink back into his chair when the doorbell rang again.

"What is it?!?!" He growled, throwing his door open and staring down at the small group of primly suited men.

"Hello there. Have you considered letting the light of our Lord and Savior into your heart?"

Lucifer the First-Fallen stared down at the man.

"May we come in?"

No, Satan will not be after Janna for this. The joke was simply too good to resist.
